This review is for the pastries.
THE AMBIANCE:
Lo Saldes is a decent-sized bakery that has one side set up with baked goods and the other side set up for patron seating.
THE BAKED GOODS:
All around the baked good area there is bread and pastries laid out on tables, racks, and stored in refrigerators if perishable. There is a big bread/pastry display in the middle of the area and an area where the bread is stocked in little open cabinets. I don't know what my pastries were called but they weren't that great I have to say. The one that had either strawberry or raspberry on top -- I expected it to be soft and jam-like but it was semi-hard and gummy. The one that looks like a piece of lemon pie -- the crust was not flavorful and the filling was bland.
THE TIPS:
They have a deli station where you can order sandwiches and some items out of their oven such as calzones, sopaipillas (a kind of fried pastry), mediaslunas (croissant-style pastries), brownies, kuchen sureno (pie), and queques (muffins). read more
