Seriously. This is no one that I know or knew before calling this guy. I still don't actually know his name but that doesn't matter. This fellow is chill and kind and professional. He communicated with me about the expected time of arrival and then showed up shortly after that. He checked for the easiest way to open the lock. Very fast service. Ben I believe is his name came on a Sunday. Showed me 3 options of door knob replacements. The new combo dead bolt and door knob feet was $169 plus a $30 service fee. They said there was no charge for a Sunday visit but I feel like the $30 service fee should have been waived if you purchase the combo. He did give a $20 discount for paying cash. He really tried to get me to purchase the more expensive $180 combo and even told me that I would have a hard time making a copy of the keys for the cheaper version I bought and joked (I think) "don't call me if you have trouble making copies." I promptly went to Lowes and made 5 copies very easily out of their keymaking machine. Despite that I still would use their services because they were prompt and serviced quickly read more

Super service - called at noon, they were here at 5:20. Request for three deadbolt locks to be re-keyed. They were over thirty years old and could not be done. Option given for three complete new deadbolts - installed for only $40 more than originally quoted. Very friendly and thorough. Would highly recommend them. To the say even the bare minimum, I was incredibly impressed with the service that I received from Locksmith Around The Clock! But I won't just leave it at that! I mean, I was thoroughly impressed with every bit of what Shawn did for me. If Yelp offered 6 stars, he would deserve it. For starters, as you Michiganders know, it was terribly cold outside yesterday. Thankfully it didn't start raining as I thought it would, but after getting off work from a 12 hr shift, I was beat and anticipating curling up into my cozy bed and catching up on some TV shows. But lo and behold as I'm digging through my purse, my apartment keys are no where to be found. I'm shivering, know that my landlord isn't around to help out, so I shoot a text to a friend asking if she knows about any good Locksmiths in the area, and she recc. me LATC. Soooo glad she did! I didn't have to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes before he arrived, and it was cinch, the bill was outstandingly cheap, and Shawn was every bit of friendly - chatting with me a minute. I moved to a new house in Livonia recently and needed handle-knob locks and dead-bolts replaced on several doors. Chad is quick, professional, courteous and well-skilled. He returns phone calls promptly and is flexible around customers' schedules. He called me about 20 minutes before arriving, completed the job in about 90 minutes, and even installed a dead-bolt lock on a door that didn't have one. He upgraded my front door to a premium handle-lock for free, as it was an item which a previous customer didn't want and now it makes my front door look like a million bucks. These days the saying "who can you trust" applies more than ever. Any time I have to call a service person I cringe. My boyfriend lives out of state and sometimes I just cant wait until he's in town to have certain things done - case and point needing to have my locks replaced. Soooooo the spring on my garage opener snaps causing me to have to use the front entrance of my condo until the repair man could come out; about 2-3 days. It's no fun having to exit the front of my home when my car is parked in the rear. Upon returning home from work one night I discover that my front door is wide open. I live in what I consider a pretty safe area (meaning when I go to work MY NEIGHBORS go to work as well). I've been there for almost 4 years and never had an issue or heard of my neighbors having an issue. I call the police. They arrive and do a search. They inform me there is no sign of a forced entry. Nothing is missing - including my Mac book, Ipad and Christmas gifts - all which were in plain site. So I concluded that my son left the door open when we departed that morning and the wind gust blew if open. That night I felt comfortable enough not to freak out until I discovered I couldn't find my spare keys. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. I called Around the Clock for one reason. The name of the company made me think of the theme song from Happy Days (oh yeah they had good reviews too!). I must admit Chad arrived pretty quick (about 30 minutes). I wasn't locked out so I was in no hurry but accommodating me so quickly was a plus in my book. I didn't have to wait for an appointment! Based on what I had researched regarding price - he was cheaper and my boyfriend gave him the "he's not a con artist" stamp of approval based on his quote. I was having trouble with my ignition cylinder in my car for a while and knew it was time to get it repaired.I called and spoke with Chad.He explained his hope was to be able to repair my problem and save me money and gave me an estimate for that and said if he couldn't repair the part how much it would cost to replace it.Both estimates were fair.He gave me a time frame to meet and that he would call when he was on his way.He called as promised and showed up on time.He tried to repair it but the part was unrepairable.He replaced the part plus made sure I had 2 keys that both started the car.The repairs were done quickly and the cost was true to the estimate.Chad was both personable and professional.I highly recommend him. read more

I had a terrible experience with these men. I would give 0 starts off I could. We locked our keys in our car and was quoted $50. After the services were completed were charged $200. They gave no reason for the discrepancy and asked for us to pay in cash. They aren't even from Royal oak, they had no idea where we were when we have them our address. They were disrespectful and rude when I confronted them about the price disparity. read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. I was locked out of my place and called. The technician said he would be there in 10 minutes. He arrived about 25 minutes later. That did not bother me. He informed me of the price - $80 if he could pick the lock and $120 if he had to replace the lock. He was unable to pick the lock and had to drill the lock out. Since drilling meant replacing the lock, I expected the price to be $120. When he told me the final bill, it was $280. He charged me $120 for drilling then an additional $100 for the new lock. On top of that was a service fee of $29 (this was never mentioned in the pricing). In addition, they charged a 10% fee for using my credit card. I understand charging a fee for using a card, but 10% is more than what the credit card company will charge them. Unfortunately due to the lack of honestly and openness regarding the price I would not recommend this place. I will say the customer service was responsive when I called to talk about the large charge. They did respond to my call and e-mailed me back, but did not offer any change in the charges. Use another locksmith such as Pro Locksmith - their fees are much less. read more
