The young girls behind the counter are great and give me faith you can still have fun at work! They are very talkative and will happily chat up a conversation with you! We love Local Roots! There is a kids' play table at the front and they have the most fantastic patio space (seasonally). Comfy casual outdoor seating with a cabinet of family friendly games. It's sad to see such a nice place disgraced by the unhygienic and careless behavior of teenage girls on staff. They were constantly touching and flipping around their hair, and one continually pulled at her very short shorts (and her legs), *while wearing gloves*, just before using that same gloved hand to stick her finger in a spoonful of coconut oil that went in my bowl. In addition they had some serious, embarrassing trouble with basic math at the register; they couldn't answer simple questions about the ingredients in their food and drinks; they took quite a long time despite there being no other orders. The concept is great: a natural, anti-inflammatory menu; modern decor, and how it looks like a little house; vegan snacks available from vegantastetoledo; the gorgeous pile of pumpkins and gourds on the front porch (and watching a big brown squirrel make away with one;) there's even a little play space / table for kids with tiny chairs and magnetic letters and crayons. I was craving a smoothie and found this cute local shop that has everything from smoothie bowls to fresh juices and vegan treats! While it is small the space itself is very inviting and they have a "backyard" area to enjoy the sun in the warmer months. I got a custom smoothie bowl and it was every bit as tasty as I had hoped. I've been coming here for years. Out of all the juice places I've been too Local roots is my favorite. Everything they have is amazing. The owners are extremely friendly and so are the employees. A few of my favorite juices are the happy orange, watermelon Mojito, riptide limeade, good looking and the sweet green. I also like to get a kicker to help boost my immune system. My favorite food item is the berry avocado toast. It is so good and a nice change from the traditional avocado toast. Definitely recommend coming here! Located near downtown Perrysburg in what was once an old barber shop, this cold press juice bar is a hidden gem in the area. They have a wide variety of mega healthy food and beverages that are reasonably priced. While the eat in area is rather small don't let that deter you from visiting. My only complaint is the staff doesn't seem to have a sense of urgency when it comes to making and expediting orders for waiting customers. When they opened, Local Roots was all people talked about. In my opinion, it provided a little of that cool vibe Perrysburg/Toledo was missing. It's small and quirky and unapologetic...reminiscent of the local funky shops in bigger cities. Is it pricy? Oh yeah. Do the college kids still find a way to pay for it so they can swing in the hanging chairs? Definitely. Some of my favorite juices are the Sweet Green and the Yellow Jacket Lemonade (which I add 1/8 tsp cayenne to when I want a little something different). I love the açaí bowls and always ask for a generous spoonful of peanut butter. One of my favorite menu items is the Peanut Butter Protein smoothie. It's super filling and doesn't have that odd grittiness which a lot of protein smoothies do. They we too busy talking amongst their staff and friends who came in to make my order. When I checked on it I then had to tell them what it was.
