This cute new cafe in Utrecht is really something special. It's located just outside the city…read morecenter so the crowds don't really go there. Still it's not a far walk from the Oude Gracht. The cafe is quite big and also has a terrace in front of it. There are a lot of seats and tables but still they could be all taken if you come here during the weekend because it's such a popular place. You can come here for coffee with pastries, lunch with sandwiches/salads and a fresh juice or drinks and snacks. I tried a cheese cake with berry rose sauce and beetroot nut cake and they were both delicious. The coffee is also nice. The interior is lovely. Lots of plants and cute decoration and the whole place just has this super chill vibe. The staff is friendly and the prices are good. This is my new favorite place in Utrecht!

The roasted potatoes were also a little over cooked and mushy. I would come again to try other menu items. I do have concerns about the drinks policy. Now of course I am as they say a simple stupid American, but when asking for water with ice, one would expect more than 1 cube per glass. So as far as the drinks, this place gets a flat 1 star. The veggies with coconut was the most interesting for me. I couldn't stop eating it. The prawn crackers were so good as well. There are a couple of tables there if you want to eat in but ideally it's a take away place. Also they have a bunch of cooking supplies if you wanna have a go and trying to good Indonesian food.

And of course, we had some great Dutch cuisine. They're known for their mash pots which is basically mashed potatoes with a meat/gravy option. I had a bite of the mashed potatoes and they were rich and buttery. I actually went with the salmon, which was their catch of the day. Super crispy skin, buttery flesh, and so fresh. Absolutely cooked perfectly, and with a side of fingerlings and veggies. It's also super cool that they source most of their table decorations from local businesses!

They tried to address the drink issue and sent me the same drink twice, even though I told them not to worry about it. They were adamant about addressing the issue. I appreciate that, even though I really didn't care for the drink they kept sending. So service is A+, food was solid, and I'd go back in the future to have an actual meal one day. But I won't order the daiquiri from the menu.
