EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! The young lady whom took my to go order misinformed me as to how the tamale was prepared and upon my return there to exchange that item for one that was actually lesser in cost than the tamale, she argued with me in front of numerous other customers causing me to feel embarrassed and extremely frustrated that someone such as this young woman is even in a position of customer service to say the very least! I even expressed to her that I am a new resident to the area whom would be a returning customer upon my satisfactory service but that still did not change her terribly rude demeanor towards myself. I've been in the line of costumer service upper management positions for decades and WOULD NEVER DARE treat a customer in the regard that I was treated by this young lady! read more

Been ordering more here past 3 months . I quit ordering the torta as it's gotten worse each time . Last night I ordered 2 of the chicken fajita bowls. No peppers or onions . After getting realizing this I called back only to be told "it's what you ordered" then hung up on. So today I go back with the food and told they will remake it for half price! Last weekend I was charged for a double order of steamed vegetables I didn't get . When I called they told me "both are in there". I order the vegs every time so I know that was a flat out lie. Was there earlier today, was a spur of the moment thing, came up in search. Boy was that a stroke of luck. Food was excellent, Decor is awesome. Took some food home for the wife and even after some time in the car it was still great. If your near or drive through Gadsden, make that one of your stops, well worth it. Fantastic food at a great price! I had heard good things and that this place had the best margaritas in town, and it is a spot on reputation! The place is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. The decor is very well done and looks like it wasn't cheap! The chips and salsa was very good, however the salsa could use a little more flavor. I found that adding in their very fresh pico de gallo and a little hot sauce makes it very good! The margarita reputation is well deserved! The top shelf margarita is one of the best I've ever had! Our server explained that a lot of places add water to their mix and El Patron doesn't do that. It shows! The food was fresh and hot, very tasty, and the portions will leave you stuffed! Since this dinner review I have already visited again, and I will continue to do so. The customer service and lack of empathy this restaurant has is despicable! They showed no regard for their customers! I ordered the steak fajita quesadilla and I received it with a strand of hair in my rice! I asked for it to be switched. When receiving my check, I asked for it to be "compensated" for my inconvenience, yet it was declined! I then asked for it to be discounted,and it was declined again! The manager then became very belligerent and hostile when I stated to him that, "I would be sending the picture to the health department." The manager stated, "Do it! Send it right now, I don't care!" My girlfriend went to the restroom; the stall door fell on her. That is definitely a SAFETY HAZARD! What if she was knocked unconscious? The manager was nonchalant about the stall being a hazard as well. If I were you, I would stay FAR AWAY from this place! There's no telling what else they will serve individuals that doesn't meet the health department standards. read more

Everyone has an off day, this was their's. This is my favorite restaurant for Mexican food. IJS, so I was extremly disappointed. I had a steak burrito w/rice and beans that tasted old. It was tough and inedible. The guacamole was just an avocado smashed into a cup without any type of seasoning in it. The chips and lemonade were delicious. Has the management changed? As I said their off day! They will be back as long as the food is fresh, hot, and seasoned like it used to be. I shall return. YUMMMM! I came here for lunch today and the food came out in a reasonable time despite the number of customers that were there. Would highly recommend the chimichangas. Our waiter allowed me to replace the refried beans with rice without a surcharge. Prices on the menu were around $6-$8 for lunch. Great amount of food for the price! I'll be back soon! read more

Ok, it's Christmas Eve and we can't find a place to eat. We have passed this place several times and they always have a crowd. We thought this was a good sign. They were open, parking lot almost full but we're seated immediately and we didn't have to wait long for the food. The salsa was very good. Like my wife describes it, "it has a slight bite but doesn't overwhelm you. Good Flavor" The kids ordered quesadillas. Even though our son thought the chicken was a little spicy, our daughter thought it was just right and she loved the red sauce. I had the chimichanga dinner and have enough to take some home. Now we know why their parking lot is always full. Will definitely eat here again next time we're in the neighborhood. read more

Mexican, for the most part can not be messed up. I think that where Mexican restaurants shine is their chips and salsa as well as the seasonings. El Patron had wonderful wait staff whom all helped each other out. If your glass of tea was low, it didn't stay that way long. The food was great and the salsa was good as well. Tortillas had more of a home cooked taste to them than the standard big box franchise taste most others do. It is definitely one of the better Mexican restaurants around here and I'll def be going back. I even asked if they had any other salsa or hotter salsa and the waiter brought me back some from the back and it did not disappoint! read more

I really like this place because the food is very good and if I had to say anything against this place it would be that the waitresses don't come around to check on you enough to see if you want anything and the margaritas could use more alcohol for their a little weak and the salsa is ground to finely and should be a little chunkier. read more

Went in for dinner tonight, first time ever being here. We were seated right away, chips and salsa before I could sit down. We ordered and had food before we finished our chips. The food was amazing! I've ate at a few places around town and haven't been impressed but here the food was melt in your mouth good. Even my 5 year old couldn't get enough. We were checked on several times by our server and the manager, my drink was never empty and they were fast about everything! I will be going back here! I'd give this more than 5 if I could! We went to El Patron's after church April 28, 2019. The food was plentiful and wonderful. Mid range prices. $25.00 for two people. Lots of hard surfaces so the sounds reverberate but that can't be helped. You will probably like it. read more
