We had a great experience with are first consultation they took X-rays, lots of pictures, and then talked about the best approach for us. Now days they are trying to have kids in braces very young. When I was there I had lost all my baby teeth and had all my adult teeth in. They said that would save us a lot of time and money in the long run. We decided to do the metal braces as they moved the teeth the best and the colors are fun to pick. We also had expanders and spacers as well. They aways had appointments available and if you has any issues with your braces then they can get you in to fix the issue. I will say before your braces come off if you need to get your wisdom teeth taken out then do so. Also wear your retainer after like they say. My teeth are still strait my sisters are now back to being crooked. The wisdom teeth came though and push her teeth and caused her to now need braces again. We've been frustrated recently that there doesn't seem to be any clear direction in his treatment and decided to look into other orthos that focused on airway and speech. Our myofunctional therapist recommended we have a consultation with Dr Jacobson. We booked a consultation with him and a few others orthodontists that came highly recommended. It's a bit of a drive for us from glencoe to Vernon hills, although after our trek to the city for orthodontist appointments the past 4 years this was doable. It's also conveniently located in the same center a starbucks (for those who need a constant caffeine fix like me) and coldstone creamery (soft treat bribery after ortho treatments). We were seen right away and they took some pictures of my son's mouth with the help of my husband. My son wasn't really a fan of the pictures, but powered thru. Then Dr. Jacobson came in and took a look in my son's mouth and at the pictures. We asked for an opinion of what he would do for our son's ortho treatment. I liked that, unlike some of the other orthodontists we met with, he mentioned how the expander and other devices would help with speech. He also seemed to strike a good balance between getting him the treatment he needs, but not going overboard. He's had one device after another over the last 4 years, which IMO has been too much. We left with lots of info and impressed. We met with a few other orthodontists and ultimately decided to give Dr. Jacobson a try. Every ortho seems to tell us something different, but we felt good with him plan after our consultation and our myofunctional speech therapist (who we trust a lot) has been impressed with his work for her other patients. We head back later this summer to start treatment with an expander so will update with future experiences, but based on the consultation feel good about our decision.

I can't say enough praises about this orthodontics group! Here's why I chose them:…read more 1. Credentials? - Formidable. Dr. Lee and Dr. Katie are international orthodontic authorities. They teach a lot and the group attracts patients from everywhere. My nieces' orthodontics group in Texas has Graber conference accreditations on their office walls to certify their own expertise. We were referred to Graber by a pediatric dentist who had personally suffered through traditional treatment for the condition my kid had - a Class 3 Underbite. Our dentist learned (in dental school at U of M) the game-changing treatment methods developed by Graber and being taught worldwide. If we wanted the world's best treatment for the condition - and avoid what she endured - we should go to Graber. So, we make a 60-75 min commute to get to them. 2. Results? My child's condition is often addressed by surgery (broken jaw, wired closed for the healing period) as a young adult. We avoided that awful experience by seeing Graber. Flawless and painless result in 12 months, as predicted. Even the little bumps (broken bracket, adjusting something that didn't feel right) were handled willingly as part of the package. My other child needed jaw expansion to avoid serial extractions. The expansion was done flawlessly, painlessly and more quickly than predicted. 3. Pricing/Billing/Administration? - Premium pricing. Well-explained. Well-documented, although you don't receive monthly bills by mail or email. I haven't used their website access for info or billing, although I should. Administration could be improved by (a) weekend appointments, and (b) automated email notices containing a link when something is posted (X-rays or bills), if HIPPA permits, (c) an after-visit summary that memorializes your doctor conversation about today's status and what's next. Orthodontic treatment for your kids is a significant investment in their physical and psycho/social health. In the end, you want a good result. CHECK. Along the way, you don't want to torture them or overpay to remedy mistakes. CHECK. We're so relieved that we chose Graber!

Had two consultations here…read more First time was fantastic with an experienced orthodontist and she recommended waiting at least half a year to re-evaluate as my son needed more time to develop. She showed me all the x rays and photos. I set aside money and was ready to commit to this office. About a year later we came back. Different orthodontist and style. She recommended extracting permanent teeth before braces. Her approach was somewhat off putting. I didn't feel heard and didn't seem like they considered all options or even provided the pros/cons for evaluation. Felt like they want you just to accept their opinion without explanation. When I asked to get a copy of x rays, since it wasn't viewed this time, they charged $270 or $350 including photos.
