Sure ok I'll break the ice here being " no stranger to danger''…read more I have the dreaded hiatus hernia and went in yesterday for day one of the two day '' Esophageal Manometry and 24-hour ph monitoring tests'' First off there is a receptionist and a cramped little 5-6 chair waiting room. Dr. Dong ( An Asian man probably in his early 60's ) comes in about 20 minutes late and calls me into a small back room with a desk for him and a chair for me. my first impression is Dong is very robot-like in his nature showing no emotion or personality what so ever. his list of questions was read off like I was being interviewed by a computerized program, but whatever I'm here to successfully conclude an endeavour regardless of the Doc.'s demeanour. from here we went into the bigger procedure room, where I was met with a lady at a computerized terminal. and my seat beside her. The lady was quite nice and did exhibit a rather pleasant and caring personality as well as being very competent in doing her part in the procedure. Dr. Dong continued to be emotionless and not saying anything but commands which was a bit weird but staying focused... The whole procedure went off without a hitch... It felt uncomfortable at times but painless so easily tolerable. My leaving impression was if I rate this on quality of professionalism and competency I guess it was first class. Bottom line; They got this done quick, efficient ...and painless now it is the following day and I go back in 3 hours to get the ''24-hour monitor'' taken out ... and get back on the Dexilant

Dr Dhillon at the Guildford location has to be the worst doctor I have ever met. First, she never…read moreasked me any questions, and when she did ask a question, she addressed it to my husband; as if I am some feebleheaded woman who can't speak for themselves. She then prescribed a medication, without asking of any underlining issues I may have; which did play a huge factor in the side effects of this medication. When I asked to get a full blood panel requisition, she denied and told me I didn't need it, again, no additional question as to WHY I may want this. When I told her I was in active miscarriage, she ignored that fact, and requested no follow up questions. Then, she just walks out.. not only the worst doctor, but her bedside manor was atrocious. You could have been laying there with a broken leg, and felt like she would have spit at you and call you a liar.

I would not recommend Virginia Le to be anyone's family physician. The wait is extremely long…read more Her and her staff are very unprofessional. In my whole life, I have never seen an MOA wear slippers in a medical office while eating a bag of chips at the front counter. There were multiple times her and her staff would laugh very loud and make jokes while in front of patients waiting for their appointments. I found this very contradictory when I overheard her telling one of her MOAs how to write an email and sound more professional. If you decide to be her patient, you'll find out very quickly that she treats her patients as cash cows. She will penalize you $100 if you're a no show or don't cancel your appointment prior to 24hrs notice. But when you show up for you appointment, you maybe required to wait up to 2hrs. Once you have your appointment with her, she will rush it and prevent you asking any questions or leave you unsatisfied/confused not knowing what action or follow up is required. Therefore, you maybe need to make another appointment and wait for weeks just to continue from the previous appointment session. When she found out I got a second opinion from another doctor, she jumped to conclusion and made false accusations that I have another family doctor. When I asked her for my records, she refused to do so by justifying that I am no longer her patient and immediately changed my status on her system. Virginia does not demonstrate any interest in her patient's welling being. She operates her office as if it's a fast food restaurant

Sought advice, treatment for uncontrolled asthma, stomach problems. Complete waste of time. Battery…read moreof repetitive blood tests, still more chest X-rays, multiple breathing tests (why should there ever be more than one?) - no further ahead. Treatment consisting of ineffectual, previously rejected puffers actually made me worse. Prompted initiation of emergency 5-day Prednisone course prescribed previously by GP, thank goodness. Called doc for advice when Prednisone didn't work hoping to prevent visit to ER. Zero response. Nada. Either staff failed to pass along msg or doc ignored. As a result, ended up at ER, where attending doc gave shaming lecture: 'WHY don't you have a respirologist? Not an allergist - a respirologist! Are you stupid... etc.' ER docs don't grasp that consumers have NO control over the specialists who treat us. It's as if the law of battery doesn't exist in Canada. Hoped ER doc might make referral to respirologist. No such luck. That would be too easy. Just shaming lecture, another round of Prednisone and decongestant that actually worked unlike Dr. Wadi's. No idea how Dr. W made it through medical school. This is someone who has to be told repeatedly patient does not have a medical degree, please use plain English. Similarly told more than once to refrain from abbreviations not meaningful to anyone without medical expertise. This is someone who during clinic visit turns her computer screen to face the patient as if patient w/o medical training should read and interpret our own medical test results! Clerical support too inept to perform even the perfunctory task of obtaining patient's records from GP without intervention from patient! Gallingly, doc actually complained to patient about treatment protocols, which are determined not by patient but by her licensing body. Surely it is the responsibility of each doc to understand, argue against and, if necessary, overcome obstacles to treatment when it's in patient's interest to do so! Had I not pleaded a persuasive case to GP to obtain consult with respirologist Dr. Wadi likely would have continued billing multiple visits no matter how clearly ineffectual and even harmful her treatment proved. Formal complaint to the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons to follow for preventable visit to ER in breathing distress. Maybe Dr. W is competent with easily identified food allergies - milk, gluten, etc., the low-hanging fruit of allergy practice - maybe, but never for a respiratory matter - NEVER. And never for any illness for which time may be of the essence. This is a doc who would rather apologize to your family when you die a preventable death rather than risk pleading with overseers for a more qualified expert approach.

When I got back to Vancouver I was recommended to Dr. Shamim. She asked me a litany of questions and really narrowed the problem. In short, it was a tree nut allergy.
