Amazing - Let me start with a little background. When I first moved to Southern California I was fortunate enough to win this crazy a$$ membership to a place in Beverly Hills (where I lived only a block away from at the time) called The Shave. It was managed by this bad ass named Adam and it was the place. I used to go every Mon-Wed-Fri and get a shave, a whiskey and every Friday a fresh hair cut. It was the shit. My raffle expired after the year and no way I could keep that going. It was something like 8 G'$ a year. What I did keep going though was finding special little places that specialized in straight razor shaves. Well, in Laguna beach Logan Bros is that place. The treatment, hot foam, hot towels, razor, relaxation, powder after, then walk down grab a local beer, some grub, the beach. This is it. Fantastic local straight shave. Short version: Go see Joe. STRONGLY/VIGOROUSLY recommend Joe! Long version: I was next door getting turned into Luke Skywalker on the planet Hoth and noticed this place adjacent. (Cryo Haus) It was a Wednesday early afternoon so not busy. Joe immediately sat me down and i basically went over what I normally do. Ten minutes in I realized this wasn't your mom & pop shave & a haircut, two bits, kind of place. Joe is an artist and intrinsically cares about the work/cut/shave he performs. Actually, that last sentence doesn't do enough to describe Joe's work ethic and his attention to detail. Having used electrically shavers on my beard at home I know the sound of me grasping at the last hair or two out of place. I clearly heard Joe working to get every single hair cut to the perfect length, in line and in the perfect place. We got to talking and I learned he's worked on a lot of different types of heads and hair. From USMC cuts to high-end styling, Joe is now my guy because I saw/heard his attention to detail. His styling this week was moderately different than I normally get cut, but I gave him a general idea and let me run with it. The Mrs is very happy. I'm very happy. Hit or miss spot from my experience. Guy next to me asked for same buzz cut and had questions from his barber as well being offered a drink. Neither happened with my guy. The website mentions shaving your neck and cleaning up the edges with a shave. Didn't happen. They weren't doing shaves on Saturday, out of towels they said. The barber to my left is likely the guy the website creator envisioned. Worth a shot for $15. read more

I rolled up with my son who is 5yo first thing Friday Morning and it was definitely worth the super quick wait... Kevin greeted us at the door and offered my son something to drink and was very hospitable. The barbershop doubles as a surfboard-tune-up station - which is genius, because it's less than an 8 second tumble right out the door to the stairs down to the sand and waves!! Kevin had cut both of my sons' hair before - Mohawks, Comb-Overs, Hard-Parts, Pompadours... you name it - my boys and I have done that style and still greasin' it up. I have always been intrigued by this shop when we are in Laguna Beach for the month of August. I decided to give it a try and since I really needed a cut. I didn't know any of the barbers so I just took the first available appointment which happened to be Ethan. Always a bit risky. Ethan was absolutely amazing. He really listened to what I wanted-gradual fade, razored in part, and textured on the top. Not only did he deliver an amazing haircut, but he also gave me great advice on how to keep my new short stubble looking very cool. Plus he is really fun to talk with. I've been coming here for years and have not been disappointed. All of the guys are great so I don't have a preference. I love that they did not take the deadly poison jab. That is important to me since so many people are being affected negatively by the jab (directly and indirectly by shedding). Wouldn't want my barber to have a heart attack while cutting my hair. That would be awkward. Very professional and great at what they do. True artists. The beer in the fridge is a nice touch too. No long waits and easy to make an appointment. I wanted to love this place. Really. The space is cool, the guys are fun, the beer is free. Feels like you've stepped into a better time in a better place. Oh, they also gave my son one hell of a haircut. He looked terrific. So, the problem: the shave. This wasn't just a bad shave. This was a bloody, painful, terrible shave. Left with deep cuts in my face. And, weirdly, stubble. Seriously, it would be disappointing enough if the guy just cut me. But that happens. In this case, he cut me (a lot) while shaving me (not so much). Weird, right? I went home and... shaved. That can't be good. In their defense, it was actually the second time I've gone in for a hot towel shave. The first time, aces. The barber knew his stuff, cleaned me up, and kept me laughing. Really a terrific experience. This time, though, the poor guy was just... bizarrely new to shaving. And that's not great. I don't shave myself with a straight razor because a) I'd do a terrible job and b) I'd leave myself a bloody mess. Hard to justify paying $35 to have a stranger do the same. Also, mildly terrifying. It really is a sign of just how much I liked these guys that I'm giving three stars. I mean, I'm giving three freakin' stars to a dude who drew blood with a straight razor. That's one REALLY nice guy. Hoping just maybe they'll see this and let the shaving superstars do the shaving and the stylists cut hair. Maybe? Less dangerous for all. Shave on. read more

I was exited to get my beard shape and trim at this place but the barber with full of tattoos was a little rude, no personality at all, I asked him to shape my beard, he said trust me ! Well I did, and I end up with a fuck up beard that took me long time to growth, he gave me a scotch terrier look, with one mustache longer then the other one. Ruined my haircut because he gave me a cholo lines on my sideburn. I had to have a new haircut and beard trim again. I don't understand why barbers in town has so poor attitude and skills.they act worse that a gay diva hair stylist ! Well at least those bitches made their job good. This place has some great barbers but also one really poor barber. I would highly recommend this place to anybody as long as they don't get their hair cut by Jason foster. This man learned how to cut hair in prison and hasn't taken the time to improve his skills. I've had my hair cut by him twice and the first time I gave him the benefit of the doubt and figured he's new and might be learning. But the most recent cut I got from him was just horrible. He didn't listen to what I requested at all, I left bleeding because of how brutal he is with his trimmers, and he cut off part of my eyebrow. HOW DO YOU CUT SOMEBODYS EYEBROW AS A BARBER? Again, great place, just choose your barber wisely. read more
