I've tried tamales all over town and nearby, and La Chiquita beats them all. They're always fresh, generously filled with meat, super flavorful, and have just the right little kick of spice. You can tell they're made with care and not mass-produced. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the size and how packed with filling they are. On top of that, the market has a great selection of fresh meats and delicious fresh salsas. The customer service is also excellent- the guys at the meat counter and the cashier are always friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which makes the experience even better every time we visit. Whether you're planning a BBQ or just craving homemade tamales, this place is a must. We'll definitely keep coming back!

You can taste the freshness in each kind of meat you get and can tell how much pride they take in having quality selections. Growing up my mom and grandma would send me sometimes as we lived close and i would be so clueless on what to get, the staff is always so helpful and informative. It definitely reminds me of the carnicerías in Mexico in all the best ways. From the cleanliness to friendliness, where better else to get your meats for those summer barbecues or just for a weekly dinner!

I'm from LA but have family in Sacramento, I saw on their website/ alongside google they were located in Lodi and that they were open. I decided to give them a call because of the long drive, the lady I spoke to said they had a private event the day I called and asked if I come over Monday or Tuesday which was really preferred for her. I agreed and went on Tuesday. When I arrived the place was very hard to locate. There is no sign or anything, it seems to be a private house. I called the number provided on their website and spoke to the lady again and she said they aren't open to the public and that they only accept cash and wanted me to leave it under the mat. Then why tell me to come Tuesday and that it was preferred to you?? She then said she would give me a call back to let me know if anyone else is there to help me. She never called me back, I gave her a few calls trying to reach her and it seems like she blocked me or is refusing to answer my calls Is that how you treat costumers? I normally don't write reviews but this was the worse experience I've had. I drove 45 mins plus for nothing and just to gain this experience. Do not tell your costumers to come on a day where you aren't even present and then GHOST them. You lost my business along side multiple family members and friends. I hope you fix this problem and fix your website so it doesn't give FALSE information to future costumers. Please fix yourselves and this problem.

Nice gals working at the register to take your order. Since it was almost Thanksgiving, I had a craving for a roasted turkey sandwich with cranberry sauce. The Cranberry Express was the closest choice. I ordered it on a french roll with cream cheese, a little mayo, cranberry sauce and the turkey meat. I must say that I was disappointed with how little turkey was placed in my sandwich. Nothing what I expected. Everything was fresh, however, there could've been a bit more turkey in between the bread. I left out the lettuce and tomato only. That would've fluffed it up. For the price of $13+, and comparing it to what I saw in their menu photos, I don't think I'd return anytime soon for a sandwich (half pictured). They have a wide selection of salads, baked goods, cold beverages, bottled wine and also a butcher shop here too.

She was very nice and helpful. We shared a piña con coco cocktail, which I really enjoyed. It had a spicy rim and was sweet, but not too sweet. We ordered the guacamole, which was made tableside. I ordered the enchiladas al comal, which looked really good. Unfortunately, I didn't love the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas and wished I had ordered a more traditional red or green sauce. But it was still good, and I can see why it's popular. I did enjoy the steak and vegetables inside the enchiladas. I was leaning toward a 4-star rating since I didn't love my enchiladas and wouldn't order them again. But Isabella's service was so excellent that it alone pushed my review to a 5.

The prickly pear margarita tasted more like a pink Jolly Rancher than anything else, which just wasn't for me. My fajitas were alright, but they came without any sour cream or guac and the pico was mainly onion. When I asked the waiter, he told me they don't come with it, even though the menu said otherwise. Without those, the fajitas ended up being really dry. I ended up just paying and getting ready to leave, but when I grabbed a menu again and asked about it, they apologized and offered me chips and salsa to go, which I appreciated. The staff was very nice throughout, but the whole experience felt a bit disorganized. Overall, it just didn't feel like a good value for the money, and I left pretty underwhelmed.
