I always did my own taxes.. Until 2012, which was so full of changes for me that I wasn't really…read moresure how to proceed. I figured I finally needed a tax professional to make sure I was doing everything correctly, but life was so busy I missed the April 15 deadline, probably partly because I felt so overwhelmed this year. Then I received a super scary letter from the IRS about a very large amount of money that I supposedly owed from 2011. And by the time I actually got around to opening the letter, (yeah it's been one of those years) the deadline was in three days. And it was Sunday. I called Miriam first thing Monday morning. She told me to come on in, no problem. She was calm, friendly, and instantly made me feel like it was all going to be ok. She finished all of my 2012 taxes in just a couple hours, navigating easily through what I would consider one tricky circumstance after another. I had expected to potentially owe money this year, but instead she found me a substantial refund! She solved the issue with 2011 the next day, filing an amended return to meet the deadline, despite the fact that she was booked that entire day! I imagine she must have worked a lot of overtime to help me out, it was so above and beyond, I was amazed. And for all of this she charged me a very reasonable fee, with no additional cost for the rush job. She figured out that I didn't actually owe anything, in fact she got me an additional refund! I can't say enough good things about my experience, basically Miriam took away all my stress and left me with a whole lot more money! Bottom line- I will never do my own taxes again, I will be going back to Miriam forever.

I was referred to Mary…read moreafter my former accountant was unable to balance the books for my business and began "estimating" my tax liability. He also was unable to provide basic advice regarding business and personal deductions. No such problems with Mary. First, her attitude is the best. I've called her at all hours and at the worst times. Try calling your accountant on April 15 at 4:30 and see what happens. Mary is always prepared, knowledgeable, and pleasant. She has time for her clients and is always a pleasure. I actually enjoy my phone time with her. Second, she knows what she is doing. She's not shy about telling you about adjustments to your tax returns that would be beneficial. Her work product is outstanding. Third, she's timely. I haven't had to worry about Mary running late. I'm always late. But she manages to fix the problem and meet the deadlines. The highest compliment I can pay to Mary and her staff is that I've referred my friends and colleagues to her. They love her too.
