I had such a great experience at Sue's Nails. To start off, I ended up getting there earlier than my appointment, and they sat me down no less than 5 minutes after I arrived even though it was before the time, so great service there in honoring appointment times. I got dip powder done with tip extensions, and I think they turned out great. My nail technician was awesome. She really took the time to make sure each of my nails matched in the length and shape. Along with that, she was very friendly and we got to chat a little while she worked tediously. I would definitely recommend this place. Here's a picture of my nails below.

It was the first place recommended to me when I moved to Valpo 7 years ago. I used to love them! However I think the only reason I've continued to use them the last few years is out of convenience (they're good with walk ins and open on Sundays, often the only free day i have.) Ive learned the last year to just not bother with the designs or anything trendy. A simple, one color set is all I trust there anymore, and when I try anything else I leave disappointed every time (and I'm genuinely not even hard to please and never expect it to look exact to an inspo pic..but I feel most the time they don't even get close.) I will say that who you get really matters. There are some there who can do great work and some that can't. The manicure was an absolute disaster. The technician was clearly inexperienced and struggled with a basic classic service, redoing the nails four times while aggressively pushing for acrylics we didn't want. To top it off, her long hair wasn't pulled back and literally dragged through my daughter's wet polish, ruining the finish. After nearly three hours, we were too exhausted to ask for a fifth fix and just wanted to leave. Even after speaking with the owner, Justin, about our experience, there was no offer of compensation or even a discount for the ruined service. While we didn't ask for one, you would expect a business owner to want to make things right after such a blatant lack of professionalism and skill. Between the poor quality and the lack of customer care, I cannot recommend this salon. Save your money and your time.
