This place never disappoints. We went on a Friday late lunch hours and we had the out side patio to ourselves. The staff were very attentive, kind, and helpful. The country style setting, herbs in pots in patio to use of mismatched vintage plates, makes for quaint atmosphere. The food was just what we needed for a light late lunch. 10/10 recommend. We will be returning as it has become our favorite.

Nice treat for first visit. Lunch was the time of day. Nothing elaborate. Deviled eggs, local mushrooms and fried chicken. Service adequate. Location was better inside than expected from outside. I know it may be the time of year but there's a fly and fruit fly problem. Needs addressed.

2 of 6 experiences here & in no rush to go back. Last awful experience, I refused to give them another shot (years later you would hope they get it right, especially w/ service). The hostess is the first impression. We were the only patrons for Kayla who sat us & took our order so it wasn't like an overwhelmed, short staffing attitude. It was snooty, rude, no she can not turn the fan off that's why they 'wear sweaters to work'... though it's freezing inside & outside ok... so the freshly brewed super strong coffee, kept my hands warm. Ordered the omelet add ham... she said no, the ham for the Benedict is only for the Benedict... lol ok. Service zero once again. Like I'm doing you a favor. Mind youn I'm a great tipper anyways. The omelet was 4 stars. Mushrooms, farmers cheese... guess that was goat cheese, always a nice combo. Compliments to the chef for the tomato jam spread which truly made the omelet. Add sausage since ham was an issue, & for me a meat was needed! Replaced the grits or 'hash browns' sides, which were home fries, for salad w/ herb vinegarette on my order. It was fresh, a bit bland. (Sausage or something gave us both heartburn, not their fault just fyi) Overall, if I owned a restaurant, local food, local support is want friendly service to all guests & a smile upon entering & leaving. 4 of 6 times dining here have been awful service.

This is a perfect spot for local eats and a relaxing atmosphere. My friend and I checked this out for weekend brunch. The mimosas are delicious with fresh squeezed orange juice. The chicken and dumplings dish was a great choice and very flavorful.

The atmosphere is very nice and it seemed like a popular local place. I was asked about reservations but since I didn't have one hostess did accommodate our party of 2. We had 2 farmers salads , corn bread, wagyu burger and wagyu chopped steak. Steak and burger were burnt. I ate my burger cause I was hungry but my husband wasn't able to because of burnt steak. On the other hand Corn bread and farmers salad were great. Water didn't taste great either. I had alcoholic drink from their special menu for that day. It was ok. So, at this point, I'd say the cooking needs improvement.

Amazing sausage gravy! My favorite place for brunch

Deviled eggs are to die for. The brunch cocktails were so good. They use a lot of fresh ingredients in their menu so expect seasonal changes.

Off the beaten path, we found this gem of a restaurant that has a unique dining experience. Our party of four got seated right away. The service was great, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere is casual but decorated really nicely. I would suggest the wagyu burger and steak fries.

If you are in the area, you have got to stop here. I will be recommending this for a Food Network show the best fried chicken you will ever have. It is to die for the chilies with the waffle in the fried chicken just makes sense you got the sweet the heat, the crunchy the soft the depth of flavor is just out of this world the spice blend on the fried chicken. I cannot get enough of this fried chicken cooked to perfection tender well balanced plate. Mistaken eggs can't go wrong eggs cooked a perfection steak cook cooked the perfection little small for the price of the steak but my God the flavor was absolutely there the biscuits and gravy. I shouldn't even have to write about how good they are, but I'm going to anyways absolutely amazing biscuits. You can tell they make these homemade from scratch. You can tell they put love in their gravy. The Benedict wasn't as standard as the other dishes, but nothing short of amazing. I just like a little more hollandaise sauce. One of the downfalls of potatoes were a little greasy, but my God they were just this place. You can't get enough of the inviting hometown. Feel vibes are just something that you cannot describe the cleanliness I believe it was the owner that was there that morning, and he sat there and talked with us about music festivals. He was absolutely nothing short of professional and respectful. We will come here every time in the area. We're really sad. We only got to swing through one time with our schedule but best believe we'll be coming back.

Hubs and I split a chicken biscuit with goat cheese and hot pepper jelly and it was really good. We had a side of fried green tomatoes that also hit the spot. My friend loved the bowl she got but said the peach side was a miss; it was all goo, whipped cream and a few canned peaches. My other friend seemed unenthused with the peach frenchie (french toast biscuit?) and also grumbled about canned peaches. Peach season in the south merits fresh peaches, so I can understand the disappointment. They had some really tasty and new-to-me craft sodas on the fountain from "Tractor"; cherry cream, blood orange, lemongrass, and cucumber. Only the cherry cream actually tasted like what it said it was, but they all tasted good and very sugary. I did not expect to like the cucumber one but if you hadn't told me what it was I would never have guessed cucumber. Anyway, I would absolutely come back for a chicken biscuit and fried green tomatoes but I'd wear a parka.

The rolls they brought to the table were amazing. Service was great. The only negative thing I can say is that it's a little on the pricey side. They do, however, give a military discount which helped ease the pain just a little bit. In the mid to late 70's on our annual shopping trip to Louisville for school clothes, we stopped there and at the table next to us was Colonel and Mrs. Sanders. They came to our table and talked to us and were very friendly. It's too bad cell phones weren't available back then because we definitely would've taken pictures.

There were unincorporated bits and pieces of flour floating in the milk gravy and it had an uncooked bland, unseasoned taste. The gravy was also a watery consistency similar to milk with little to no substance or ability to even coat the back of a spoon. We also ordered corn muffins and received yeast rolls, which wasn't a big deal since we do happen to like both. Sides of mashed potatoes, corn pudding, creamed spinach, and mixed greens were all as tasty as always. Stewed tomatoes were a bit too sugary for our preference. Chicken and chicken livers were all great, all seasoned well, hot, and tender. Chicken and dumplings was disappointing since it was a majority of chicken pieces (some pieces were not so tender and were borderline dry, chewy) and there were only 3 dumplings with a ratio of 9:1 (chicken:dumpling) and broth sauce was a bit salty. Waitstaff at reception and checkout and gift shop did not greet us as we entered or departed. It felt somewhat aloof, which is odd for a customer-focused approach. Large parking lot with free access and easily accessible for all mobility levels.

Then I come in and I had the sweetest young man Jackson come up and take my ticket order. I told him I would appreciate it if my food would come out hot because I have sat inside the restaurant and been served cold food too many times he took my order And I tipped him well and my food was out in less than five minutes and by the time I drove home, my food was still hot. I was very impressed with him but other times I'll come in and place a tickle order and it'll take me 20 minutes if not longer to get my food and when I get to the car, it's cold and I don't mind but when I know that it's something that's already been made and dip products. In most places, you either get incredible food with average service, or great service with food that's just okay. Southern Grace somehow manages to deliver both at a very high level.
