We recently took a full day French Riviera driving tour with Leo departing from Cannes this week. Leo was unprofessional, uncouth, aloof, indifferent and cold from the start. Its as if he took one look at us and decided then that he would give no effort that day. He arrived to pick us up and had a filthy car seat without straps for which he immediately said he was not responsible for and for us to install ourselves. He ranted forever before we finally interrupted him and informed him that we had our own car seat that we would be using for our baby. Leo drove as though he had a death wish. I am surprised that the brakes even work on the van at this point. He floored the van constantly in gridlock traffic on the highway and passed cars at ungodly speeds on windy roads with no visibility ahead. This was after telling us how dangerous this specific road was that Princess Grace had died on years ago. He tailed cars, driving unsafely on their bumpers, exhibited road rage, and drove like a complete maniac while our family and baby were in the car. I have never been more terrified as a passenger. Leo jammed brakes constantly due to his complete lack of spatial perception and my son's toys and our belongings (phones, cameras, etc.) repeatedly fell on the floor during the ride. The ride was so choppy that my baby vomited in the backseat on the way back to Cannes. While in Monaco, some French speaking tourists overbearingly decided that they would approach Leo in the middle of our tour to ask him questions. We were strapped for time as we only have a few minutes in each destination and we needed Leo to give us the map, tell us where to meet him and when to do so. Instead he was so concerned with helping the French speaking people that you would think that they had paid for the tour. We had to interrupt them and tell him that we needed instructions on when and where to meet him as time was ticking. He could not have cared less about us and instead prioritized random people on the street. Upon returning to our hotel, lazy Leo did not even bother to drop us off in front as it was inconvenient to him. He made up a pitifully untrue excuse that there were no spaces in front of the hotel so he had to drop us across the street instead of making a u-turn and dropping us (our baby, car seat, stroller and souvenirs for the day) where he picked us up. While we were relieved to finally get out of the car with this lunatic I did snap a picture before we got out showing that there were indeed spaces in front of our hotel, he just did not want to sit in stand still traffic and make the u-turn back to our hotel.
What made me even more upset was upon writing corporate to detail the lack of professionalism and dangerous driving, I received a very odd, deflecting and unapologetic reply from someone at the company named Greg who prefaced his email with nothing but praise for Leo. He exclaimed how great Leo is, how he's never had an accident and how he's never had a bad report. How tone deaf! Well he has had a bad report now. DO NOT EVER BOOK THIS COMPANY and if you care about your life NEVER TOUR WITH LEO. I don't care what anyone thinks of Leo, we had a terrible experience and I don't doubt for a second that he has behaved this way with other tourists. Greg went on to ridiculously claim that we should be happy we had the van to ourselves and got a private tour? A private tour? We would have booked a private tour if that was our concern. He stated that he knows that we had a great time and that we even visited a lighthouse. I was completely confused by his response and wondered why he chose to go off on a tangent rather than addressing and apologizing for my concerns. Also who is he to tell us how to feel and what to be grateful for after spending our money. He didn't acknowledge my car sick child, the pictures I sent, the reckless driving or anything. He also claimed that the 20% refund he was extending (when a full refund was requested) was "exceptional". He was just as unprofessional as Leo.
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS, ITS NOT WORTH RISKING YOUR TIME OR SAFETY.
Not only is Leo the driver disrespectful and careless but beyond him the employees neither listen to nor believe customers. It is clear that they all need training on customer service and listening. If someone writes in indicating a serious issue including pictures and detailed descriptions, your response should be apologetic not praising the offender.
I am completely disappointed not only in the reckless driving but also in the awfully insensitive reply from the company and poor refund. I hope that no one ever has to experience what we experienced. read more
