W have been here twice for lunch and both occasions have been great tasting food. The best Mexican food I have had since moving to Georgia. I had a lunch special the first visit that wasn't on the menu and was a braised beef dish and was phenomenal and only about $12. Great lunch spot, don't be concerned about the gas station. I was very disappointed. When I first walked in, it smelled musty. The food was not all that great. Lacking flavor and a little dry. The service was really great. This place is connected to a gas station, but was surprisingly GREAT!! Service was great!! The drinks were huge (especially for only $9.50) & had real fruit, not a bunch of artificial sweeteners. I asked for a smaller one the 2nd time around($1 cheaper). The blackberry was my favorite ~it had a ton of blackberries in the bottom of it! The chicken chimichanga was also very large. I can't say enough about how well we were treated here and how good the food is. We had a party of ten and they accommodated us quickly. The restaurant is located next to a gas station. It is small, but has plenty of seating and parking. We were served by an outstanding server. She was hospitable, patient and attentive. Chips and salsa were brought to our table as soon as we were seated and replenished when they ran low. We all ordered different items. I went with the shrimp tacos with onions and cilantro and a side of rice and beans. The food was tasty and the portions generous. Everyone from our group enjoyed the food and experience. All I can say is OMG. Looking for Mexican food while in Buford. Pulled up to this spot and instantly was about to turn around. It is attached to a gas station. But went in anyway. Health score is 96. First, service here is impeccable. We ordered street tacos (steak and shrimp) with corn tortillas. The tortillas were fresh, fresh and fresh. No bag stuff. Taste like authentic street tacos. We also ordered the taco salad. The taco was fresh as well as the lettuce. The tamarind margarita was the best. It had tamarind at the bottom. Sweet and tart. I highly recommend this spot. read more

Been coming here a couple years now since we moved in our home which is 5 minutes away. Always great service. The owner and his wife are always personable and nice to me my wife and daughter. Food always fresh and tasty. Authentic. I love love the tamales! I also come with my sister from time to time. They know great customer service. I had a mishap with my order last night and they immediately rectified the situation with no hassle. Owner came up to me and spoke about it even. I appreciate that. Handmade cocktails. This place was awesome. There were only a few people in there because it is Buford and it wasn't near a ton of businesses. We we're starving after a 5k at lake Lanier & dropped here to fix that issue. We had 5 of us and sat right away at a booth table hybrid. We got two orders of chorizo queso because we couldn't get enough of it. They have two kinds of hot sauce and both were good. I had the enfrijolades and they were amazing. What a miserable experience - tasteless chicken, cold beef inside the burrito - the beans were like brown caulk! Barely any onions in the fajitas and the chicken was done consistency of water logged play-dough mixed with sawdust! Wow - we literally left all of the food! We tried Lola's for the first time on Saturday and it was amazing! My taco salad was the best I've had in a long time. There was as much meat as there were toppings, including lettuce. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful. My husband had street tacos which he loved, and they were overfilled. He liked the sauces also. The churros should not be missed. I found this place to be true to its ethnic heritage, with flavorful and rich food done well! I'm a fairly adventurous person want to comes to food, so nothing phases me. This place wasn't at all outside of my comfort zone, in my companions enjoy the food as well. The guisado verde was tender, flavorful, and served with some amazingly delicious black bean and asadero stuffed tamales. The owner was friendly, the service was good, and the only thing that I would improve is bringing each person their own cup of salsa. I know that sounds kind of petty or insignificant, but win three hungry man are sitting at the table the last thing we want to do is dip into another man's bowl. We came to this place because we saw 4.5 stars and thought we would have great Mexican food, but after my dinning experience I'm not sure how did they end up with 4.5 stars. The place looks decent like a typical Mexican place. The service was ok. Our waitress in particular was not great. Not sure if she was too busy but really not very personal and friendly. The food was mediocre and my dish in particular was a disappointment. I ordered a vegetarian option and she said it would come with zucchini's and mushrooms but 99% was onions and there was no mushrooms, so I questioned her and she brought me a small plate with some cooked mushrooms. I was not supper happy but I made it work. But besides that, the food has not much taste. On the positive side the margarita was huge and while it was not the best I ever had it was also not the worse. Overall I'm giving this place a 3 star because I understand we are not in regular times and I want to be reasonable with my expectations. read more

worst experience here last night. We actually ate here a lot in the fall and never had issues. Last night we went for dinner and the experience was one that will cause us not to go back. when we ordered queso, it came out some orange cheese that tasted like Velveeta. the staff acted like there was nothing wrong. The owner didn't take responsibility for it and his response was "does the menu say the cheese should be white?" Yes it should be! You're a Mexican restaurant that is what queso is. The steak quesadillas came out with no steak and when sent back they just added the steak and threw the original quesadillas back on grill in the steak grease causing it to be soggy. Again owner didn't take responsibility instead just kept arguing about it. we will not be back here ever. read more

I have maybe never experienced worse customer service than tonight- took some friends/colleagues to enjoy a place I have been to many times, and was overcharged by 140%, then made to feel like a total villain by the "management" who were truly in the wrong- just so bad. Never will I ever set foot in there again, and I will advise all of my friends to avoid as well. Beyond bad- unanimous at table, this was just horrible and put a damper on an otherwise great night with friends. Lola Ownership should take a very hard look at what's going on there in their establishment while they are away- not good!! Gurantee they would be mortified with handling tonight. The steak was literally gray with some faint grill marks that looked like they were made by a George Foreman grill that wasn't hot enough. I couldn't eat it. Husband had fajitas - also horrible.
