Is a $6 entry fee on weekends and holidays a $5 entry fee on weekdays. You get a ticket that you leave in your dashboard so you can park anywhere within the park. There are multiple pavilions that you can rent for a party or get together there is a lot of different parking spots a bunch of different playgrounds within these park as a rose garden very small but it's in there and a Japanese garden which is also very small and then a small zoo which has a small fee. The park seemed pretty clean

They charge admission to enter the park. There's also a charge for Fun Town and the zoo. It's understandable to charge for the zoo but Fun Town has kids playground activities which isn't much different than other parks, such as Elk Grove Regional and Southside Park. There isn't an extra charge to enter the Japanese garden. It's available to the public. There's a lovely Koi pond and a Shinto shrine. There's a number of picnic tables and the park is kept clean. You can tell the city workers make an effort to clean the park regularly.

Took my son and niece here last month and loved it. Entering the Japanese Garden, I felt instant peace and relaxation. It's small but beautiful. Loved the koi and calming waterfalls. My little niece enjoyed the playground. Looking forward to my husband's work company picnic here next month.

What a disappointing day. I grew up in Lodi and I have been to Micke Grove Park dozens and dozens of times. I enjoyed coming here as a kid in the 90's (yeah, you heard me) playing at "Fun Town", going to the zoo and hopping along the stones in the pond inside the Japanese Garden. When my son was young, I brought him here a few times because I had such fond memories, but as an adult, I realized it was really no better than any other park. The Funderwoods area was crumbling. The zoo was actually quite sad and disappointing and he was never interested in the museum filled with old farming equipment. It has probably been 8 or 10 years since I have been here, so I decided to bring my dog today and get some steps in. We paid the $5 weekday entry fee + the additional $1 pet fee (I have attached photos of some of the park rules and fees in case that helps) and then drove through a labyrinth of curvy roads to get to the parking area. It was distressing to see the condition of the park as you drive through. There were piles of branches and debris and everything was covered in leaves. We finally reached the parking near the Japanese Garden and zoo and there were cones around fallen branches and trucks parked in the lot but no one cleaning up the mess. IMO, the only thing worth doing as an adult at this park would be a visit to the Japanese Garden. It's very small and not nearly as nice as any you would find up north or in the bay, but for the area, it's something. As we approached we saw a sign advising that the garden is only open from 9am-1pm (see photos) and there are no dogs allowed. Oh and don't try bringing a dog in a satchel or stroller either because they have specific signs against that as well. I was discouraged but I had already paid the entry fee so I walked around the park for an hour or so. Honestly, it only got worse. This park is literally rotting. The wooden picnic tables are rotting and falling apart. Grass is overgrown and covered with leaves and poo. I had to wash my shoes when I got home because the tops had some sort of brown film on them after walking in the grass. The only new area with a small pond and some play equipment was also completely covered in old leaves but the extreme goose poop was the worst of it. I kept getting wafts of death and decay and it was so depressing that I finally left. I did see new administrative type buildings in the park with employees standing around but I honestly don't know what the county is doing. I read, after heading home, that the county has given them MILLIONS to work on this place and add putt-putt or something, but they should probably invest that money in better employees and management. Lodi Lake is a much better option if you want a nice enjoyable afternoon in the area.

Neat park for kids. Beautiful Japanese garden with koi fishes. Helpful workers. Clean park. Plenty of parking. Awesome place!!

Pet friendly alert! You pay to ($5) to get in but the park so huge you will appreciate how much you can walk the dogs to stretch a legs (especially during a road trip). It takes you a few miles off the highway but a proper rest is important!!!! Dogs must be on the leash though ample space for them to explore. There is a Japanese garden that looked beautiful from outside but with dogs cannot be allowed inside.

I was pretty excited to take my kids here. Seemed like it had a lot of activities to do. We came on a Sunday so entrance cost $6. First stop we went to was the zoo which opens at 10am. There is a separate entrance fee. We were the first ones there which was nice. We sept a good amount of time there for such a small zoo. Some exhibits, the animals weren't awake or visible. My daughters loved seeing the different animals. There's plenty of shade everywhere. Unfortunately Funtown was closed which was a huge bummer. I wasn't sure whether it was open or not. I wish their website was updated to say it was closed. Across the zoo was the Japanese Garden. Cute little place to take pictures. They also hold wedding ceremonies which it had looked like, one was being set up. There's large ponds with rocks that go across to the other side. My daughters enjoyed it, almost like a game. Again tons of shade which we like. Even though it was Lodi, it didn't seem that hot. Last thing we did was have a picnic and had my girls play at the playground. There's plenty of playgrounds around this park. We picked one with the least amount of people. There were a few parties going on at some other playgrounds. Beware to not sit under the canopy picnic tables, those are for rented events only. We happened to be eating and some people were getting ready to set up for a party and the park employee nicely asked us to sit at a bench. There's also a historical museum but we didn't drop by. I think my kids are too young to enjoy it. Otherwise I'd definitely come back, when Funtown opens up.

Outside area with lots of shade to picnic on.

3 stars. Understandably hardly any animals:( but grounds are shady and clean. Can take a lunch to picnic while there. I wouldn't drive a distance to get there right now. And they don't keep up on their website hours or any animals. We saw birds that were injured and rehabilitating there. We saw a possum, a mountain lion sleeping, & a couple little black handed spider monkeys ... all the animals looked sad to me. It was only 72 degrees and they were all laying around. I am not sure I can go to zoos any longer. Most of the habitats are small and especially for the Condor which has a 9.5 foot wing span. He can't fly in that cage!! And the vulture.... he needs to stick his face in dead carcasses to live his fullest & authentic self! Geez... I feel terrible now. but we helped keep their habitat clean and food on the table for these animals by visiting. And I learned that some of the birds need a partner .. (opposite sex) in order to not glean themselves until they have scabs and bleed:( Saw a bald headed Igris? doing just that. (Another thing I can't unsee) Yes, I did talk to the Park reps (as I was concerned for this bird that happens to be on the high extinction list), and learned he is getting medication for this condition from Davis Medicine. Maybe it's time to let him go?! they hope he will mate with a female by the end of the year, but.... geez... he's bleeding and scabbed over. Not sure if she'll be attracted to that, but I'm not a bird!! Hopefully so. But she was there last year and picked someone else. ok... I'm done. Only $5 to park and enjoy the grounds outside and picnic.

Far better than the Sacramento Zoo at a fraction of the cost ($5 per adult). The Japanese Botanical Garden is beautiful and the e tire park as a whole seems to be very well kept.

The biggest park I ever seen! The admission to enter the park for BBQ or for a walk is $6/per car. It is a great place to have family gathering and BBQ together. I came here on Sunday afternoon around 1PM and the park looks busy with many graduations, birthday, baby showers celebration. I came here for the small Japanese garden located inside the park. I don't know why the garden close so early at 2 PM on weekend. I didn't get to enjoy much as I though the Japanese garden usually close at sunset. The park is open just the Japanese garden close at 2PM. There is a small zoo too but I didn't get a chance to go there.

The views of the lake are gorgeous, and the sound of the water adds such a calming, almost therapeutic vibe. We walked the full loop around the lake and also explored the nature trails that lead into the wooded areas, which made the experience feel even more immersive. There are plenty of scenic spots along the way to stop, take it in, and just enjoy being outside. It was nice seeing so many other people out walking and enjoying the space as well. The environment felt very clean, safe, and welcoming. It's also dog-friendly, which is a huge plus if you like bringing your pups along for the day. There are a couple of bathrooms conveniently located along the path, and parking is flexible - you can either find street parking or pay to park inside the park. If you're looking for something more active, they also offer kayak rentals. From what I saw, it's around $25 for a single kayak for an hour, and tandem options are available as well. You can check availability and book online. Overall, this is such a great spot to unwind, get some fresh air, and reconnect with nature. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Couldn't throw it back... because all the Tennis Players were gone. Took back the brand new Ball to Joe, my Dog.... Kept him busy for hours. Thank you... inept Tennis Players... Original Review 04-01-2008 Where to go to play Tennis in Lodi? And at night? My favorite place is at Legion Park on Hutchins street. There are four courts, AND there is also night lighting! In Lodi, there is also Kofu Park, about a mile West of Legion Park with 5 courts and a couple of tennis hitting walls and courtside bench seating... but Kofu attracts a "different" type of park goer. And Kofu is aimed more for larger group sports activities such as baseball and skateboarding. The second reason why I like this small park is that there is a small grove of tall trees at the West end of the park. The shade produced by those trees is sooooo inviting in the Summer! Just makes you want to set up a hammock and start taking a nap. Kofu Park, on the other hand, looks so HOT in the Summer... There is absolutely no trees... you can't put up trees near a baseball diamond or near a skateboarding course! I've always grown up equating a park with trees! Another reason why I dislike Kofu Park is the Lodi Municipal Garage situated right next to the park! There are City of Lodi vehicles that can include cop cars, city vehicles... essentially anything motorized that is owned by the City of Lodi, that passes right by the Tennis Courts. Sometimes the congestion is awful! Legion Park, also known as American Legion Park, also has a small playground for the little tykes in the family. Other sports activities is a basketball court (enclosed). There is also a picnic / barbecue area (3 picnic tables) for city park picnics or outside get-togethers. I understand that reservations are required, though. More family oriented that most other parks in Lodi, without the vagrancy prevalent in the more isolated parks in Lodi. Small enough that no member of your family would get lost, and more than enough type of activities to keep you busy. Note that night Tennis only until 11pm. Where to play Tennis if all the Tennis Courts in Lodi are filled? Get a list of apartment complexes that have lit courts... just act like you're a resident, and you've got it made!

Plenty of trees on the upper areas of the park for those days when your pup wants to run but you want to loaf in the shade. (3) Huge. Yes, I know I already said it was huge, but it really is. (4) Poop bag dispensers near each of the entry gates. (5) Some users are good citizens - putting found toys (balls, discs, etc) near the gates for their owners to find, randomly filling the water bowls, etc. Things where Beckman Park could be better: (1) Both entries to the large dog area are single gates, so it's easy for dogs to slip past others trying to get in/out, and escape out to the street. (2) The poop bag dispensers are not always stocked, so bring a bag or two of your own, just in case. (3) Some dog owners do not pick up after their dogs, so lawn grenades can be a problem. (4) The park is bisected into an off-leash area and a leashed area, but the dividing line is not fenced. It IS marked by a sign, but my dog can't read. (5) There is no water available in the big dog area for dogs. Hence, the good citizens who provide water randomly. Most of the owners - and dogs - using this park are friendly and easy going. If your dog gets a little rambunctious, a sincere apology is usually all it takes to clear the air. Dogs being dogs, they like to sniff each others' butts and chase each other around, and most owners seem to understand that.
