I started with a Minchilada, which unfortunately didn't have much flavor. The rim was coated in more of a Cajun-style/ old bay seasoning rather than the traditional Southern California Tajín and lime. For my meal, I ordered the poke bowl. The tuna was decent, and I actually liked the sauce that came on the side to pour over it. However, the rice was a big miss, it was very stiff, cold, and tasted like it had been sitting for a while. The bowl also could have used a few more wonton chips. The location itself is cute and makes for a nice place to sit and have a meal, especially if you're coming into San Clemente by train. I just wouldn't come here with particularly high expectations for the food. The service was good and brought everything out in timely manner.

Rectangular bistro tables in front of us run along the wall. The rest of the restaurant is darker with more intimate lighting. My friend and I have the same order, Bistro Plate. It's a little bit of everything; soup, salad, and entree. Soup of the day is a Red Pepper Bisque topped with a crostini and a dollop of goat cheese. Salad is slaw style, lightly dressed. Filet mignon, ordered medium rare, is definitely petite; sitting on crispy garlic toast, topped with what seems to be chimichurri (though the menu only mentions steak butter). All of it, perfection. We enjoyed our cocktails as well. Both of us with a Coco Rita in hand. It felt like a vacation. We enjoyed the cocktail so much that we sat in the bar for another one after paying the bill and moving our cars (due to the 3 hour parking limit). I live in Oceanside and would love to come back here. Old Town San Clemente has it's own charm. It felt like a little getaway though was only a girls day outing.

My wife got a burger cooked the way she liked. Had fries and my wife ordered the tomatoes with blue cheese. Some of the best tasting fries I've had. Both of us really liked the tomatoes. The restaurant was well decorated with a varied menu. Aldan, our server did a terrific job. Never left us for too long, kept the water filled as well as the ice tea. Their desert was great. It was huge and very flavorful. I had two minor issues. They only had mango ice tea. Also I ordered a Diet Coke, it was $4 for a miniature bottle. Maybe only 6 oz. Kind of skimmpy. Other than that I loved this place.

Got to taste some others before deciding which was very nice. Intimate and cute place perfect for our date night. The food was ok! Overall we were happy. Mussels were really tiny and the sauce was too thick for our liking. The avocado salad was a little bland and not worth $25. But the filet mignon was super delicious and at a good price! The mashed potatoes were way too salty though ..actually inedible.

We had never been wine club members, but were enchanted by Zach, the manager, who explained the perks of club membership and we signed up immediately. We have been coming ever since and cannot say enough good things about it. The food is delectable, the service attentive and thoughtful, and the ambience charming and inviting. For "Friends" fans, the winery is to us what the coffee shop was for the friends; the local hangout where we have become friends with the wonderful staff and other patrons who frequent the establishment. Sadly, we recently learned that this location will be closing. We are devastated and will miss the place and the amazing food and friends we have come to love. Since learning of the upcoming closure, we committed to visit daily until it closes. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the incredible chefs, servers, greeters, and staff for the past 2.5 years of sumptuous food, friendly smiles, and top notch service!! We will miss you more than you know!!

We sat on a booth. the server had an accent, almost felt as if I was in Belgium. he took care of our orders but we never saw him again afterwards so his service wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. we ordered few things: 1) beef carpaccio- looked like any other beef carpaccio dish but this one wasn't as good. the meat wasn't cut as thinly as others. it was adequate dish but nothing great. 2) small mussels and fries- pretty good. wish there was more pieces for $29 3) pork shank- the presentation was avg. But this dish was fantastic. the meat fell off the bone, literally. meat was very tender. great dish. 4) beef bourguignon- very good dish too. not salty like most places. meat was flavorful and tender. 5) brazino- not bad but I've had better. felt like the skin needed to be crispier. 6) Profiteroles au chocolat- I've never had this before. amazing dessert. perfect. the ice cream inside the dough, choux pastry, was superb.

We arrived around 12:30 pm on a Sunday and there was already a line of people waiting to order. Despite this, it only took us 10 minutes to receive our food, including the time waiting in line. The parking lot is extremely small, but there's plenty of street parking nearby, so we had no trouble finding a spot. Kawamata is a tiny operation where you order at the window and find a spot outside to eat. We ordered Salmon and Ahi bowls with various toppings, and I really liked how many options they give you. I enjoy poke both the simpler, more Hawaiian-style way and loaded with extra textures and flavors, and Kawamata gives you the option to do either. The poke itself was delicious, and the portions were very generous. I especially liked how all the toppings came together without taking away from the fish. Just keep in mind that the extras are individually priced, so your bowl can get a little expensive depending on how many you add. Overall, I really enjoyed Kawamata Seafood and can see why it gets so much love. The poke was fresh, filling, and flavorful, and I'm already looking forward to the next time I can come back.

There's usually a line, but it moves quickly. You order and pay at the door, and they call your name when your order is ready. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. It's a little more expensive than some other poke spots, but we think it's worth it. You can really taste the freshness of the fish, and the flavors are delicious. You can build your own bowl or choose from one of their preset options. It's a cute little hole-in-the-wall spot with a few picnic tables if you want to eat there, but we love taking ours to the park. If you're craving fresh, Hawaiian-style poke in Dana Point, definitely give this place a try!

Let me tell you- the unplanned is always the best! I had been wanting to try it but knowing the other locations had hard parking, and man oh man, one of my favorite meals and so well priced! 1. Red snapper with veggies and mushrooms. Wow! The fish was so full of flavor even before the sauce, well portioned, well priced. And the veggies were filling and cooked to perfection! 2. Fish and chips - have been on a mission to find good fish and chips- the fish was huge, tasty and meaty! Just a bit oily, but still YUMMY! Service: Corrina seriously is the reason I am writing this review! As I was frustrated with the parking situation by the harbor and just tired, she turned around my mood! She was so passionate and joyful about what she does and the food she serves! And she gave us the lowdown on the whole construction situation in Dana point! Thank you for your amazing service!!! Lastly: the inside is so pretty, inviting, and spread out and clean! Def will be back!! Thank you!
