First visit to this theatre and what a pleasant surprise…read more This theatre is part of a conglomerate of other theaters and so much cleaner, customer friendly and up to date. An employee came into the theater and told everyone we would be refunded for our tickets, refunded for our food, and given comp tickets for the inconvenience. We stood in an extremely long line just to refund our food, and instead of simply processing the refund, they took the food back, even though it was obviously just going to be thrown away. It felt petty, almost like a punishment for asking for our money back. The process was disorganized and unnecessarily complicated. We were then told to stand in a separate line to refund our tickets. Even with my receipt, I was denied a refund because I didn't have the physical paper tickets. Instead, I was given comp tickets, which I didn't want, because after this experience I have no intention of returning. Despite what was announced to the entire theater, we were not given both refunds and comp tickets. Staff were rude, unapologetic, and showed zero concern for the inconvenience caused. Technical issues are understandable. Poor customer service is not. This entire experience felt dismissive and poorly managed. It was a major inconvenience.

I have no issues with claustrophobia, but if you do there is one tight squeeze that might be a problem. We were the only ones that signed up for the earliest tour that day and were lucky to have a private tour. The tour has informative history about the caverns with landmarks along the way. The most interesting thing we didn't know about is they have caving adventure tours where you shimny through holes and narrow spaces with a guide but our kids aren't old enough to partake. This was the first show cave in California and townspeople lived in them during harsh winters in the 1800s. There was a bar inside and a church and nails were even given to people to carve on the walls. Because of this there are signs of harm everywhere with soot, broken formations, and dirty coloration from human hand oils and even champagne poured on a rock formation. The caverns are huge and beautiful with some jaw-dropoing rooms. The walking tour is very safe though we loved the slight danger and claustrophobic feel of the Mercer Caverns. When you leave the shop has some cool historical items pulled from the caves on display like glass bottles, etc .. that are worth checking out.

The views of the lake are gorgeous, and the sound of the water adds such a calming, almost therapeutic vibe. We walked the full loop around the lake and also explored the nature trails that lead into the wooded areas, which made the experience feel even more immersive. There are plenty of scenic spots along the way to stop, take it in, and just enjoy being outside. It was nice seeing so many other people out walking and enjoying the space as well. The environment felt very clean, safe, and welcoming. It's also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus if you like bringing your pups along for the day. There are a couple of bathrooms conveniently located along the path, and parking is flexible - you can either find street parking or pay to park inside the park. If you're looking for something more active, they also offer kayak rentals. From what I saw, it's around $25 for a single kayak for an hour, and tandem options are available as well. You can check availability and book online. Overall, this is such a great spot to unwind, get some fresh air, and reconnect with nature. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Inside this riparian forest I found all sorts of visual designs and patterns, especially with shades, shadows, and light playing in their space. The only distractions I had were the curious squirrels showing off their acorns. I wanted to touch a tree, but I didn't because the hammock-shaped spiderwebs creeped me out a bit. This area was their home. At first, I intended to chill at the section called Lodi Lake Beach. It was closed off with orange nets. I'm guessing it was for the protection of baby turtles. Hello world, little ones This recreational area has various activities for stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), boating, kayaking, fishing, day camping, sunbathing, picnicking, BBQ, biking, walking, wildlife photography, and people-watching, maybe even more. Other sights to see are their garden beds, lots of cool birds, and friendly squirrels. Here's a great escape from a routine work week!

I tried to get tickets Friday evening at around 8:45 and they weren't available (see screenshots for evidence). However, we went and there was no line to get tickets, and we had a great time. Great value as you get to try lots of wine for a relatively low price (compared to a day of wine tasting in Napa/Sonoma. Good people watching, spectacular location, safe and very well laid out. My only complaint was the long lines for food.

A little confusing based on the fact they make you buy your tickets ahead of time...this was all due to the fact that they have people that need to put wrist bands on you? So this is what took away the star for me. The logistics need some serious help! Now you couldn't pick a better spot in Lodi than Lodi lake park for this festival. They have everything spread out really well on both sides of the lake so things aren't so super crowded. I thought they had tons of selection of all the great wineries from the Lodi area and even though based on the some the other reviews I would much rather hang with these locals and who this attracts....besides based on how many grapes Lodi is trucking to Napa might as well stay here anyway. Lol! We had a great chance to sample all of our favorites plus some new choices. They also give you the opportunity to have wine by the glass as well. One super nice perk was the free bottles water and bread. I personally thought they could have had more food options knowing how many awesome food trucks are in the area but did enjoy sampling some of what they had. Also for the size of the venue could have had a few more vendors to look at while wine tasting. Either way had a great time and would for sure come back again.

Update 04-29-2012…read more Biking up Hutchins St past Legion Park, I noticed a Tennis Ball across the street from the Tennis Courts in the Park. Couldn't throw it back... because all the Tennis Players were gone. Took back the brand new Ball to Joe, my Dog.... Kept him busy for hours. Thank you... inept Tennis Players... Original Review 04-01-2008 Where to go to play Tennis in Lodi? And at night? My favorite place is at Legion Park on Hutchins street. There are four courts, AND there is also night lighting! In Lodi, there is also Kofu Park, about a mile West of Legion Park with 5 courts and a couple of tennis hitting walls and courtside bench seating... but Kofu attracts a "different" type of park goer. And Kofu is aimed more for larger group sports activities such as baseball and skateboarding. The second reason why I like this small park is that there is a small grove of tall trees at the West end of the park. The shade produced by those trees is sooooo inviting in the Summer! Just makes you want to set up a hammock and start taking a nap. Kofu Park, on the other hand, looks so HOT in the Summer... There is absolutely no trees... you can't put up trees near a baseball diamond or near a skateboarding course! I've always grown up equating a park with trees! Another reason why I dislike Kofu Park is the Lodi Municipal Garage situated right next to the park! There are City of Lodi vehicles that can include cop cars, city vehicles... essentially anything motorized that is owned by the City of Lodi, that passes right by the Tennis Courts. Sometimes the congestion is awful! Legion Park, also known as American Legion Park, also has a small playground for the little tykes in the family. Other sports activities is a basketball court (enclosed). There is also a picnic / barbecue area (3 picnic tables) for city park picnics or outside get-togethers. I understand that reservations are required, though. More family oriented that most other parks in Lodi, without the vagrancy prevalent in the more isolated parks in Lodi. Small enough that no member of your family would get lost, and more than enough type of activities to keep you busy. Note that night Tennis only until 11pm. Where to play Tennis if all the Tennis Courts in Lodi are filled? Get a list of apartment complexes that have lit courts... just act like you're a resident, and you've got it made!

For a laid-back lifestyle and growing families, this might be a place you'll consider. It still has a mediocre small town feel. New residences are still being developed, so housing is available. There are a good amount of grocery stores and shopping plazas with restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, milk tea cafes, schools, and various necessary, local or daily services. There's enough. If you choose a more upbeat pace, there's Stockton southbound, or Sacramento northbound. A less busier international airport is under an hour away. The drawback is, for commutes, you need a car. The BART system hasn't extended out this far yet. It wouldn't be feasible for me to accept employment over an hour's drive away. During my visit to my sister's place, there was pleasant weather. Aside from a surprise electrical storm passing through, I saw mostly blue skies, fluffy clouds, and a bright sun. (Until this city improves their public transportation availability, I'll postpone any decision to move closer to family.) Those were, however, perfect and beautiful days at the beginning of autumn.
