I have a family member who also works with this agency. She was receiving notifications about shifts at East Jefferson hospital but not me. Being from another state I was looked at a transient instead of someone who had been wanting to move here for years. I was getting really frustrated and decided to call in some professional help. I called and emails all of the "recruiters" and "head hunters" in the area. The first person to reply was Amy Shanks. And she was amazing. Her personality, smarts and connections in NOLA after almost two decades here gets the job done. At my initial interview with her she explained what she does for her clients. (Think sports agent) And then...she did it. She got me interviews I never would of gotten on my own and then negotiated a fantastic salary package. Amy made herself available for questions and pre interview pep talks. She also is one of the most genuinely lovely people I've met in New Orleans. Ahhhhh I never want to leave!! Rice Mill Lofts should be THE model for all rental institutions in…read morethe city! Not only are the lofts incredibly gorgeous, but the resident services are second to none! The property managers here are always quick to respond and fix any problems that arise, which was the complete opposite of my last living situation. They really do go the extra mile every single time to do what they can to make you happy. My boyfriend and I are so fortunate to be able to live here! They offer vast amenities including a rooftop with an amazing view of the city with plenty of chairs, tables, and lounge chairs for your disposal. It really is the perfect place to host guests. There is also a beautiful saltwater pool on the first floor that I can't wait to take advantage of in the summer! Even better is that there is an amazing restaurant in the building called Mariza! That's like a dream for a foodie like me to have such a great restaurant be so accessible. The lofts themselves have high ceilings, polished concrete floors, exposed brick and wood beams, designer appliances, etc. Pretty much how the loft of my dreams would look. Depending on which loft and floor, your view out the window could also be of the Mississippi river and Downtown New Orleans. I can only hope to be that lucky one day! It's also located in a great area that's lively filled with ambitious and creative individuals that only fuel your own ambitions. Lots of great restaurants and bars, and you're also a short bike ride from the French Quarter without being in the middle of the chaos. I wouldn't have it any other way! Rice Mill is worth every penny and I don't know of any other place in New Orleans that could top it.

THIS PLACE IS NOT CHILD FRIENDLY!!!! As a matter of fact, children are seen but not heard…read more However, if you are an adult who parties and "other things", you are more than welcomed at this place. The property manager, Katherine, cries all the time, especially when you have to confront her about issues regarding the property and lofts. She also GOSSIPS about everyone. She has her favorites, so watch out...and she's very sneaky about asking questions about your neighbors. This is suppose to be a "community", but Katherine pits neighbors against neighbors and makes everyone very uncomfortable. We more mature neighbors affectionately call this, Rice Mill High. There is a lot of not so nice stuff happening here too. Several of us have confronted the management company about Katherine and happenings within The Rice Mill however, they chose to ignore it, even though we had proof. Others have done the same with no avail. Katherine acts like a victim and does not treat her "customers" as customers. She is very unprofessional. Further, off/on there is a scent of marijuana in the elevators. It has been noted as emails have been sent to tenants, even though the onsite manager knows who this is and refuses to deal with it. Oh and beware....the cameras in the office are not just video recorded but voice recorded. Katherine chooses what she wants to share and deletes the rest. READ your lease thoroughly and ASK lots of QUESTIONS....if there is anything you are concerned about, put it in writing BF you sign the lease. Make sure, before you sign the lease, to do a very thorough walk-through and document every defect. Yes, they are pet friendly and friendlier to pets than to children. The parking lot, at times has pet poo everywhere, I've stepped in it, yuck! When several of us confronted the office about it, Katherine says she cannot be out there all the time (but there are cameras and big brother is always watching or she is suppose to be watching....we all know who the culprit was as several of us watched from our windows...but again, Katherine's pet tenants (her favorites). On the 4th of July, one of the tenants has a massive party by the pool (you are only allowed 4 guest per loft by the pool)...the drinking, music and "other stuff", have been so bad we've seen people passed out by the pool and barely able to walk down the hallway. We complained to on-sight property management, but it was still allowed to happen. One day we also witnessed tenants having races down the hallways with the storage carts. When we complained, we were told that management didn't witness it, so there was nothing that could be done! REALLY??? Again, The Rice Mill High School. Lastly, the apartment.com website says that you are offered complimentary yoga classes on the rooftop (NOT); Concierge service, (NOT); monthly roof top gatherings, like "wine & cheese", (NOT), and many more services...again, (NOT). When confronted about all of this with on-site property management, they continually blame one of the owners for not allowing this, but yet that is one of the things that sold us to the lofts. The Rice Mill has very little amenities for the price and there is not a fitness center. The property is lined with fruit trees, but if you are caught picking the fruit (which at time are hanging off the trees and falling on the ground), you are fined! As a matter of fact, you are fined for everything...so be prepared to run up a pretty little bill every month. There are a lot of rules and the rules change constantly. If I remember right there was like a 20 page addendum to the lease...(maybe more)...ridiculous! I can say however, the lofts are very nice. The counter tops are marble (which takes a lot of maintenance) so make sure when you do your walk through to check for nicks/discoloration and document. The appliances are Bosch...but the lower end. Make sure Katherine goes over every aspect of maintenance with you as she will blame you for failure to properly take care of everything and will take no responsibility for herself. She blames everyone else, including the maintenance manager, which she throws under the bus, but never takes responsibility herself.

Having the skills,…read moreexperience and wherewithal means little to the poorly trained, unmotivated, staffing managers who are abysmally lacking in simple courtesy. They hide behind generic job descriptions without having any foreknowledge about the job itself, they never return phone calls, and they treat their candidates like dirt. I'm one of them and I fully intend to raise the roof about this particular office. ANY other division of Office Team across the US is a thousand times more effectual in their job matching abilities and they at least return a phone call and treat you with respect. This is why recruiting companies are going away, because of offices like this one. One point I'd like to make, without Office Team's help, I was able to land a terrific job and I am always the decision maker in my role when it comes time to call upon the services of a staffing agency. Office Team will never be mentioned in any conversation that isn't prefaced by seething contempt. You should terminate the entire office, salt the earth and start over.
