The Tawas State Park…read morecampground was closed for renovations, so my husband and I began looking for another spot to camp while enjoying spring birding in this area. Through a Google search, we found this campground. This campground is quiet, exceptionally well-cared for, convenient y located to all Tawas and West Branch attractions and located on a beautiful piece of property. The owners and hosts, Calvin and Jeannie, are wonderful people who will make you feel right at home. Though tent camping sites are available, we decided to splurge and rent a glamping cabin with a king bed. It was the perfect blend of luxury and the rustic feel of being in nature. We enjoyed meandering around the well marked trails and relaxing at the river, just a short walk from the campground. The spring birds were plentiful, allowing a quiet alternative to the more crowded Tawas spots. The glamping cabin was immaculately clean, the bed was firm and the bedding was very nice. The ceiling fan, standing fan and mini heater allow for a comfortable sleeping and relaxing environment. We enjoyed afternoons in the hammock, evening fires and then relaxing in bed streaming our favorite Netflix shows while eating microwave popcorn (we brought the food and technology; microwave, fridge and wifi provided) Every camper knows the sacrifices made while visiting the restrooms and showers. No sacrificing needed here. The facilities are large and super clean. They even smell amazing and are tastefully decorated. We were provided with a golf cart to trek back and forth to the restroom which was appreciated at night. What a treat! The campground is primarily seasonal campers with many sites for RV's and more limited tent camping, with and without utilities. The crowd seems older and quiet though there is a cute little playground and lots of space for kids to explore nature. Our grandson would love fishing from the river. This visit may have been our first but it won't be our last. We almost hate to write this review and risk this gem becoming more popular. Alas, we want the owners to enjoy wild success as they provide such a wonderful place to enjoy nature.

This is a very quiet campground with spacious sites that are generously spaced out from one another. Another plus is that it is a small campground with only 19 sites. Campground host, Faith, is very engaging and accommodating. Lots of potential to observe all kinds of wildlife. Overall, this is a quiet campground and if you're seeking some period of solitude this is one is it!

Rules are a little unclear about capacity of each site.... was told originally 2 cars and 6 people per site but later told 6 people / 2 cars / 3 tents ..... then found a sign later that said 8 people to each site (2 cars rule still applies). Meh.. either way we booked two spots because we had 4 vehicles. No big deal.

From the moment I arrived, Chuck and Richard welcomed me with warmth and genuine hospitality. They go above and beyond to create a friendly and accommodating environment for all their guests. It's clear that they take pride in maintaining a well-run park that prioritizes a great experience for responsible campers. The campground is ideally located near the charming town of Tawas City, where you'll find delightful shops, cozy restaurants, and a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for strolling around and soaking up the local flavor. Lake Huron's stunning beaches are just a short drive away, offering breathtaking views and a perfect place to relax or take a refreshing dip. For fellow anglers, this place is a dream! Most people we met had been going there for years. The pool is gorgeous and well maintained. Right across from Lake Huron and a very sandy beach that is shallow for a long ways out and not at all rocky. So glad we gave Duggans a try. Put our names on the waiting list for a permanent site. Happy to have found the perfect up north place!

We rode on the seasonal road and enjoyed a leisurely ride through the park. You should definitely drive through this gorgeous area when in Rose City. It's well worth it.
