Recently I was in the area, and wanted a quick burger and fries. I chose McDonald's over Local Kitchens in Novato. Why? Because I thought McDonald's would be faster. Everything was pretty good. I liked the spicy pork belly fried rice, but it would have been better if the egg on top had a soft yolk, it was fried hard. My mom got a burger and the Quesabirria, which was bigger than we expected. The quiche was small and tasted better than it looked! See the pic. Local kitchen is a one place with various menus from different restaurants: burgers, pizza, salad and bowls, vietnamese, mexican, desserts. Ample of parking at the front of the store, maybe 10-15 cars. I ordered a birria beef bowl from Napoli and a small strawberry matcha latte from Boba guys. The total is $23. Both are delicious but the portion is not much tor the price. There is a 15 min wait, there were like 5 orders ahead of me on a Saturday 2pm. It is located in the same plaza as Shell gasoline, Peets, Mcdonalds. Ordering means tapping the tablet screen at the front, but I ordered with the help of the staff as I am not familiar with the place. Not much seats for dine in. To go and delivery also available. Fantastic food, so many foods and enjoyed almost all of them. Mexican food, pizza, boba...gonna miss this place.

Looking for a dinner spot to fit the cravings of two different people, we ended up choosing Local Kitchens. I ordered the green herb falafel plate from Oren's and the BBQ Bacon MeltBurger and a side of fries from The Melt. When we placed the order it said it would take about 15 minutes. We got there in about 12 minutes, walked in and the order was almost ready. The staff working there were nice and quick and there were actually a few people dining inside when we stopped by. Local Kitchens also has a parking lot for ease of pick up and they are open late (until midnight)! Not many things are open this late around here so this would be a great option. I ordered the Green Herb Falafel Plate. It consisted of white pita bread (4 small slices), a good portion of israeli salad, turmeric rice, 5 small falafels, a big portion of hummus, and a side of cabbage and tahini. To start, the pita was okay, a little harder than expected but still edible. The israeli salad felt very fresh and it was quite delicious. The turmeric rice was average, the color of the rice was there but the turmeric was a bit mild. The falafels were okay, it was crunchy but a little on the drier side because of the size. The hummus was the star of the show! You can tell it was freshly made and oh so creamy! The little side of cabbage was good, it was fermented so the notes of sour were appreciated. As for that tahini side, it was a miss for me. It was literally watery consistency and didn't have any flavor to that. The BBQ Bacon MeltBurger was super juicy. The meat and the bacon gave it so much flavor. I was not sure though if it was juices coming out of the burger or a lot of oil. Regardless the flavor was there and it was fresh. The one disappointment that my friend said was that considering it was The Melt, you would think there would be more cheese or that it would be cheesier. The fries were very crunchy like they double fried it. Think in n' out fries double fried but on a higher level. Overall, a pretty good experience and would definitely order from Local Kitchens again! I just wish all the places that they were previously serving was back on the menu (ie. sushiritto, Rooster & Rice, etc) so I had more options to choose from. read more

This spot is pretty cool! It has a little something for everyone. My daughter got the Melt, my husband got Proposition Chicken. And I got the Asian Box. We've tried the Melt and Proposition Chicken spots. And the meals here taste exactly the same as what we typically order at their restaurants. But, I've never had Asian Box and was disappointed by the meal. I shouldn't ordered something else, but I was craving Asian. Unfortunately, this did not hit the spot! You order from the kiosk. And then pick up at the counter. The meals came out pretty quickly. Wouldn't mind stopping here again when everyone is wanting different options. read more

Local Kitchens is a collection of some local favorites all in one convenient location. Craving a sandwich from the Melt but your friend is feeling some hainan chicken from Rooster and Rice? For us folk in the North Bay, this would often mean a drive into the city. Fortunately, they have now created a ghost kitchen concept that allows you to order from a variety of different chains in these Local Kitchens. Including the Melt and Rooster and Rice, the Local Kitchen at Novato has offerings from Proposition Kitchen, Sushirrito, Milk Bar, Oren's Hummus, Pressed Juicery, and Humphrey Slocombe. Probably the next question is whether the quality is just as good? I ordered "The Original" from Rooster and Rice which I have enjoyed. The one I ordered from this Local Kitchen was equally good! I probably have to try some other things, but I anticipate they ensure that the quality is good enough to be replicated. I would highly recommend ordering ahead online in advance especially during the peak times. When I went during dinner, the queue of orders seemed to be getting long. If you plan on eating at the place, it is a little small with limited seating inside. There are a few seats outside also. The parking situation is also a little limited. However, since most people are takeout, the turnover seemed pretty quick. Overall, Local Kitchens is a welcome addition to Novato to bring several chains that doesn't require a trek across the bridge with the same quality! read more

I didn't know about Local Kitchens and their micro hall concept before they opened up in the former Chipotle location. I have been a couple times since they opened and love the variety of different food options under one roof! I have tried the cheeseburger from The Melt when they were giving out free food to celebrate their grand opening and let me tell you it was amazing! I have also tried the chicken tenders from Proposition Chicken which was tasty. Next time I'd like to try the popular sumo crunch sushiritto. There is something for everyone at Local Kitchens including dessert from Milk Bar. Seating inside is limited, but there is a patio in the back when the weather is warmer. It is a small parking lot but there's additional parking on the other side of the Shell gas station. read more

As my first experience didn't go well ( but was resolved promptly by business owner , I was impressed by the immediate response ) I was willing to give this Micro Food Hall another try. As they were promoting this Local Kitchen has something for everyone's palate taste, its concept works very well for a family who wants different food. This food hall offers different cuisine from specialty restaurants like: Oren's Hummus Sushirrito The Melt Proposition Chicken Rooster & Rice My son offered again ( can't say no to free food) to pay using his app. A separate review for Proposition Chicken and The Melt will be posted. I decided to check out the dine in area before pickup time. As you enter the food hall there is restaurant a kiosk ordering checkout counter. Friendly staff. Clean and casual feeling like home. Limited seating capacity for dine in but still spacious for a group of 4 -6 people in each table. A bench is provided for waiting customer pick up. 2 tv monitor screens conveniently showing the status of all the orders, time allocation from preparation to ready for pick up. Two Gender neutral restrooms were both out of order, very inconvenient if dining in. Restaurant offers delivery , takeout and pickup. read more

Gave this place a try it's a cool concept. It needs work though. I like that it offers Marin with options for good food however I do think it takes a while for your food to be ready so if you are in a rush, try ordering online first I'm glad that they have Boba guys because honestly Marin does not have any good options for Boba. read more

I love the concept of Local Kitchen by bringing local (and even non-local) foods to one location. And the fact that it's open to midnight is great for Novato. Inside is a little tight, so I recommend ordering ahead on their app to pick up you order. There isn't much space to eat inside. The staff are organized and friendly. I ordered from the Humphry Slocombe and the Melt menus. It's great that the ice cream comes in thermo packaging. The garlic parmesan fries were fresh and had nice crispness. The BBQ bacon melt burger was tasty, just wish there was more BBQ sauce. I'll be trying more from their other menus. I'm hoping they get more food menus for us to try! read more

This is a new addition to the Novato area and my family was excited to try it! My wife loves the SF one so I was looking forward to it. I really like the Emeryville style food court and was hoping this would hold a candle to it. When we arrived, i was INSANELY busy. However it's a brand new spot and I figured everyone and their momma would be there (they were). We ordered (and ran up a decent tab) but were told that it would be a 40-50 minute wait. That sucked. A lot of the orders was either Uber Eats or DoorDash. If you are hungry and want to eat soon I would recommend something else. However if you like to do a lot of food delivery, this might be your jam. Just order well in advance. I kinda like eating food hot and fresh so delivery is always a let down. That and delivery people ALWAYS screw up my delivery address where I live. No one reads anymore lol. While there I ordered a fried chicken sandwich but was told they were out. Ok, kind of a bummer but moving on, I ordered a Bacon Burger from The Melt. My son ordered Chicken Strips from Proposition Chicken and My wife got a Sushi Burrito from Sushirrito. We also got a small container of Vietnamese Coffee ice cream. That was probably the best thing and I don't even like sweets. The burger was good. I would have it again. The chicken strips were dry though. The batter was good but again, overcooked. Maybe 1-2 minutes less and it would've been perfect. The burrito wasn't bad either. This is awesome! I love this place. Food and service excellent. Loved everything we are. The ice cream of Vietnamese coffee, OMG can you say new addiction! I love love loved it so much I ate it all by myself. My partner didn't want any right away, and hey, I didn't want it to melt before we got home *wink* The burger he got here said was "alright" I'm like it has your favorite things! Bacon cheese and caramelized onions how can you not love it? Later when he was done he's like. Yeah I really loved it. I cannot say enough about the salad that I got. Oh my God! I'm normally not into fried chicken fingers but it was so good on the salad with the egg cooked to perfection. I'd almost say with the how good the dressing was the Green goddess dressing didn't probably even need the cheese, but it all came together wonderfully. I especially love the pickled onions cucumber fit right in. Everything was outstanding. There was a 10 minute it so wait at pick up but that was to be expected because when I put in the order it said it would be 17 minutes or so and I didn't realize I was only 5 minutes away by being at the Marin airport. Even though traffic was heavy that day, I took one exit down and was there in 5 minutes and then took surface streets back since there was so much congestion going northbound. That being said, even though I had to wait, I was able to see how my order was prepared and actually check out the place quite a bit which was clean, nice and albeit a bit empty. Except for the to-go orders, it seemed welcoming to actually sit there and eat as well. My partner doesn't want to go out and eat at places, but if he was I could probably drag him to this place to get it fresh. Next time I'm in town I'm definitely going to check them out again. I have this to say, if you read it on the menu, and it sounds like something that you would like, you will love it. Don't hesitate to order it. I guarantee you won't regret it. read more

New local kitchen that took over chipotles old spot! I'm happy to see a variety of restaurants that you can't find around here. I decided to get a turkey sandwich from The Sandwich Stop. Ordering online was easy and was able to customize my sandwich to my liking. I got a text to track the progress of my order and it took about 20 mins to complete and was done on time. When I went for pickup, the parking lot was completely empty for a Thursday lunch so I was in and out really quick. The sandwich turned out pretty good. It'd be hard to mess up a simple turkey sandwich. Will definitely be ordering more from here in the future! read more

What a variety of food that can help please everyone! I had never heard of Local Kitchens until they opened a location in Novato. My friends and I knew we had to give it a try. When we arrived on a Saturday night, they were busy and I mean busy... parking lot full, all tables filled and people waiting to pick up their orders. We ordered food at the kiosks, which included: - Hummus -Greek Salad  - Pitta  - Three Cheese Classic Grilled Cheese - Mini Mac and Cheese  - Humpry's Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple & Honey Graham Overall, the food was really good! I loved the Greek salad and would go back just for that! It tasted so fresh and had a good balance with all the ingredients and dressing. The grilled cheese was just ok, and the mac and cheese didn't quite have enough melted cheese. I don't think I'd get either of those again and would try something new next time. Both ice creams were absolutely delicious, but I loved the Peanut Butter Fudge!  We waited about 10-15 minutes for our order, and they had it packed well. For how busy they were, they were pretty quick. I look forward to going back and trying more soon! This is such a great concept to have so many options under one roof. read more

I haven't been back to Local Kitchens since Rooster and Rice stopped being served there (still super bummed about that change) as I had read some negative reviews about many of the other options. I must admit that I'm too easily swayed by reviews sometimes and I'm happy to state that this is one of those times as what I had today was delicious. The Amba chicken rice plate from Yalla Falafel was delicious. The chicken was super tender, the sauce on it was delicious and the veg was all spot on, especially the carrots. I would warm folks who don't like spicy food to ask the green sch'ug sauce to be removed as it packs a wallop, but I dig it. The Nopalito chips and guacamole was solid as well. The chips were thick and crisp and lightly salted and there was just a touch of heat to the guac that enhanced the flavor. I'll definitely be back for more of that Amba chicken is nothing else. read more

I tried Local Kitchens for the first time yesterday. I liked the convenience of doing everything online, and the order appearing shortly thereafter. I ordered the cauliflower bowl from Nopalitos. It was described as having marinated cauliflower, other vegetables, rice, beans, cabbage. The photo looked enticing! When I got it home, the food was bland, dry, and tasted as if the ingredients had been sitting for a while before they ended up in my bowl. Really tasteless, but I was so hungry that I ate most of it anyway. Now, I'm experiencing the gas that I knew would come... I guess the other reviewers had other items that were better. If there's one thing Novato needs is more food variety. And bringing Milkbar's famous Crack Pie (Brown Sugar, Oat cookie crust, & butter) is fantastic! I can't tell you how many times we've gotten the Crack Pie from Milkbar in Las Vegas...and now it's here! My sugar tooth is so happy. Went in today to dine in and happily ordered The Melt's Patty Melt with avocado added. So so good. They make it fresh when you order and my melt came out hot and melty. Really so good. This place only has 3 tables for dine in so if it's full you gotta take it to go or eat in your car. All orders are bagged as to go anyway. Glad they have cold water that you can help yourself to while you wait and some packaged condiments, napkins, etc. Hope this place in the future does a rotation of other eateries to feature. This was my first experience with Local Kitchens. I ordered via Door Dash. My order arrived quickly and was still warm. I had the birria beef bowl from Nopalito Tacqueria & the spicy fries from Proposition Chicken. First bite of the bowl was good. The fries to me were more salty than spicy. They were excessively salty. I was hungry so I ate the meal. However, the salt overshadowed everything. Felt like the fries had a half a shaker of salt on them. All I tasted was salt. Not sure if someone got heavy handed with salt? I see those fries are a top menu item. I did not taste any spice to them at all. Just salt. I have had seasoned fries at Five Guys that I also found excessively salty. Maybe it's me? Not a fan of salt unless it adds flavor. Seasoned sea salt etc. This was just like heavy table salt. I would get bowl again. Think I liked it before salt took over. Would not get fries. Anyone else find fries spicy? Flavorful? read more

It was really rough being a night owl in Marin County until I discovered Local Kitchens. Even many of the places that supposedly stay open until 9 seem to shut down their kitchens well before then on many occasions. The food at LK is great and a very welcome alternative to fast food that would otherwise be the only option in most cases. And the menu options change, so it's not the same old, same old every time. Jorge was absolutely wonderful! He was extremely friendly, professional, gave me good recommendations and suggestions and was also very fast and efficient. I ordered a boba as it was a recommendation from someone at a different boba place. I had gone to aloh-o-poke and tea only to find they were closed. A couple of young guys suggested for me to come to local kitchens since i told them im not from the area and i am just here for work. Quite pricey for take out food. Had sushirrito burritos, although cooked well it was very bland, should be sushi rice but tasted plain. also there wasn't enough sauce for both the ninja and geisha. The sushirrito actual stores do a better job. the melt, had the bacon chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger. both were standard. the beef patty could of been hotter and juicier, maybe i'm use to super duper dripping of hot oil. nice sturdy disposables, not much seating definitely better to take away. friendly service. great that they open until midnight? read more

We had friends over and everyone wanted to try the new place so we ordered online and then picked up. Once ordered, it said it would be 40 minutes, (it was Friday evening), but I think they had it ready between 25-30 minutes. Their messaging for the order was all very helpful. 3 people ordered from the chicken place and all really liked the fake chicken sandwich, fried chicken sandwich and the flippin chicken salad. I ordered the Impossible burger and tomato soup from The Melt. For appetizers we had the garlic parmesan fries and the hummus with eggplant. Everyone was happy with what they ordered and we had a fun and easy meal. I loved that not only was there really no clean up, but that they packaged everything in biodegradable packaging including the to-go bag. Thank you! No utensils to deal with either. I've been saying for years that Novato needs a food hall, so I was overjoyed when Local Kitchens decided to open. Having worked in San Francisco I was familiar with all the restaurants so I already knew what I wanted to order. I went there on their first opening day and ordered the fake chicken sandwich and fries from Proposition Chicken, and a strawberry basil lemonade from Pressed. Everything was super tasty and I've had to stop myself from coming back every day. The staff is fantastic, everyone is super friendly and if you can't decide what to order they'll gladly give you suggestions. Plus they're open until midnight, can you believe it!?!? The only reason for the four stars is I wish they had more vegetarian options. I'd love to see them add other stores like Asian Box, Sajj, and the Plant among others. We had a patty melt, a ground beet patty oozing cheese with grilled onions on fresh soft sourdough ($10.99) from The Melt and the Hummus Classic, creamy hummus with 3 soft, little pitas ($11) from Oren's Hummus, washed down with a Sweet Citrus drink ($6.99) from Pressed. This novel concept, where Local Kitchen cooks all the different dishes (with permission, of course) from different kitchens, is like a super-efficient mini food court. The restaurants Local Kitchens features are famous among foodies (like Proposition Chicken, the Milk Bar, more) but I doubt if any of them would open up shop in Novato. But with Local Kitchens, Novatoans can enjoy specialties encountered during their travels near and far, nevertheless. Ordering is easy, depending on menus with pictures on tablets. Ambience is all Local Kitchens lacks. There's only a few tables to eat at. Not a great place for a date but perfect for take out--especially if where to get takeout leads to a quarrel. If you're not familiar with Local Kitchens, they are a micro food hall that brings together a bunch of excellent restaurant brands under one roof. Have a group but can't decide what to eat? No problem, LK has eight different menus to choose from. Each individual brand is a star in it's own right. Mix and match and create your own culinary tour in one place. I'm working my way around the menu. On opening day I had Melts ( Melt Burger, Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup). Second day I had Oren's (Beef Kebab Peta and Chicken Kebab). The amazing thing is I can eat here 10 days in a row and never have the same thing twice. Service is fast, friendly and the food is hot and flavorable. Download the app and order online. They're super busy so preparation times can very, but the app is very good at letting you know how long the wait is, and their time estimates are spot on. Vegetarian options: There are straight away vegetarian options, but there are also traditional meals alternatives using impossible meat substitutes. Parking: The parking lot is on the smaller side. Got the overachieving SOB and my girlfriend got the SOB with fries. Let me tell you how delicious this was. Warm and cheesy and to top it off the fries were crispy and hot. Wasn't expecting much since I know most places that do multiple menus usually are a hit or miss, but this was a HIT. Glad we stopped by on the way back home. The Thai tea was great too.
