They were very focused and attentive to detail. I got a no chip/shallack manicure (with soak off) and regular pedicure. Making a reservation online was REALLY easy. I had two badly broken toe nails that they cut, filed, and patched so they wouldn't break more. It was painless and the acrylic looks exactly like my real toenail. They dont do waxing, but there is a place literally next door (Just Wax It).

The technician removed the product from my entire first hand before telling me it was apparently hard gel rather than regular gel and that she wasn't qualified/authorised to remove it. I'm not a nail technician, so I'm not sure how a customer is expected to know the technical difference when their own trained technician couldn't identify it before starting the removal. I even offered to skip the manicure completely and just have the product removed, but they couldn't do that either because the technicians available weren't qualified to perform hard-gel removal. I left with no manicure, one hand partially removed and the other untouched. Townhouse then refused to refund me for the incomplete service and instead gave me account points, despite me clearly saying I don't want credit or another appointment. Very poor handling of the appointment and subsequent complaint. I definitely won't be returning.

My nails really stood the test over the course of two weeks: briney salt water in Barcelona and Valencia, partying hardy in Ibiza, and lugging/packing/unpacking/re-packing a 32 kg suitcase (I like to shop, sue me!). The amazing part is that my nails did not chip or break. They were in pristine condition after all of this. It was pricey though, I wasn't expecting to pay $50 for a manicure but I was desperate and it was worth it. The Nail Bar has all of the new OPI colors available both to use for your manicure and for purchase. You even get to pick out which lotion you want to use...that hand massage was heaven! The technicians take their time and are in no hurry to rush you out (even though the space is tiny, especially if you already have shopping bags). My only complaint is that because the nail bar is located in the women's street wear section of Selfridges (where all of the Oasis, All Saints, Miss Sixty stuff is), that I was subject to La Roux/ Sugababes/ David Guetta blasting for 45 minutes.

I walked out with shellac removed, nails trimmed and filed, nail hardener treatment and cuticle oil applied. If I were a local I would absolutely return for a full manicure here, knowing they take the time to do each part of the process correctly.

Since then, I have always been a loyal customer. Tatyana is an expert nail technician and works with the highest standards. She recognises loyalty (for example, she hasn't changed my prices even if the price list for new clients have gone up) and always performs an excellent job. She's a fast worker (in Italy the girl who does my gel nails takes 2 hours to do a set, Tatyana only takes an hour!) and uses top quality products.
