The Moulin is so beautiful and you really are out in the country, something you rarely get to experience when traveling. Philippe is an Amazing cook, and I would recommend that you come do dinner every night! The people that you meet around the huge dining table! When I wasn't eating or sleeping I was hiking, hunting for mushrooms, exploring castles, or the little towns and lakes near by. I would recommend a stay here for anything looking for a truly French countryside experience, especially if you're traveling alone.

The breakfast was included in the price of the room and consisted of local sourced products. Breakfast freshly pressed juice, coffee and tea, French bread, croissants and chocolate croissants, brioche, cheeses, cold cuts, yogurt and locally made jams. There was fresh butter and honey. You also could have a 4 minute egg. Dinner booked in advance consisted of local meats and vegetables. All prepared by a talented chef. The food was delicious. Get ready for some good times. Seating at the communal table was an opportunity to talk to the other guests who were of many nationalities about world affairs and local sites. Rooms were very big and eclectically decorated with diverse old furniture and art. There was a shower, bathtub and sauna in our bathroom. After learning about the town and the church we adjourned to this restaurant for our lunch. We sampled four different local cheeses and various meats, pork, and breads, and large platters of potatoes, cheese and cream. Way too much to finish. Service was completely unobtrusive but efficient and pleasant. A nice stop on our tour. We really enjoyed the mid-day meal before heading back out on our journey to Dordogne. Mark & Nancy.

It felt like we were bothering them when requesting taxis and general information (even when speaking to them in French). The room itself was not too bad for the price. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from the area with shops and restaurants by the Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral, and about a 20 minute taxi ride to the Puy-de-Dôme.

My in-laws also got us a suite here for two nights during our wedding. I had to get past the strange name of this hotel, Oceania, considering that we are in CF, which is hours away from any ocean. Once I did, this place was excellent. It is very conveniently located near the train, and 2 minutes walk from Place de Jaude. They gave us a pre-selected menu for our family dinner, which made it easy for our family to select their meals. And the service was very personalized. The food was incredibly delicious. They even brought us GF desserts since my sis-in-law is also GF. The brunch was out-of-control! There was soooooo much food and it was delicious. They even brought a separate basket for GF pastries. Yes - pastries!! And not just weird, boring sliced bread, which is usually what happens when you have GF brunch requests. The suite was soooo nice! It was huge. There were 2 full bathrooms. One with a spa tub! Unfortunately, the tub was not used because we were always running around doing something. But I really wished I had access to it a few days later after a day of snowboarding. lol. Excellent place for almost anything you need.
