The views of the lake are gorgeous, and the sound of the water adds such a calming, almost therapeutic vibe. We walked the full loop around the lake and also explored the nature trails that lead into the wooded areas, which made the experience feel even more immersive. There are plenty of scenic spots along the way to stop, take it in, and just enjoy being outside. It was nice seeing so many other people out walking and enjoying the space as well. The environment felt very clean, safe, and welcoming. It's also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus if you like bringing your pups along for the day. There are a couple of bathrooms conveniently located along the path, and parking is flexible - you can either find street parking or pay to park inside the park. If you're looking for something more active, they also offer kayak rentals. From what I saw, it's around $25 for a single kayak for an hour, and tandem options are available as well. You can check availability and book online. Overall, this is such a great spot to unwind, get some fresh air, and reconnect with nature. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Inside this riparian forest I found all sorts of visual designs and patterns, especially with shades, shadows, and light playing in their space. The only distractions I had were the curious squirrels showing off their acorns. I wanted to touch a tree, but I didn't because the hammock-shaped spiderwebs creeped me out a bit. This area was their home. At first, I intended to chill at the section called Lodi Lake Beach. It was closed off with orange nets. I'm guessing it was for the protection of baby turtles. Hello world, little ones This recreational area has various activities for stand-up paddle boarding (SUP), boating, kayaking, fishing, day camping, sunbathing, picnicking, BBQ, biking, walking, wildlife photography, and people-watching, maybe even more. Other sights to see are their garden beds, lots of cool birds, and friendly squirrels. Here's a great escape from a routine work week!

Looks like you have to reserve picnic sites but plan accordingly, I rode up on a Garden Club having a flower show in one of the buildings, I went in and was welcomed with open arms. The flowers were amazing! Their meeting was going to start so I left and rode over to the beautiful rose garden! Highly recommend

This park has an entrance fee before you can even go in. We paid $6 per vehicle. This park has different areas of picnic areas. The shelter type areas are reserved areas. You'll have to rent these in advanced. If you have a large party with the inflatable jump houses, you'll need reservations as well. For the smaller areas of picnic tables, it's first come first serve kind of thing. Driving around the park is pretty. You'll have to pay close attention for the curvy roads and one way signs. Inside this park, there's a Micke Grove zoo! I heard it's a small one but we didn't have time to check it out. There's also a Japanese Garden. We're very intrigued and will have to come back to check it out. There is also Fun Town, an 18 hole disc golf, water play feature, a lake, and much more. I am sure I've left out quite a bit. You'll have to check out their website for the latest updates and information. Overall, we enjoyed our day here!!

Unfortunately, dog parents are not good about picking up after their dogs even though dog poop bags are provided along with plenty of trash cans throughout park. Also, some dog parents are not experienced so sometimes dogs will show dominance and not be corrected. It's unfortunate that a few bad people can ruin the experience for the rest of us considerate responsible dog owners!!

Things to like about Beckman Park as a dog park (big dog area): (1)HUGE. Your pup can run and run…read moreand run. (2) Shade. Plenty of trees on the upper areas of the park for those days when your pup wants to run but you want to loaf in the shade. (3) Huge. Yes, I know I already said it was huge, but it really is. (4) Poop bag dispensers near each of the entry gates. (5) Some users are good citizens - putting found toys (balls, discs, etc) near the gates for their owners to find, randomly filling the water bowls, etc. Things where Beckman Park could be better: (1) Both entries to the large dog area are single gates, so it's easy for dogs to slip past others trying to get in/out, and escape out to the street. (2) The poop bag dispensers are not always stocked, so bring a bag or two of your own, just in case. (3) Some dog owners do not pick up after their dogs, so lawn grenades can be a problem. (4) The park is bisected into an off-leash area and a leashed area, but the dividing line is not fenced. It IS marked by a sign, but my dog can't read. (5) There is no water available in the big dog area for dogs. Hence, the good citizens who provide water randomly. Most of the owners - and dogs - using this park are friendly and easy going. If your dog gets a little rambunctious, a sincere apology is usually all it takes to clear the air. Dogs being dogs, they like to sniff each others' butts and chase each other around, and most owners seem to understand that.
