Wait times were 45 minutes to two hours at the usuals. Saw Loco-Mex and decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately. Staff was friendly and attentive. Manager checked to be sure everything was okay. Drinks and chips in minutes and orders taken as soon as we could decide from the extensive men. Hot, delicious food brought out right away!! The salsa and warm chips were great. The chicken soup was really good. Wish it had been a bit more spicy but liked the avocado and lime. Really loud. But seems to be the only non chain around that is open and that serves food and alcohol past 9. (Yep I could be wrong but I stopped and drove by three other places). Seems pretty big. My all time favorite Mexican restaurant! The tortilla chips are the best, they are made fresh every day and are so crispy and thin! I hate a chip that's thick. The salsa is delicious and the queso is a must have when you go here! They have a huge menu with plenty of options, great portions and reasonable prices! They usually always have some kind of entertainment going on and specials throughout the week! Loco Mex is always a good time! read more

While visiting family in the area, we got a big order 'to go' and I have to say it was very good! My family eats here often so they love it, of course! The salsa could have been hotter... but it was tasty! I had a chicken taco salad and enjoyed it. Tons of yummy shredded chicken! Fresh guacamole..... mmm! Will return when in the area! read more

My family decided to give Loco-Mex a try this past weekend just to change things up. Unfortunately, the experience was not good from the moment we arrived. We walked in from the pouring rain and stood waiting for someone to acknowledge us for at least five minutes. We were seated next to a large, round, corner table in the back. The table was filled with a rowdy crowd of young people who were drinking. Several waitresses were taking turns taking breaks at the table and doing tequila shots with the others seated there. The food was horrible. The chips arrived cold (there's something about a warm basket of chips at a Mexican restaurant). My husband usually cleans his plate and he didn't finish one taco it was so bad. I ordered nachos and they were ok but arrived cold and soggy. Don't waste your time or money on Loco-Mex, I'm pretty sure people only go for the party.....and not the food!! read more

I really hate to post a bad review of this place because I have enjoyed food from here in the past.The chips and salsa are good and most of the time when I order out from here,the food is prepared within 15/20 minutes. However I order a taco salad in a bowl from there tonight and it was so full of grease that I couldn't even finish it.Im hoping the next time I eat here,it will be a lot better. read more

The food is ok. I had chicken enchiladas, fried beans, and Mexican rice. It's a cool spot if you just have a taste for Mexican food. There was a lot of flies in the building, not sure if this was due to the doors being opened a lot. I just pray the ppl in the kitchen were mindful and didn't let flies rest anywhere. I have tried to eat here on a couple of different occasions with friends and every time I have regretted it! I have had terrible service, a friend almost choked to death on a bone in a taco, and the next day is always spent running to the bathroom. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place at all cost unless you want to make the toilet your new best friend! read more

The food here was "OK'. It certainly wasn't bad but it lacked spice and flavor. The service was great though. The prices were a little high and I doubt I will return here unless I'm hard up for Mexican and/or I bring my own hot sauce. read more

Just left LocoMex. Party of 5. One diner bit down on a small rock in his Burrito Deluxe. Manager offered 50% discount. When paying the bill, waiter first charged 50% more than his bill. In the end, no discount was given. It was an $11 tab. Management should have given the meal for free and offered a voucher for his next meal. Would have cost the restaurant $20. NOW...5 people will never return there and 5 people will tell everyone they know not to go there. Service sucked after order taken. Drinks were not refilled without asking twice. Another diner had to go to kitchen to get Ranch dressing for salad. The Carne Quisada was actually a steak fieta plate. Food was not terribly bad, but it was bland. I love Loco Mex! I have eaten there dozens of times and consistently enjoy quick and attentive service and tasty food. They have the best chips and salsa in town. Don't forget Taco Tuesday: $1 per taco of your choice. I am a vegetarian and get bean tacos. Yum! read more

This restaurant is a hit or miss! I've been there countless time, busy or not. Half the time the food is cold or it's the best food you've eaten. They need to be more consistent with the quality of the food read more

I have given this place the benefit of doubt 3+ times. Now it's totally off my list. Tacos are tasteless unless leftover beef from the sink drain is your thing. Their taco Tuesday's have very little servings compared to the rest of the week. If you are in Jacksonville and in the mood for Mexican I suggest the California Baja Grill. read more

Personally I think Loco Mex is the best Mexican around here. I would choose this over Baja any day. Their chicken nachos are amazing and their chips and salsa are super good. I have never had a complaint about them. I would recommend this to anyone. Its worth a chance to try it at least once! I eat here at least once a week! read more

Just like everyone else, I believe the food here is average. As it barely scrapes the top of quality, it is shot down by a high price and a waiter or waitress who couldn't really care less about who you are and just waits for that next paycheck. You might want to avoid coming here on a late night as you will suprised by a group of buzzed college students who scare off families just wanting to grab a meal. Definitely not an in and out joint for people passing through Jacksonville, Alabama. read more
