Hackman's was recommended by my interior designer, not my builder. I purchased my bedroom…read morecarpeting and my solid hickory flooring from them. They knew I lived on the lake and they knew I did not have central air conditioning. They never let the hardwood acclimate and started installing it the day after delivering it. They didn't even nail the flooring per manufacturer spec. The flooring cupped and is still cupped. Even after installing central air, it's embarrassing to look at. Both Heckman's and the inspector blamed my contractor for not keeping the site conditions moderated during the renovation. They have insurance and they weren't big enough to own up to their mistake. Now I live with a $10k bumpy floor. Atrocious.

The finished product is beautiful, and the attention to detail is evident throughout the entire house. Second, during the planning phase, Prime Design provided a comprehensive list of decisions we needed to make--from flooring and countertops to every light fixture and faucet. This created a clear roadmap for the project, helped us select items that complemented one another, and documented every choice along the way. As a result, there were no surprises when the project was completed. Finally, because we were still living out of state during much of the construction, regular communication was essential. We received frequent progress updates and photos, which allowed us to monitor the work, confirm that everything met our expectations, and feel confident that the project was moving in the right direction. Not where it had been machine spread. And then a 3' crack developed in the driveway. Not a heave, just a separation. I called a couple times with no response. Neighbors drives installed about the same time do not have dimples or cracks. I'm not sure why the install has issues and it's terrible that they do not back their work.
