I came here from Texas to spend three days here (each day in a different room) with my music partner here in LA (Jack Flash) to create content for our YouTube channels. Acoustic the first and third days and a full day with a band on day two. Vinnie was such a gracious host. Always attentive and helpful. I met the owner on the last day, and she was wonderful. The rental gear: Top notch. The PA systems: Again, top notch The lighting and vibe: This is getting old, but ... top notch. All in all - this is very affordable. Pure class and felt like home away from home. I give this five stars! ~Tim (Texas Jackdaw)

This is my personal go to spot now…read more The Neighborhood Watche is amazing in so many ways. I'd like to start with their professionalism. Nothing is left unsaid. Communication is very clear and they'll deliver whatever it is that you're looking to accomplish. When you book a session through their app, you'll see that it's very easy to navigate and find what you're looking for. Once you pay, the session is locked in and you'll have a parking spot with your name on it waiting for you to show. So So the plug is a great guy and he is a super dope and well connected individual. I worked with Nick White (mixedbywhite) both sessions and he is fast and we got on the same wave lengths immediately. He catered to my needs and delivered excellent quality. It's hard to gel with a new engineer and we didn't have any frustrating or miscommunication moments. In fact, we had fun and that's what this is supposed to be about. There's good energy infused into their walls and they set the bar when it comes to recording. I am from Memphis, the city known for music and I have to say, Neighborhood Watche is just as good as anywhere in the world. Come here if you want a good price and to work with nice and dope people. I prefer to record on Neumann microphones and they have the u87 in most of their rooms. I'll be back soon. Much love

The amount of history in this studio is truly breathtaking, however, nothing really prepares you…read morefor the first time you walk in and feel the pulse of the room. The first time you record at East West is the last time you'll ever feel conflicted about where to take your project. The gear needs little mention (however, even that component carries it's own set of stories) and the albums completed here speak for themselves. Even the ambiance and atmosphere of the studio lounges let you know you are working in a special place. Those who have recorded at East West fully appreciate something as silly as the lounges. The studio manager and staff could not be more accommodating and there appears to be very little turnover (I recorded here in mid-2010 and late-2013 and interacted with some of the same staff), which is damn impressive when you consider all the variables that go into making a place like this operate. It pretty much impossible to be in a bad mood when you're tracking or rehearsing here, but if you need to add some angst to your record, I guarantee East West can figure how to make that happen also. You will have zero regrets after recording or rehearsing here. Chris Shy (gtr for White Noise Owl)

AC can get so cold that you can need to put on a hoodie and put your hands in a hand warmer. that's massive especially when you consider how hot van nuys can get in the summer (this weekend it hit 110 degrees or thereabout). 24 hour camera monitoring plus your own specific keycode access to the building (each tenant has a unique keycode which is recorded and tracked) helps with the security. also because there are probably 30+ studios here (all are lockouts) there are always people around. add to that a western bagel which is 24 hrs at the corner and you can at least know where to get a fresh bagel or muffin and coffee, milk or a soda/bottled water if you don't wanna deal with the vending machines there. will update my review in a few months but so far so good.
