My clothes were able to wash quickly. The longest load that I had washed for 40 minutes and everything for me dried within 25 minutes. This place will get you in and out quickly. I will say they are a bit pricey but they do have cheaper washing machines available that start at $2.50. It's nice that this place is 24 hours. The people that were in there were nice main members of the neighborhood. As you wash your clothes you can walk over to the nearby trail. Or sit outside they have tables and seats outside. Around the corner they have a dog washing area. Separate from the laundromat. It's good that they have it separate.

One pays a 4.00 deposit (key word - deposit). This is simply so the business gets the card back when one is done. The card is re-loadable. It also is easier for the customer - you add a set dollar amount and carry on and do your laundry. When done, simply turn the card in and your $4.00 deposit is refunded. They do not accept credit cards or debit cards so ensure you have cash. For the record, credit cards charge businesses a fee to use them. Some businesses choose not to have to deal with accepting debit or credit cards - that's life. 2 - Children do need to behave when in the business. As is typical in all businesses, one watches their child/children if they choose to bring them to a business with them. This is not a jungle gym, it is a laundry mat. Gard's employees are not babysitters. The laundry carts are not there for your child to use as amusement. 3 - Gard's has been a valued and well respected business in Crown Point for many years (well over 30). They are not a library (in regard to someone commenting the magazines were a couple years old), not a babysitting service, and not your servant. You are coming to a business to do laundry or to drop off/pick up laundry. 4 - As with all businesses, they have open and close times. They also have a cut off time - the time the last load of the day needs to be in to ensure that they are able to close on time. If you work, I will assume, your place of employment also has an open and close time and rules about those times. Therefor, it should make sense to one that Gard's has set times also. 5 - The parking lot is shared. There are painted numbers on the pavement as let's face it, a laundry may have more customers than a mortgage place (next door) and the building owner has numbered the parking slots. So yes, if one parks where they should not, an employee may say something to you. 6 - I've used Gard's laundry and dry cleaning services for many years. The place is always clean and service is pleasant.

I've gotten my towels back still dirty and had to bring them back. Another time, I paid cash because the attendant said the machine wasn't working, then the next morning I was accused of lying about paying the night before. Today I picked up my towels folded but still wet. If they're folded, I'm obviously going to assume they're dry. Yes, I should've checked, but this shouldn't happen in the first place. After years of doing business here, this shows a lack of care and attention to customers. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

I was happy to find That they had machines that could wash 5 and a 1/2 loads for only $6.75 which included 2 wash cycles and 3 rinse cycles. I had a very hectic day and I didn't have the patience to learn a machine that I was not familiar with, however; the attendant noticed my frustratuon and was nice enough to come help me get all of my clothes going. During the process I realized that 1 of the bottles of laundry soap that I grabbed was not actually laundry soap so I didn't have enough to wash all of my clothes. Lucky for me, I Didn't have to leave the laundromat to a new bottle from the store, because they had a nice selection of different sizes and brands of laundry soap for Customers to purchase...which I really appreciated... the two employees that I dealt with were very friendly. helpful, and kind. However -- a big problem: We wash our clothes scent-free due to a family member's asthma and allergies. Put in a load of laundry, used our own unscented Tide Free & Gentle liquid detergent, and the load came out strongly scented. I don't know if this is due to a previous person's load leaving scented residue, or if the establishment "freshens" the washers with something scented. We use this laundromat for heavy loads, or if we have a problem with our home machine. Unfortunately, we won't be able to patronize this location again due to the residual fragrance left in our laundry. It will take weeks or re-washing and hanging outside to try to remove it. Prior to the new ownership, we never had this issue.

I did have a little snafu with my comforter which took several try's to correct but the didnt hesitate to make it right. It still wasnt 100% on the last try so I probably just wont use them for Down Comforters but everything else was worth it. The clothes were so fresh and lasted that way for white some time and my whites where super white!! Give them a try...
