Freckle Farm - Terra-cotta planters

Freckle Farm

(9 reviews)

Utah plant lovers go absolutely gaga for Freckle Farm, with their extensive offering of trendy and…read morerare houseplants. They have many outdoor plants, trees, bushes, etc, as well, but I made my way here in late Summer, so houseplants were definitely the goal. The indoor shop is pleasant and open with limited gift items like cards, candles, and prints, plus a variety of planters, but the majority is reserved for (mostly basic) indoor plants, with many more housed in the adjoining greenhouse. I experienced some serious sticker shock when finding philodendron birkin, million hearts dischidia, and fishbone cactus (along with others) priced over $50. Look, Freckle Farm knows what is trending and are taking advantage of it, and people must be buying these sought after if overpriced beauties, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I've seen the same plants elsewhere for a quarter of the cost. They also have THE plant of the moment, a pink princess philodendron, for the low, low price of $425 (insert eye roll here). Another frustration: they were recording a video for Instagram, and they are very active on Instagram, so I get it, but also, I kept jumping out of the way and missing things I wanted to look at because of it. I feel like you should pay attention to the customers in front of you, first and foremost, and it just made me feel like a nuisance. Not to mention, none of those participating in the filming bothered to say anything to me once finished. Along those same lines, even though there were several employees milling around, when I was ready to check out, I waited at the register for several minutes. Another patron even entered, stood next to me for some time, then, exasperated, said, "What? Are they really ALL busy?" On the other hand, I excitedly nabbed a personal wishlist plant: Natal Mohagany, at three feet tall and under $30, along with perfect small neon pothos and N'Joy Pothos to add to a planter. They truly have a lovely mix of goods, and I think I could forgive either the exorbitant prices or poor customer service, but not both.

How do these guys stay in business? Went to buy a king size comforter for our bed at their store in…read moreLogan after my wife searched for one online and saw that they had one in the store. I contacted an employee after I couldn't find it on the shelf, they went to the back and got it and brought it out to me. I then asked her if I could still get the discount even though we did not place the order online because it was quicker to come in and get it. She said yes and to make sure the person at the register gave me the discount and to tell them that the lady in the back said to give it to us at the discount. The comforter was marked at $180 and with the discount would only be $72. So I went to check out and the lady rang it up and I proceeded to tell her the story of how we saw it online but didn't place the order because it would have been quicker to come in and just get it and that the lady in the back said it was ok to still get the discount. The lady listened and then said that she could not give me a discount, but that I could get the discount by applying for kohl's cash (which I learned is a credit card) I told her my wife didn't have to do that to get the discount. She then told me that their internet pricing is always different and that I needed to use a "kohl's kiosk" in order to get the same discount. So I walk from the front of the store back to the center of the store to find this ancient machine (honestly the tin man on wizard of OZ looked more updated than this thing) anyways I still had a tiny bit desire to try and make my wife happy and buy the comforter. I had to consistently smash the touch screen to get any response all while trying to enter my email to get an additional 15% off my purchase. After I signed up for the emails the kiosk from the Jurassic age told me that it would send me an email confirmation. After waiting for 5 minutes I never received one and ended up ditching my efforts to buy the comforter. Honestly I never shop here and will never shop here again as they were so unwilling to help me get the same discounts that my wife was able to get online. Good luck staying in business with that type of experience...

I've bought from here a couple times, ordering online for in-store pickup. This last time, however,…read more was not much good at all. I ordered a set of dining chairs. The info on the website says the box includes a quantity of two, so I ordered two items, which should then be a sum total of four chairs ( assuming my math is correct). In any case, I only actually received 2 chairs. When I asked the warehouse employee and a floor salesman about it, I was told, "No, that just means that we (Fisher) have to order two chairs at a time (for their own inventory)." After emailing customer service, I received a voicemail inviting a call back to the store. I did, asking for the person who had left their name in the message. I was sent straight to voicemail, and asked for them to call back. After a week or so, I called back to store, asking whether that same person was working that day. I was told by reception that person was at work that day, and was transferred to that person's phone. Ring, ring, back to voicemail. I asked again for a call back, or at least verification whether they (Fisher) were considering this issue closed. I also sent another email to customer service with the same question. It's been over a month since that second call, and haven't heard a peep. At the very least, their website seems a little deceitful or misleading, and customer "service" has been largely nonexistent.

If the book table employed employees like the people at the front, I would recommend this place. The employee at the "candy part" of the store was so engrossed with talking with her family/friend that she didn't even recognize there was somebody there wanting to buy something? I only had it limited in the amount of time because I wanted to get something for someone and I only had a few minutes to get something and run it over to them. After about 510 minutes of the employee talking to their friends/family member they gave each other a hug and the ones that I hope things go better for you or something like that. The employee asked me if there was something that they could do and I said not anymore. the time was spent. I wanted something earlier. Plus, part of their store had mold in it. Could tell that water had fallen through and landed on the carpet. I could not even look at that section of the bookstore because of the mold.
