I've used Lockhart for almost 15 years and they have always been honest and dependable.

Last week we took my little 2001 car to Lockhart Auto Care because it needed some TLC -- tires, brakes, a tune up, and even more. The Service Manager "Bam" is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. He's the perfect person to be managing an auto service shop! He took a day or so to see what was needed to get our little car back up and running great again. We knew ahead of time what parts would have to be ordered, approximately how much time was involved, and how much everything would cost. I arrived shortly after their opening at 8 AM. My battery which, I bought from them died and I had to get a jump on Christmas day. The battery was still under warranty so I took it back to Lockhart as that's where I purchased it and had my receipt. They checked out the battery and determined it was no good and would need to be replaced, but they didn't carry that brand any more and I would have to find a dealer that did as they could not honor the warranty. "But you sold me this battery and represented it to have a 5 year replacement which is why I bought it from you." The guys could not make a decision without the owner and he was not in and he was not available on the phone. They told me to go to another dealer in town and they would exchange it for me. "but you have two brand new batteries of the same manufacturer on display, just exchange me for one of those." We can't without the owners permission and they are more money. You should go to the other dealer. "well could you call them to make sure they will do the exchange as my battery is dead?" Finally, yeah I got a hold of them and they don't carry these batteries anymore either! But there is a little dealer out on the county road and they should be able to help you but they're not open. Meanwhile, over an hour later the owner shows up. We explain it to him and he says I have to find a dealer that carries Interstate Batteries, he can't help me. "But I bought it from you, don't you stand behind the products you sell to your customers?" Yes I do, I sold you a product and now you have to go find another dealer that sells that product cause we ain't go it here no more. It'd be like if you bought something at Advance Auto parts, you could go to a store in Michigan and they would honor the same warranty as if you bought it here! "Huh, that doesn't even make sense!" Well, we can't help you. I have bought tires here, had repairs done here, etc., but I will not be returning for anything here again and neither should you. Had a alternator problem for which they were quick to get me in and fixed! Sticker shock is always going to be there when you don't have the ability to work on your own vehicle but Lockhart is reasonable and was available. Thanks read more

Our van had a problem late Friday afternoon. Called up the shop and Doug said he would take a look and give us an estimate at 4:45, just before 5 pm close time. He found the part and we scheduled the repair for Monday, since we were in town for a long weekend. The work was done as promised, no worries. I had a great feeling of confidence in their work and they were personable and reassuring. read more

I took my van in for a simple hood spring and to check my rear tire for loss of air. when I came back I found they had replace my rear two tires without as much as a phone call or "by your leave". After we left there the gauges and needles started to act like never before..jumping all over the place and dinging. I'm not saying they had anything to do with this..but one wonders...WOULDN'T TAKE MY RED WAGON THERE!!! read more

Our Cadillac developed an engine problem. We took it in to Lockhart's for repair. The problem was diagnosed and repaired in less than 1 hour. Staff was experienced, fast and friendly. I would highly recommend this service center. read more
