Inside was a beautiful chaos: truckers comparing boots, kids losing their minds over slushies the size of small buckets, and a guy at the counter trying to buy a single banana and a windshield wiper. I headed for the restroom, and let me tell you, it was clean enough that I almost considered living there. Almost. The snack aisle was a spiritual experience--wall-to-wall trail mix, Hot Cheetos, and mystery meat sticks. I grabbed a soda, a slice of gas station pizza and got back on the road feeling satisfied. Love's isn't just a gas station. It's a strange, wonderful rest stop between "Where are we?" and "Are we there yet?" And in New Mexico, that's pretty much magic.

There are several signs at this business that are grossly unwelcoming, prominently stating that bathroom use is not allowed, no parking etc. Inside, the place is small and far from clean, and the person at the counter (whom I presume was the owner) is not at all welcoming or friendly. Despite buying some cold drinks there we were not allowed to use the bathroom, and felt overall unwelcome. I will NEVER stop at this place again.

There's plenty of trucker services from showers to qas and parking that were adequate for the truckers and for vehicles.

It does feel cramped and crowded in there between the aisles and people though Bathrooms: The bathroom was clean but there were only 3-4 stalls and a line the whole time. But heads up, you will get eaten alive by the mosquitos when the sun goes down. They do have bug spray outside, but those mosquitos are relentless. The beds were comfy and was a nice quiet stay. It's just sad that about 90% of this town is rundown or shutdown over the years. I would have loved to see it back in the day.

I could have made the reservation a day + out and people would be parked there. I've seen driver's be told to move, they drive through the parking lot, and then park back in those spots. Or those rude driver's ask the driver's with reserve spots to move. If that doesn't work they physically break into your rig and move your tractor and trailer. I travel with a small collapsible wagon to bring things in for a stay. Then I was informed there is no elevator. Not that it was out of order, but the building does not have one. I had no other choice but to stay. Multiple trips were required to bring everything in including a cooler. The stairs closest to the entrance that was recommended to me were just raw metal. It was ironic that there was an accessible button for the door there. It did have an access to the first floor, but if someone checked in that needed accessibility and the first floor was sold out they would be out of luck. I was traveling with my daughter. We went down for breakfast in the morning, made our plates and headed back to our room. Breakfast was ok. My daughter liked that the New Mexico symbol was on her waffle. The staff was nice and there is plenty of parking.
