So I have visited Lock and Key twice, both with large parties. Lock and key is the baby sister of the Beverly in East Atlanta, but nothing is small about her, lol. The ambiance gives grown and sexy-almost like an upscale lounge. It is located in the interlock development in midtown-however please note it is a standalone restaurant not located in the high rise where most other businesses are located. Keep this in mind when looking for the place. Service has always been pretty good to me. I can tell they have worked thru the kinks of newness and I appreciate that it is not overly pretentious. I have had several items here-fried calamari, truffle fries,Philly cheesesteak rolls, and the Brussels sprouts. A word of caution-the Brussels sprouts are VERY SPICY so if you have a low tolerance for heat do not get these! The drink selection is very thoughtful and every drink I have had there has been tasty. I am very familiar with "The Beverly" the sister restaurant of Lock and Key. The menus sort of mirror each other so, I wasn't in the biggest rush to try them out. However, after seeing the Easter Sunday advertisement all over my timeline, I figured - why not. I made a reservation extremely easily on the restaurant's website and was seated promptly at my arrival. The restaurant featured live music from the Baddazz Band which was really good. The vibe and ambiance of Lock and Key is definitely different from The Beverly. The restaurant is really nice and seems to be geared towards accommodating large parties. Twyla was my amazing server during my visit. It took a little longer than liked to receive my food and drink but, I understand it was a busy day due to the holiday. Not your typical decor for a sports bar. I love the multiple booths sections. Lots of TVs (dining room and patio) for your viewing pleasure. We dined on the patio and the weather was perfect!!! The team is so excited and so friendly!!! Jeb and Priscilla greeted us with smiles. Carlie was our server and she was delightful! The food was delicious! I'll start off with the parking, stop and park at the first open spot you see or head to one of the parking garages to save yourself from a headache. The drink menu is substantial and the appetizers are reasonable. I have to dive into the service...or lack of attention for an early Saturday night / late afternoon. We received our food in a reasonable amount of time, but the build your own burger was over cooked, but had an amazing taste. The ceviche was ok, not as traditional as I was expecting but it was good. Beautifully decorated restaurant and great ambiance. I've bee here a few times now and my service has always been great. I will say the host stand is tad bit unorganized. Each time, my table has been given an assortment of menus, and we have to get some replaced, as they aren't the right ones. Food and drinks are decent. Plenty of TVs to watch some sports. Will this place be top of my list? Probably not, but it's not an immediate no either. I think this is an excellent addition to the Westside and especially the Interlock as there is nothing like that over there. I think with a few tweaks, it would be a go to spot. TLDR; Beautiful decor, amazing ambiance, ok food and subpar service! My wife and I visited Lock & Key on the Saturday following Thanksgiving with friends who were visiting Atlanta. We were excited to take them to L&K since my wife had tried it for her mother's birthday celebration and enjoyed the brussel sprouts. One of our friends is a vegetarian, so we thought this would be an easy vegetarian-friendly restaurant. I made a reservation a week in advance. We were seated upon arrival. Our waitress came and asked us if we needed anything. We asked for a few minutes with the menu before ordering cocktails. When she finally returned, I ordered a "Cadillac Margarita" and my wife ordered a regular Margarita. The waitress, then, asked me what the Cadillac Marg consisted of, before beginning to instruct me that the drink I ordered was a restaurant-specific drink and she didn't think L&K would be able to make it. Her response caught me off-guard, so I asked, "do you have tequila and Grand Marnier?" She said, "yes". I responded, "well, the bartender should be able to make it." My friends ordered their drinks, and then we waited...again--until the bartender finally returned with our drinks and to take our order. She brought my friends their drinks and brought my wife her Margarita and brought me a *regular* Margarita. I asked her if it had Grand Marnier in it and, she said, "oh, you really wanted that?" I gave my wife the *I'm ready to go look*. I told her it was fine and not to worry about it. It was at that moment I knew that this visit to L&K would be my last. My wife ordered the brussel sprouts and salmon sliders. She asked for light sauce on the brussel sprouts and they came out drenched with whatever glaze they add to them. The sliders were extremely good. I'd recommend! I ordered the cheesesteak eggrolls and some honey hot chicken wings. The eggrolls were good and the wings were decent. My friends ordered the cauliflower wings and they wanted them tossed in jerk sauce. The kitchen, however, was unable to to toss them in the jerk sauce because the sauce would not stick to the cauliflower. They asked for them to be tossed in the honey hot sauce, and asked for the jerk sauce on the side. Although the kitchen being unable to add the sauce on the cauliflower wings was weird given that it was an option...my friends were happy they ordered the honey hot cauliflower wings because the jerk sauce was inauthentic and extremely salty. Beware if you plan to order jerk sauce!!! Overall, I doubt I'll ever return to the restaurant. The average food quality, subpar and awkward service, and the overpriced parking makes L&K quite unappealing. I'd also like to acknowledge a young lady with a low cut (about 5'5) who greeted us when we entered the restaurant. I wish I would've asked for her name and for her to be our waitress. From what I could observe from her interactions with her table, she seemed very knowledgeable and kind. read more

My first time vip trying Lock & Key. Dined in with 3 girlfriends. The hostess was great as well as our server Bri. She had great recommendations. Food wise we started with the buffalo chicken egg rolls. I was surprised at how god they were because I don't typically like buffalo chicken but wanted to accommodate everyone's preference. Fiollwoed that with the shrimp and grits fish and grits and biscuits and gravy and Mac and cheese (not pictured). Every thing was tasty but the grits could have used a bit of seasoning. The Mac and cheese was AMAZING. We even got a to go order if it. Drink wise we ordered the Lychee Martini, Crown apple cranberry mule, and hibiscus Mimosa. The ladies liked the martini and mule. Why is the world would you only have one bartender and two servers working on the weekend that Spelman and Morehouse had their graduations/reunion? A group of us had reservations for 1:30 this past Sunday and it was a hot mess! It took 15 minutes before the server came over for our drink order. By that time I had decided to just go to the bar because I thought that would be faster! That took another 15 minutes and it would have taken longer had I not walked to the to the end of the bar and took my drink off the pad! SMH!! Later, we ordered two bottles of Prosecco and it was delivered with no glasses! I ordered fried lobster tails and they were over cooked to the point they were dry and crunchy! The aesthetics is nice. I went on a Friday and the had a violinist playing live music. It's a bit loud in there, but hey that might be your thing. Im pretty sure the atmosphere is a little calmer during the week day. Currently they're not using the menu online. At the restaurant they have a condensed version of the menu. I have to say, most of the ppl in my party weren't impressed with the food. They're definitely could've taken a little more time to perfect the menu. Another thing I didn't care for is that they partner with people/businesses and allow them to come in the restaurant to market new alcohol and clothing boutiques to customers. I'm in love with this place, although I've only been once. I've come here a few times since before writing this review and the service and food are always top tier. The atmosphere here reads boogie which it can be but the staff & bartenders are cool and down to earth. L&K is a great place for a date night but also really cool for brunch so I recommend trying both. This is a steak spot so definitely try the steak. I've been here more times for brunch and the Steak & Eggs are unmatched here. I always order a bottle of champagne for brunch and I would recommend you do as well. Reserved a table for 16 people for brunch on a Saturday. It was a slow day because it was barely any people in there. Service was slow. The waitress did great but I'm thinking the bartender was slow because it took FOREVER for drinks. Everyone enjoyed their food except for the person who got chicken and waffles. It's not a good dish. Parking isn't cheap in that area. A dj came around 2 and that was cool. The price point of the food wasn't too bad but the Carafes of mimosas are $40... I think that's kind of high . The dessert actually took the cake ya know it was so good I got 1 to go as well ! Atlanta basic strikes again. Wait.  Let me do the cookie method approach to feedback. Locke & Key is very pretty and a refreshing addition to the Interlock slate of entertainment and dining.  The staff was very attentive and responsive.  I can see trying to carve out a niche in the sports bar realm by making a classy sports bar but  there is still room to go before this is an Atlanta must visit, tell ya momma, phone a friend type of establishment. Now the stuff that matters. This is far from a steakhouse.... there are literally two steaks on the menu. With Marcel right across the street... Lock & Key calling itself a steakhouse is laughable. I came on a Tuesday night. There were less than 10 people seated between 7-8:45pm when we left. My party of two had the Philly eggrolls, wings, and shared the ribeye. The eggrolls were OK. They lacked any variety or actual skill to make them memorable. The sauce is nasty. I think adding peppers and onions and maybe a 3rd eggroll would make it feel like a good value. $14 for 2 eggs rolls cut in half...at best $9. The wings are wings. The ranch tasted homemade I wasn't given a blue cheese option (also didn't ask). The steak was a nice size and was served hot. It was closer to well than medium. The steak wasn't bad but didn't leave me licking the plate. For a "steakhouse" a compound butter or at least basting the steak in garlic and herbs would do wonders for the steak. The brocolini and mashed potatoes were good. The drinks: this is not a craft cocktail establishment. The staff makes the signature drinks well but any deviation that requires knowledge/skill... save it. I was not expecting a beverage director type of curated list but can I get a gin gimlet done right? Not every cocktail needs to be instagrammable but it was pretty but tasted bad. Stick to the signature cocktails or 2 ingredient drinks and you'll be satisfied. My second drink was a gin and tonic with a grapefruit slice...something was lost between ordering and the bar because I was served a gin and tonic with Grapefruit juice. It wasn't bad but not what I ordered. This is a all sales final with minimal substitution type of place. Once it's ordered... it's yours whether you consume or not. This policy is stated plainly on the menu but these type of policies reflect the type of crowd you anticipate attracting. The waitress reminded me of the policy as we were negotiating my dissatisfaction with the gin gimlet. The manager/chef/security removed it from the bill and admitted it was probably made wrong. The bartender offered to make it again but personally...if you can't get a classic cocktail right... I'm not wasting your or my time with a remake. I am happy there was no hookah or grass wall... that's being overdone in Atlanta. All in all, it was not a bad experience. I think if the brunch menu offers a variety, add some live music (jazz, lo fi, etc) this could be a weekend vibe where you want to eat and not worry about twerking next to your table. This is a great addition to the Howell Mill/Westside part of town. It's not my jam, but I see the appeal and wish them much success. I have not been to The Beverly  (parent restaurant) to be able to compare experiences but I HEAR great things about The Beverely. read more

The ambiance of feels warms and welcoming! The service is superb! I am impressed by the food each time I go! I visited this restaurant for the 1st time with a group of friends and was left feeling completely underwhelmed. I ordered the Monti Cristo sandwich with a side of grits and was completely disappointed. The bread was very soggy and undercooked and there was little or no cheese. The grits would have been quite delicious but for the fact they were too salty. Our server was ok, however, several of the ladies in our party noticed that the price on the menu was different than they were charged. Not to mention you have to pay for parking.
