Locanda Sant/Agostin is a small, beautiful hotel in Venice. We only stayed for a couple of days, but they did their best to make it enjoyable. This is a very small hotel - there's only a few rooms, it's very intimate. The rooms themselves are pretty small, but beautiful - well decorated, vintage, comfortable beds, double windows + shutters to keep it quiet. Bathrooms are also small, but nice & clean.
The staff here is incredibly helpful and friendly. When we checked in, we were given a tour of our room, given some recommendations, and shown a map of the area. Breakfast is small and personal. We were given a number of great recommendations for dinner - not only the names of places, but how to get there, descriptions of what to expect for food, even the history of the owners! They really knew their stuff, and were more than happy to share it.
The location is in the center if the island, which makes it easy to get to from the train station, but it's a bit of a walk from the attractions, which are closer to the water. That's not necessarily a bad thing - it was quiet, and nothing in Venice is REALLY that far of a walk. It's just not exactly on the bridge or the grand canal or anything.
Overall, I couldn't recommend Locanda Sant'Agostin more. It's not necessarily for everyone - it's small and older, so if you're used to big, new hotels, this won't fit the bill. But that said, Venice isn't a big, new city, so this really is a perfect place to get a more authentic experience anyway. read more
