I needed some paint work done on my 2018 Corvette. The sun had begun to fade the paint. Artistic is…read morevery well known for the quality of their work. They painted the car, completely, with the exception of a few lower panels. When I picked the car up, the paint job was excellent, as expected. BUT, after I got home with it, later that day, I was going over the paint job, and I noticed that both side windows, had been cleaned with some type of solvent. When I took the car back to show them, they INSTANTLY told me that the damage was from the sun. Come on, I was born at night, but not last night. The following weekend, I took the car to a couple of Corvette shows, with the windows down, I pointed out the damage, and told everyone, who did the paint job. I also told them that the reps from the body shop, both said that it was from the sun. Every person who stopped to look at the paint job, also stated, what I already knew, the damage is not from the sun, but a solvent. I waited for the phone call, to straighten this issue up. The NEW OWNER, never called me. Steve would have called the first day, and corrected the problem. The new owner,"Red", bought it from Steve, but doesn't run the business like Steve. The same employees are there, so the paint work, is still very good, but the customer relations, is gone. Steve took care of you. This new guy, appears that he's just after the money. I sought the advice of a large law firm. What they told me is, "if they are going to lie to me, and not take responsibility for what his employees actions, is not a place that can be trusted. I would expect any employee, admit their mistake, but Reds employee did not admit it. So, in the future, any kind of body work, on any of my cars, will NOT be done at Reds. I want to do business with companies that are honest, regardless of fault, on large, or small issues. I will continue to point this out to my friends, and people at car shows. I found pictures from before they painted it. But the pictures are not clear enough to see. I've always worked for companies, that were straight up honest companies. If I messed up, I told the truth, and it was corrected, with no repercussions against me. We were honest. At the body shop, when I went there to show them, one of the office girls told me to use Laquita thinner on the paint, to remove overspray. I STOPPED HER FROM DOING THAT, but I should have just let her do it. So, bottom line is, myself and a lot of people that I know, will no longer use, REDS, Artistic bodywork's in Sebring, Florida, Hwy 27, THE PAINT JOB IS VERY NICE, the HONESTY, is now gone. I worked my career being honest to customers, my parents taught me to be honest, and to not lie to people.
