I purchased a ring at Local Charm, at the Mall of America, in Bloomington Minnesota. The ring was packaged in a velvet bag by the saleswoman. When I got it home I put the bag, with ring still inside, away in my jewelry box. 3 weeks later I had an occasion to wear the ring (it's fancy, I'm a nurse, so not an everyday wear item).
I put the ring on and shifted it and felt a sharp edge. When I looked closer the ring had a chip in the silver, that was part of the setting. I took it off and put it away.
I took the ring back to the store and explained what I had found. The saleswoman, same one, took the ring, took my name and phone, then wrote a receipt that the ring would be inspected by a jeweler to see if it could be repaired. The woman then advised me I would have to pay for the repair. I emphasized to her, this was not my doing. She said, "we'll see". Again she now had possession of the ring.
I followed up via email three times and received no response. I shared my story on their Facebook page, and the responded almost immediately, but not before taking down my comments.
I was advised that the store manager would be calling me to explain the situation. I received a voice mail from her the next day, where she admitted to forgetting about the ring, once she placed it in a bin for repairs. Nothing further was done. I then received a message via Messenger, advising that they would be refunding my monies and asked for my mailing address, which I provided.
No refund check has arrived, my ring is non repairable.
I will never shop at this storefront again.
