Pastries de Bacalhau - the crust was not brown enough. May be longer time. The stuffing was flavorful but it's more the cod taste than the flavored mash potatoes which I prefer. I actually prefer the other local restaurant I tried the night before better. Caldo Verde - The potatoe part of the soup is great. Perfect viscosity but the flavor is not. It wasn't salty enough but more importantly is the flavor of the veggies and the spicy sausage they supposed to use that makes the soup taste different. Grilled giant pawns - The flavor of the prawns is not as intense as expected and hope to be. The squid ink pasta also lacked of flavor. That's disappointing. With the prawns, they should at least use the prawn shell to make sauce for the pastas. The pasta was tasteless, didn't even use enough garlic and olive oil to flavor it up. Seafood rice - Another disappointment. They used fish, small mussels and little bit of shrimp pieces along with some bigger whole shrimps and mussels. However, the rice was lack of the true seafood flavor that made from shell fish. They also added cilantro which overwhelmed the whatever left of seafood flavor. The lemonade was not a sweet lemonade but sour. Fyi. It's not fair we just went to another restaurant in the neighborhood and everything was so much better but people should know.

Watching the chefs in their element preparing the dishes was so cool; for such a tight space, they were a well-oiled machine. Here were my favorites: 1. The tomato soup with egg. So, so simple, with only two main ingredients, but perfectly executed. I'll need to try making this at home with the immersion blender. 2. Pan con tomato with jamón ibérico. I'm sitting here writing this review and crying a little on the inside that we in the States don't have such easy access to quality ingredients to make such a stand-out dish. Grilled bread, tomato spread, and the best jamón I've ever tasted. This was an order we added at the very end and I'm glad we did. 3. The sweet rice pudding with cinnamon ice cream and toasted rice krispies on top. I was almost too full to function by this point but still made room to demolish this dessert. We also got the grouper stew, which was pretty good, but at that point, I had basically gotten the same dish multiple times and this one didn't particularly stand out. Definitely make reservations! There are two seats on the street but I personally wouldn't want to sit there as there's a ton of foot traffic in the area (plus the cars drive pretty close too so you're also breathing in fumes and exhaust). A perfect dinner in Lisbon: oysters at Rosamar one street over and then some tapas and drinks at Tapisco.

The standout--and must-order--dish is the cod with egg (their refined take on the classic bacalhau). It's silky, savory, and perfectly balanced, with the egg adding richness without overpowering the delicate salt cod. Truly iconic and reason alone to come here. Other highlights included the mussels, pan con tomate with jamón ibérico, and the seafood rice, which is deeply flavorful and ideal for sharing. Every plate arrived beautifully presented and thoughtfully seasoned. The space is chic and energetic with an open-kitchen vibe. Service was polished and knowledgeable, though it gets busy fast--reservations are essential even for a Sunday night. Tapisco is ideal for a stylish night out, a special dinner, or anyone wanting to experience modern Portuguese cuisine done right. Memorable and crave-worthy.

Our server was adorable and bubbly with a great sense of humor. She did get really busy though toward the end of our meal and it was a challenge to flag her down for our check. With that said, she provided exceptional service earlier. This is the kind of place you want to go to with others who love tasting a variety of dishes. I went with my family who is not into that concept, and so I had to choose just one dish that I would not be sharing, as no one else wanted to share theirs either. Some of the dishes were quite small, but mine was not! I ordered the octopus which was cooked to perfection and had a mix of potatoes and greens underneath. Would definitely order this again! It was one of the best octopus dishes I've ever had. The one thing we did share was the croquettes. They were delightful, but kind of expensive as they were 1.70Euros each and were literally one bite, but a very flavorful bite at that. I also had a few glasses of their summer sangria which I rather enjoyed. I would return here when in Cascais again, but maybe with a different group of people so that we can treat it as tapas as it should be instead of individual dishes. There's so much more I want to try from their menu!

We split 3 dishes and definitely couldn't do a 4th as the portions were perfect to share. Dishes we ordered were the octopus with Migas, the wild crispy shrimps and the Ze Povinho which is black pork cheeks slow cooked in red wine. The octopus was incredibly tender and served over potatoes that had a lot of flavor. The shrimps were 4 large (prawns not sure why they were called shrimo?) were fried but nice and juicy. The puree of the avocado and mango with the prawns was a winning combo! We were both pretty full but ate every bit of the pork beef cheeks which was served with au gratin potato that had a hint of dill in it which I was surprised I like as I'm not a huge dill fan.. Once we got to this spot and this are in general we knew it was the place to be at. Monday evening and packed!
