The exterior was cute with a huge, adorable furry polar bear in front. We were fitted for our jackets, given a short tutorial, then it was time to enter the icy wonderland. The interior was a bit smaller than expected, but it was impressive, as the whole space was made out of ice and bathed in colorful lighting. There were also quite a few elaborate ice sculptures, mostly of animals, such as a life size horse, eagle, penguin, and more. There were also several ice chairs and benches, with fur on top, indicating they could be sit on. Since I was only getting mocktails, I was able to select 4 drinks. Bartender was welcoming and wonderful. The drinks were made in front of you and poured into a cup made of ice, which could be smashed afterwards. The mocktails consisted of flavors such as Apple, Pineapple, Kiwifruit and Pineapple, Lime, Coconut. They were sweet, fruity, and refreshing. We stayed the full hour, until the song "Ice Ice Baby" was played. It was nice to be there the whole time, because toward the end there were only a couple of us, which made for much better photos! I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed this icy time!

I was a bit skeptical because I despise the cold and it was already a chilly season in Queenstown. However, I will say it was definitely a once in a lifetime experience! I had no idea what to expect, but I knew that during the time of the visit you are essentially immersed in a ice Cove where you are supplied with a jacket and knock ugg boots are supplied as well. I did opt for the alcoholic drink package, but honestly, I should've just did mocktails or something as the drinks were weak I don't even think it has liquor in them. You get to included with the package. One thing I will give them though is that the workers were very nice and kind and would take pictures or record you if needed. You could stay the entire time or come and take your photos and dip out. Everything is a personal preference. I will admit it does get quite boring after a few minutes, but if you want to get your moneys worth, you might as well stay the whole time. Most definitely bring gloves as the ones they provide with the jacket and knock ugg boots are not that great when it comes to protect protecting your hands from the cold.

Really wanted a shepherd's pie but I didn't see it on the menu. The crust was perfectly cooked. Flaky and delicious. I loved their gravy on top. I thought the meat on the inside was just ok. It was flavorful but not the best pie I've had in NZ (which was at a place on Athol on the way down to Te Anau btw). I'm an American so take that with a grain of salt. Don't get me wrong it was good, just not great. Oh and I loved the slice of soda bread they gave you. First time trying that! Had a few NZ IPA's as well which were FANTASTIC. I don't remember the name. Anyway, everyone was friendly. I thought the prices were kind of high for a pie & a bit of mash--but perhaps that's just the tourist tax in Queenstown. Would 100% come back but I think I would try the Irish stew instead.

There is an upstairs for dining and also an outdoor deck upstairs and the patio. Staff were friendly and efficient. I had the roasted vegetable salad and added chicken. It was great value and very fresh ingredients. My friend had the steak that came with fries, onion rings and salad. He opted for the creamy mushroom sauce on the side. I'd go back!
