Carole B. I am nearing completion of my first month at Loka Studios and have found it to be one of the most enjoyable Yoga studios I have ever visited. Upon first entering the studio I immediately experience a sense of peace and tranquility. The studio is organized and arranged to enhance the yoga experience. Any equipment you may need is readily available such as mats, blocks, eye pillows, straps and blankets. The instructors are professional and patient. They carefully monitor and adjust the lesson to meet the needs and ability level of each individual student. I am amazed at how much I have learned and how strong I have become since joining Loka Studios. I have also learned how to be more at peace with myself and people around me. A wide variety of daily Yoga session times and instructors make Loka Studios perfect for every level of Yoga instruction. My favorite is the 9:00 AM session which normally has a smaller number of participants allowing for more individual instruction. I plan to continue making Loka Studios a part of my healthy lifestyle. After 20+ years of my again-off-again practice, my beginnings were from my mother as a child of Austin, TX hippies, and then personally beginning in my early twenties at gyms and classes here and there, but when I suffered a cervical spine injury back in February, I got serious and found Loka. This is the best yoga culture and practice I've ever adopted. The owner and instruction is second to none, and really offers an entry point for all levels of yoga and class style, you will never get bored! This is really a special place and a yoga studio like no other. It truly offers an open-arm yoga culture for anybody--yes, I mean ANY BODIES, ANY AGE, you name it. Situated in the little country pocket of Bracken, the yoga instruction goes far beyond any "fitness" style class I've experienced before...nothing to lose, because your first class is FREE! If you like a workout, try Weekend Warrior on Saturday, if you like some mediation, Friday morning Lei'd Back is great for the work-a-holic! This place is my sanctuary, a place of rest and peace and where I can leave comparison and competition behind. I am a 22-year Air Force Veteran and a Licensed Professional Counselor and I treat veterans and first responders that have experienced painful trauma. I practice at Loka to let go of all the emotional baggage and I highly recommend everyone to visit Loka just once and you may find it to be your home as well. At Loka during my practice the goal is to find the body/mind connection, making long lasting changes in my body (healing injuries, being able to find alignment, quieting anxiety, helping find flexibility after sitting all day). I have and will continue to call yoga life changing which makes me laugh a little bit because I always thought of yoga as something a little to hippy dippy for me but that is far from the truth. I can see physical, mental and emotional changes in me and I can tell when I have not been to Loka as well. Come by for a visit...lots of classes both morning and evening offered. read more

Loka has gone through many changes this past year. From new ownership/management to new class offerings, this studio has transformed in appearance and attitude. The studio is very welcoming inside, with pleasing decor and always smells wonderful and inviting. The staff is so willing to listen and offer practices for healing and wellness. This is a great place to build a consistent practice that is useful in and out of the studio. Whether you're doing Yoga and Meditation, Tai Chi, Healing Hula or learning about adding Essential Oils to your wellness cabinet, the teachers do well at holding the space while keeping it real for the students, and the students do a wonder job at showing up just as they are and sharing with each other so the entire group grows together. It is wonderfully supportive and transformational. Loka Studios is always open to feedback and listens and responds to students needs. I have been going to this studio for a year now .... what a difference it has made! I started because I have been told by many that yoga would be great for my "negative" flexibility issue .... I had no idea at the time that I would walk away from a yoga class with so much more than a good workout/stretch ... and even after a year I still continue to grow/learn and be very challenged in my practice. If you have been putting it off thinking yoga is only for the young/flexible/thin; think again --- you will never be intimidated or feel out of place at Loka Studios ... the instructors there give many "bus stops" along the way so everyone can be challenged! Wish I had not waited so long to jump into a yoga practice ... but after finding Loka Studios I have never looked backed! Loka is a wonderfully welcoming place to learn yoga. Last January, I took the beginning yoga series. I had never taken yoga before. The teachers are welcoming and so willing to help you learn. They know you and can help you modify an exercise if necessary and the other students are very friendly. I feel happy every time I enter the building. Classes are varied and offered a diverse times. There are plenty of interesting seminars in addition to the classes. Additionally, the studio participates in community service projects throughout the year which give students the opportunity to give back to our community and the world. This is where you want to come for yoga and a great group of teachers and students. It has made such a difference in my life and overall health. I recommend Loka Studio with 100 stars. read more

I have been at Loka for almost three months and have tried a variety of classes. There has not been a bad one in the bunch! Each instructor has their own practice and are very helpful in you work with your own body, in your own range. The studio is warm and inviting and everyone treats you like family as soon as you walk through the door. You will leave after every class relaxed, refreshed, and ready for whatever comes next!! Best yoga studio ever! I have been taking classes here for several years and I love the variety of classes. My favorites are the yoga mechanics and restorative, but they are all good. The classes are small and welcoming, no one crowds you on your mat, and the climate is pleasant. The personalized instruction makes it safe for people at all levels of fitness to enjoy the benefits of yoga. If you have never done yoga before and want to give it a try I recommend Loka. If you have done yoga before and want to learn something new and recharge your batteries I recommend Loka. read more

I love Loka Studios! There are a variety of yoga classes offered and the instructors will modify to meet the needs and abilities of the students. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and caring and provide a practice that benefits the mind, body and soul! I took the Beginner Series about a year and a half ago where I learned so much about how the body (muscles, ligaments, joints, bones, etc) works and about how yoga practices help improve all the body systems. I found Loka Studios several months ago after moving into the area and am very impressed and pleased with the studio and staff AND what a treat to have it so close to home. I am especially a fan of the Vinyasa flow classes offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings. I do have access to gyms in the area where yoga classes are offered but, I find the smaller classes at Loka preferable, and appreciate the personal relationships I have developed with the instructors and fellow students which has helped me to advance my practice. read more

I love this studio, the ambiance, the instructors everything. It is very inviting and warm to everyone that walks through the door. The raindrop therapy makes you feel relax, renewed and totally at peace. I would recommend it for anyone. Every yoga class is taught by good instructors whose knowledge and techniques are sound and strong and not cookie cutter. I have been going to Loka Studios for a year and a half. Yoga for Stress Relief on Mondays and Wednesdays is my favorite class. I am 57 years old and have grown stronger and more flexible from attending this class. Kanani is a a wonderful instructor. She is easy to follow and provides bus stops so you can go as far as your body feels like going in the pose. I have tried other classes at the studio and have enjoyed all of them.
