I eat alone often and when I do I typically sit at the bar. Well I would highly discourage anyone from doing that here. It literally took 25 min and me asking to get a menu before I got a menu then I had to ask to have my order taken. 30 seconds later the wrong food came out. At that point I ate it bc I was exhausted and just wanted to go home. I typically go to Old Mexico for Mexican food but have been trying this place out last time or two. Cool Authentic Pleasant Attalla Latino dinery killin it with their delicious bewitching substantial menu. Indoor dining area classy and busy with date nights as well as family dining. Was visiting my Gadsden office and after long day headed to a recommended late night pad to blow off some steam and eats. Bloody M's certainly hit the spot. Excellent. Food is pretty bland, seafood is never fresh, salsa tastes like the jarred kind, cocktails are underwhelming.. the list goes on. Been meaning to try this place for awhile and just kind of keep forgetting. They are located in a strip mall type location so it doesn't stand out as anything fancy from the outside. But, once you get inside the décor is as traditional Mexican restaurant as you'll ever find! Took a minute to get seated, but literally a second to get a drink order and have chips/salsa/drink back to the table and checking to see if I knew what I wanted. Went with the lunch portion Steak Fajita ..... comes with guac salad (no thank you - hold this please) rice and beans (no beans all rice for me). Standard flour tortillas or you can request corn tortillas. Great seasoning on the steak and everything was really good. The salsa, at first, was just ok...but after a few extra chip dips it really grew on me and had just the right hint of heat. We were passing thru town on our way to TN and had been craving Mexican food. The guy working at the Cove Campground recommended this place. Really good food and great service. The inside of the restaurant is so beautiful. We ordered some beers and cheese dip with our meals. Everything was on point and the salsa was really really good. My only complaint is when you are leaving you cannot see out of the door, instead it's like a mirror. I nearly hit a child in the head with the door who was attempting to come in as I was going out. So fake, not even good Mexican food. Went today to get some lunch and checked the menu, saw Carnitas for a meat, no where on the menu. So I love other foods and ordered 4 chili relleno's to go. This is the best Mexican Restaurant around. My family and I are new to the area and of the 4 times we have eaten here, every time it's been delicious, whether it's dining in or take out, always super delicious. I've had the carnitas tacos, so yummy and very flavorful as well as the Texas Chimichanga which was also flavorful and yummy. My husband has had multiple things from here, shrimp tacos(could stand to be a bigger portion of shrimp), steak tacos, and the burrito Texano. He has enjoyed all of the dishes and really loves the cheese dip. It's just like the place we used to go to once a week in Illinois that was down the street from our house. We've had the same waiter two out of the three times we've eaten in and they both were great. They always make sure you get your food your way, especially if you ask for something to be left out of your meal. I'd rather drive the extra 8 minutes it takes me to get here and enjoy every single thing I order, than the 2-3 minutes it takes to get to the closer Mexican Restaurant basically next to our house. El Patron blows that Restaurant our of the water, I don't even know how it has a second location. Forever an El Patron customer. If you're not, definitely give them a try. read more

Delicious food, very kind and helpful staff. A family member and I went there this past Tuesday and our waiter was happy to help us, and even switched the nearby television to a channel I wanted to watch by request. I was also happy to see that they carry Jarritos Grapefruit soda which is the only place I can find it around here. Each time I go to El Patron (formerly Los Arcos), I order the fiesta flaming cheese. I've ordered other items on different occasions, but the flaming cheese is my go-to. I've had the same thing from two other Mexican restaurants and they weren't as good as El Patron's. Everything I've had there has tasted great, and I will definitely continue going there. read more

I would not ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. I called five days in advance for my daughters birthday party. We get there 30 mins early just to give them extra time to seat us. We had to wait over an hour. We finally sit down an order. Every ones order is wrong and the food is cold. The cheese sauce was so watered down it didn't even have a cheese taste!!! We tell the waiter/waitress and their very rude about it. The 25 people at the party including myself will NEVER go there again!!!!!!. Went here for dinner after a long day driving. Was convenient to the hotels in town. Had a veggie burrito which was mostly friend onions and potatoes, which sounds simple but they were so well prepared and tasty that I would have it again. Used to go to El Tapatio, but now we prefer Los Arcos -- it's the BEST! Try their fajita-like sizzling cheese dish with chicken, shrimp and steak. MMMMMMM! I think it's $10, but they give you so much food that we always take half of it home for a second meal. Even my husband eats only half, and takes the other half home. It's absolutely delicious. If you want beefr tacos, burritos or enchiladas, you can specify SHREDDED beef (instead of ground beef). There's no extra charge for this. They're across the street from WalMart, in the same strip shopping center as Dollar Tree. But watch out - there's an Americanized franchise type Mexican restaurant in the same block and it is NOT very good at all. read more

I'm sixty years old and moved to Texas when I was 23. I've eaten Mex food all over Texas and the South. When I order a Chile Rellano, I should not receive the cap section of a bell pepper ( the scrap part fed to cows ) with a spoonful of beef and smothered in cheese. A chile rellano is a pepper ( customarily a green chile ) stuffed with meat and/or cheese, rolled in flour or dipped in batter, and fried. To feed a human some cow food scraps under the guise of this fabulous Mexican dish is a culinary travesty. You should be ashamed for insisting your dish is correct.
