We've had Lj's come out twice now for repairs to our RV. The first time Larry came out he installed a heater that we bought. It was an exact model of the one that came out so all he needed to do was pull the old one out and put the new one in. He did a great job and was on his way. So when our hot water heater broke last month, I called him out to install our new one. We made an appointment for him to come out. I explained to him over the phone exactly what we were doing, taking out the old hot water heater and replacing it with the exact same model new one. My husband prepared the ground for him with a tarp unboxed the new one and unhooked what he could from the old one. Because the only time he could do it was in the middle of the day and my husband and I both work I had my son here to watch the work being done and to provide the payment, whom I'd explained everything to, or so I thought. My son called my husband and put Larry on the phone when the work was done...$155! My husband instructed my son to pay him, even though it was a high price for the work done we were glad to have a hot water heater. Upon arriving at home later that evening, we realized our old hot water heater was gone. Asked my son where it was as we were going to sell it for parts on eBay. He said that after he paid Lj's, Larry boxed up our old one and put it in his truck. My son assumed since my husband and Larry just hung up the phone after discussing the work done he was told to take it. He didn't do that with our heater, I believe a couple of reasons why. One, it had a leak and emitted carbon monoxide (un reusable) and two, my husband was here watching him. Larry never asked us if he could take it. His direct words to my son (after just handing back my sons phone to him) were "take this, right?" What upsets me the most about the service the second time is the lack of respect for his customers. He took a hot water heater that was in a condition that could be resold or reinstalled but didn't take the unsalvageable heater that was leaking. He took advantage of my sons naive understanding of the situation. Thought I could trust him based on our first experience but now we want everyone to know that if he is working on your rig...watch and make sure he's not taking advantage of the job. These hot water heaters go for $200 on eBay not working!!! And he took mine without our consent and I feel it was sneaky asking my son after just hanging up with my husband. Shady! Shady!
