Their products are imported from Japan as they use Japanese milk to produce their ice cream. Anything with Japanese milk always tastes amazing. I've walked pass this ice cream shop a handful of times but never stopped since I was never in the mood for ice cream. This time, I wanted to try what this shop has to offer, so I decided to just go for it. And..., I am so glad I did! I absolutely love all the different flavors they have to offer. Like I said, they have tons of "Asian" flavors which I have never seen, nor could I ever get, at ice cream stores in the states, etc. Some of their flavors include: black sesame, red bean, milk tea, green tea, and the list goes on. I was only going to get two scoops, so I debated hard between milk tea, black sesame, and red bean. Ultimately, I chose milk tea and black sesame since I've had red bean quite a bit recently and felt that the milk tea and black sesame flavors were more unique. Both scoops tasted really good and left my tummy extremely satisfied. The dinner I had earlier that night was not good, so I was happy to end the night with some yummy ice cream dessert.

There were no customers at the time, so my order came out incredibly fast. I ordered the Comb Honey flavor. They cover the sides of your cup with honey and then they pour in their incredible soft-serve. Then they top it with a piece of real honey comb. The soft serve was exceptional creamy and velvety. Coupled with the lightly sweet honey, it was a match made in heaven. I finished the entire cup in a matter of minutes and then I ate the honey comb. It was incredibly delicious. I definitely recommend stopping by if you want a delicious way to top off a meal.

They have quite a few choices but we ordered their recommended flavour which was honey comb. I don't know why but I was expecting honey comb flavoured ice cream instead it was just vanilla soft serve with a few pieces of honey comb around the edges. The ice cream was good but you could definitely taste that they made it with mix. It has that artificial milky vanilla taste to it. For this price, I don't think I will return for such average ice cream.

There was a time when soft serve became all the rage, and Via Tokyo was there through it all. While I miss the TST location (#1), this Causeway Bay version has a bit of seating and all the Japanese-inspired vibes one can ask for. Like most HK shops, the seating is tight and limited. There are wall-facing counter spots, along with a handful of tables for small groups. The wait is likely during the hot weather days (#2), but the turnover is quick since ice cream is consumed and melts quickly. The staff is young and friendly, doing their best to keep the ice cream coming while helping folks navigate the seating. Cones and cups range for roughly $40-45. The Hokkaido milk is my absolute favorite, smooth and creamy, and reminiscent of some of the ones I've had from Japan. Houjicha and matcha are the more popular items here, which take up a majority of the orders and is especially pretty when made into a bowl with fruits and other sweets. The moment of food photography won't last long, as the ice cream will begin to melt in less than a minute. HK dessert options are always revered. Thus, so is Via Tokyo and I hope they manage to stick around as long as possible. They take Alipay, Octopus, and of course, cash. ____________ (#1) Forever immortalized: https://www.yelp.com/biz/via-tokyo-香港-2?hrid=jtpxWsnvwDSZgQu9s6kF5g (#2) Which is often.

The rotating kakigori flavor of the month was black sesame. It was loaded with thick black sesame cream atop and inside the mound of shaved ice. But the cream was very sweet (especially in Hong Kong where desserts tend to be not sweet enough). They also had shaved nuts on top the ice, but it wasn't made apparent in the menu listing. Very dangerous for those with allergies. 2/VALUE. So they did give a lot! However, they did charge a lot too... 150 HKD or $18 USD. 3/SERVICE + AMBIANCE. You'd think with high prices that the service would be good. It's not. The staff is rude. You have to order the item via your phone after scanning a QR code. You have to get your own water and napkin. Also, make sure you don't take a picture of their kitchen area. They don't allow that.

Later, I checked my old posted pics and confirmed it wasn't the same dessert even though I ordered the same thing. This one tasted like ice with red dye syrup. Definitely not worth $130. I wouldn't even pay $40 for it. Really disappointed and won't be coming back.

As I was on my way to the Central MTR station, I heard a voice saying this repeatedly. Her enthusiasm definitely caught my attention and so, I decided to have a look at this and give it a try. Between the Lyndhurst Terrace and Gage Street, PRIMO Artisan Gelato is a rather tiny gelato place that you could have easily missed it unless you are looking for it. The girl that seems rather knowledgeable and told me that it serves gelato that is directly imported from Germany every morning. With secret recipes passed down several generations, it has already captivated so many Europeans' hearts. How can you not give it a try after hearing all that? There aren't that many choices to choose from and most flavours are quite predictable - hazelnut, chocolate mint, green apple, etc. But quality definitely triumphs quantity so I ordered a scoop of hazelnut to see how it tastes like. It is much smoother than traditional ice cream; however, other than that it seems quite similar. Maybe I am not a really good gelato expert but a scoop only cost me $30 dollars, which is quite pricey in my opinion. Two scoops for HKD$54 and I could have spent that on a proper meal already... Anyways, the staff is nice enough for me to see past it.

For weeks, I saw the sign that they'd be opening this Autumn on the charming Lee Tung Avenue and I couldn't wait. I'll be here for scoops and pints regularly! Given the proximity to my home, this means trouble, scoops and scoops of deliciously sprinkly, swirly trouble! They offer their full menu of ice cream (so many inventive flavors!), frozen yogurt, whimsical ice cream cones dipped in marshmallow and cereal (fruit loops, Rice Krispies, cocoa krispies), smoothies and coffee/tea. Ice cream cakes are available by order, but they do not have any on site. There's a nice seating area in the back if you need a break from the crowds on Lee Tung Ave and it will be great in the summer when you want to enjoy your ice cream w/o having it melt in the humidity of HK. They have a good assortment of flavors here, some are so creative so it would be helpful if they added a description of the ice cream flavors on their menu board. They currently have the name of the ice cream but not the ingredients so I've noticed other customers and myself asking the staff to describe each one until we've made a decision. That said, the staff here is extremely patient and all have been friendly. They even take special care in each order, when I've ordered to-go, they've neatly packed it in a bag with dry ice. A sweet addition to the avenue!
