Long story short I had the car towed to Kennett and Sons around 1 pm and I didn't expect to hear anything until tHe day after Christmas being that it was 1 pm on Xmas eve. At 230 I was told the car was ready. Couldn't believe it. The owner, Ricky, explained that the engine was basically flooded with fuel from the auto start not working. He said it took him 15 minutes to remove the plugs and remove excess fuel. When I asked what I owed him said, " Nothing". Merry Xmas to me I guess. Thanks again Ricky. I read the other review and agree the shop isn't much to look at but then again either Is the one I take my car to in New Jersey and I trust the mechanic there too.

The young man working was a bit standoffish at first, and took time to warm up. There wasn't really a sense of professionalism from the employees (young and old alike). Lots of swearing and inappropriate conversations happened both with and around me. Pros: After warming up a bit, the employees became very friendly and had a good sense of humor. They completed my car inspection very quickly and charged what I felt was a reasonable price. They offered good advice on car maintenance and weren't too pushy with up-selling. They wen tout of their way to help me with another car problem even though they wouldn't necessarily make money off of it. Overall: This wouldn't be my first choice as a recommendation, and I definitely felt uncomfortable just standing in the shop (wouldn't go anywhere NEAR the couches). However the friendly demeanor that slowly appeared throughout my time chatting with the workers changed my mind a bit. This definitely would have been a 1-star review if not for the guys helping me out in the end.

Driving on the 91 the car started to make some strange rattling noise but I still had to drop off the kids. As soon as I dropped them off, I called several mechanics and Richmond Auto Repair, upon hearing my concern and having to go back to Rutland with the kids that evening, offered to look at the car right away. They managed to squeeze me into their busy schedule and fixed my car within less than an hour. I'm incredibly grateful for their quick help and for ensuring that I could get back home with my kids safely. There haven't been any issues with the car since. Excellent service! Wonderful people! This is THE standard that all car repair shops should aspire to. Everyone needs a good mechanic but it hard be hard to know who to trust. I live in Albany but have been working in Brattleboro for the past few weeks. My car had a muffler problem, I made an appointment and they took care of me incredibly well. Apparently they had to call five or six places before finding the exact part they needed, which they eventually found at a shop in Manchester, NH. They sent a truck, got the part, did the repair, and had my car ready for me first thing the next morning. And they charged me much less than I expected to pay. Just cost of the parts plus 1.5 hrs labor. Could have easily justified charging me more than that but they didn't. I've never considered tipping a mechanic before but I am totally impressed, hence the raving review. Oh and they changed a belt for me that was bad too. I may drive the two hours over from Albany for any more repairs I may need in the future, he that good. And it's hard to find a good, honest car repair shop. It's no wonder they are so busy. Only thing to know is you have to call in advance to make an appointment, because they are small and definitely busy! Also, the person who recommended Fletcher's auto shop to me told me that a friend of hers had a five year old RAV 4 that needed new brakes. Brought it to the dealership, who gave them an estimate of $1800. My friend said let Donnie Fletcher take a look before you have the dealer do it. His estimate was $500. So they went with him. But here's the twist: when they went to pick up the car, they were told it actually took a little less time than they initially thought it would, so the final cost was only $400. Are you kidding me? This is the type of service and honesty you only get in a small town like Brattleboro, where integrity and reputation mean more than a few extra bucks. Highest possible recommendation.

Brought my 2017 Doge Grand Caravan in on two separate occasions back to back,…read more The first time my brakes were beyond messed up, my rotators, brake pads calibers were all messed up and completely done for and they got that fixed up nicely and I haven't had any trouble since. The second time I brought it back in not even 2 days having it back my steering rack and pinion was broken, I took it back to the shop so that they could fix that too, Unfortunately since all this basically happened all at once my finances were completely wrecked! but they were completely understanding about it and worked with me so it could play out best for us both and I can't be more greatful. I have a broken radio and sooner rather then later Im bringing it back to get it replaced!! Please consider these guys if your vehicle is having any trouble, They deserve the support!!

TIME LINE @ ENGLAND BROS…read more 4/13/26 brought to shop Paul said grandpa had one just like it Was thrilled to work on it. 6/22/26 picked it up Paul said he did the brake job (bleeding the brake lines) but wouldn't charge me since it took so long & couldn't complete all that I wanted done. He didn't bleed the brakes even though he SAID he had. I can't stress this enough. I knew it as I was pulling out onto John Stark Hwy. when my foot went to the floor trying to stop for traffic. In between April 13 & June 22? It was raining. It snowed. He was sick. He got behind in his jobs. It rained again. He was behind again. He was starting today. It rained. He was gonna do it tomorrow for sure & thanks for being so understanding. He'd call as soon as it was done. After a week I called him. He said he was on it. He'd call in a few days when it was done. It rained. I left a message that if he can't do it please just call & let me know so I can move on. I called 2 days later & he said I was on his call list & he just can't do the job. April 13-June 22. I was kind. I never yelled. I was understanding. When I went to pick it up he said the brakes were indeed bled but no charge for my trouble & for being so patient. Gave me a safety inspection sticker. A SAFETY INSPECTION STICKER. No longer required in NH but I wanted to be sure I was good to go. Knowing FULL WELL he hadn't done my brakes & just let me drive away. EDIT TO SAY: Just went out to check things out (it was raining yesterday when I picked it up) and found the ORIGINAL LIST I had given Paul. bleed brakes (price given $127), safety check, fix gas gauge, new battery for engine to include new mount, de-winterize it ($127), blow out the vents (n/c), attach front plate (wasn't done when I got there but he had his guy do it) and NONE OF THIS WAS DONE. What WAS done was muddy footprints & dirt everywhere, seats taken apart & not put back together, and a drawer that doesn't close now. It was clean when I brought it in. Everything in place. And now.....? What a MESS!
