My new local mechanic shop. Looks like they opened up after Hurricane Irma September 2017. Owner relocated from Key West area. They lost their business and home down in keys. My truck was overheating. They inspected my truck, replaced radiator and did oil change. All the work was performed quickly on the same day. Owner Joe Clark is a straight shooter. I bought a used Fiat 500 that needed new front tires. They ordered n2 new fronts and replaced. While there I had them check over the car. Brakes OK. Serpentine Belt was replaced buzz under hood turned out to be starter that was sticking. Ordered new one and had it replaced. Very happy with service I received. read more

SO... I break down on the road just west of SR27 on SR 70 this past Saturday. Other mechanics are either closed.... or saying no way before Monday. My last call was to Joey who not only waited, ordered all potential parts and facilitated a tow when AAA didn't come through; but worked his butt off to take care of me. He really bent over backwards and made sure that my car was up to snuff not only for the two hour drive home, but gave me the confidence that all was good for a long drive the following day. Beyond all of that, he called to follow up Sunday afternoon to make sure everything was OK. I wish that his shop was closer to where I live. If you're in the Lake Placid area.... he's your guy!!! "Joe", I believe his name is is an asshole. I went there for two new tires, he talked to me like I worked there or something, he asked me to open a door, so he could call to someone in the bay. I did it, because I thought well maybe the guy can't walk or something, I'll be helpful (still though I think if that's the case, he should be in a wheelchair or something like that and roll his ass on over there and do it himself, and not ask a customer to do it, but I did it). So after I tell him I need a new tire, the next thing he does, he calls his guy on the phone and asks for "the least expensive tire you have" I never said anything about wanting the least expensive tires. How did he know I didn't want the most expensive tires? So then they put the new tires on my car, and then I asked him about a warranty, because you know, sometimes you see where things have warranties on them so I asked the stupid question. So then asshole says "don't hit anything" like it was my fault the tire got a nail in it, like I should have saw the nail and steered around it or something. So then I ask him how much, and he says, 140.00, so I gave him my card and asshole charges me 145.00. This was a few months ago, but I haven't had a lot of time and I'm just getting around to writing this review, I didn't want him to get away with stealing 5.00 from me without at least giving him a negative review, especially after I opened that door for him when he asked me to, instead of telling him open yourself you ignorant bastard. Needless to say, I will never go there again, and I would not recommend Automotive Point to anyone. read more
