Loved how he shared his passion for art, architecture and history. He was so patient as we created a custom day. Safety was a priority as our family was traveling with a couple of mobility impaired seniors. Walked the Red Carpet in Cannes. After a short walk along the beach and exploring the handprints of the stars, we were off to Nice. Along the way, Frederic told us about the royalty, artists and movie stars that lived and worked along this part of the French Riviera. Especially loved hearing about Princess Grace and the filming of "To Catch a Thief" with Gary Grant. My sister-in-law wanted to hit a local grocery store. Monoprix was perfect for her to stock up on sardines and pates. The macarons and chocolate croissants were bakery fresh. Next to the Chagall Museum in Nice. What an amazing collection of Chagall paintings, lithographs and stained glass. They even have a Steinway grand piano that was painted by Chagall. One of my favorite stops of the day. When in Nice, the Flower Market is a must. So lovely to be able to stroll through the historic flower market enjoying the wonderful colors, fragrant flowers and delicious treats. Since it was established in 1897, it has been an integral market for locals and tourists. Russian Czar, Nicholas II, loved this market so much that he would buy flowers and transport them by train for a market in St. Petersburg two days later. Today, the market is filled with stalls of venders with fragrant bouquets, soaps made from lavender from Provence and trees with hibiscus blossoms. Bring a bag to fill with fresh fruits and vegetables. The donut peaches were so sweet. Cookies and Turkish delight are sold by the kilo. Or order a cannoli filled with pistachio or nocciola (hazelnut) cream. Such a great place to pick up a sweet treat or a souvenir made locally. Next Frederic took us to Saint-Paul de Vence. Such a charming town. It is one of the oldest Medieval towns on the French Riviera. Loved learning about the many artists that drew inspiration in this serene village. Pablo Picasso worked here. Gene Wilder and Gilda Radner were married here. Marc Chagall lived here creating many beautiful pieces. He and his family are buried in the cemetery at the end of the path. Look for the grave covered in stones to the right. Today, Saint-Paul de Vence is filled with so many art galleries. From classic to contemporary to pop art, it is fun to pop in and out of the galleries. The day was perfect, and Frederic was the best guide! A Wonderful Experience with Sylvie on the French Riviera…read more Sylvie will drive you to the best spots of the French Riviera. If you love food trips, Sylvie is the guide to call--she will take you to the finest restaurants in town. Interested in local markets? She has a list of flea markets on varying days. One of the highlights of our trip was experiencing three countries in one day: breakfast in France, lunch in Italy, and dinner in Monaco. If you're planning to visit during the Grand Prix, when most roads are blocked, Sylvie is the right person to take you there. She knows the streets of Monaco by heart and arranges perfect pick-up and drop-off points. We also visited Cannes for a quick dip and got to taste the Mediterranean waters. But the most memorable experience was when she invited us for morning tea at her home. Spending time with JJ and Roma made it feel like a second home. Staying in Nice, we knew we wanted to take in a lot of sight-seeing (the one requisite was seeing the Casino at Monaco) on the one full day in downtown Nice. So planned ahead and looked in Viator for full-day tours that included hotel pick-up. The best match was one that was offered by Star Tour, to include both Monaco and Cannes, with a small group (maximum of 8 people) with an English-speaking guide. Named: French Riviera in One Day from Nice. It cost about $100 per person, and clearly stated it did not include food. There is also a generous cancellation policy (as long as 24 hours before). I got a text message and email, confirming the time of pick-up (the tour was scheduled for 9 AM) to be 20 minutes. Our guide, Isaora (Isa), personally stopped by our lounge exactly as stated, and let us know that she had found temporary parking close by. We were gong to take a 9 person Ford van, and were the first ones. She let us know that we were going to have 7 total tourists on the morning portion (Monaco) and then have only 5 for the afternoon (Cannes). I knew right away that we were going to have a good tour, just with Isa's personality and obvious love of the area. She gave us interesting facts as she drove, and was a very safe driver, driving through the mountainous roads, giving very scenic views of the ocean and towns from top. And because we came during low season, she was able to drop us off closer to our destination, and didn't have to worry about crowds. Morning stops: -Eze - 50 minutes, walking around the town, visiting few retail shops. -Perfume Factory - 60 minutes, including a scheduled free tour. -Monaco - 50 minutes - 11:55 - saw the changing of the guard at the Royal Palace. - Cathedral of Monaco - on our own, we found the cathedral and went inside. This is the resting place of the royal family of Monaco, including Prince Rainer and his wife, Princess Grace. -Grand Prix course - Isa took us on a driving tour of a part of the race course. -Casino of Monte Carlo - 20 minutes - Monte Carlo is one of the 4 cities of Monaco, the capital This stop was very quick, giving us minutes to take outdoor pictures of the casino and the luxury cars in front. We then drove back to Nice, and dropped off 3 that only took the morning tour. At this point, it was already 2 pm. We then picked up one additional person, and then headed in the opposite direction towards Cannes. Afternoon stops: -St Paul de Vence - 50 minutes. a small, village up in the hills, with cute shops and restaurants. -Antibes - 45 minutes - resort town, known for the most number of super-yachts on the French Riveria. There is a nice town center, and had the most tourists of all the places we stopped at. There is also beautiful views of the ocean, and an ocean walk (though parts of it were closed because of construction) - Cannes - 35 minutes - picture opportunity in front of the red carpet of Cannes. It is also a very high-end retail street, with many of the European fashion houses having retail stores. We got back to our hotel by 6:50...so almost 10 hours on the tour total. The vast majority was spent on sightseeing vs driving around. Note that this is a driving tour. On the areas where we were dropped off, it was up to us to find places to visit, and return at the right time. In every place, the time given seemed like the right amount of time, and every participant was good about coming back on-time to keep the schedule. Because there are so many great places to visit, so close by, your time in the car just being driven is minimized. As mentioned, Isa was great. Because this is a European tour, gratuities are not expected, but definitely deserved one. She even dropped us off at her recommended restaurant for dinner, before being on her way. I consider something like this a sampler, letting us know any places that we would want to come back to for a deeper dive. There is not enough time to eat at a sit-down restaurant or take a optional tour. There is a quite a bit of walking, and the experience would go best if you prepared by having your own food and beverages. But all of that was clearly indicated in the tour description, and except for the things not controllable (weather, crowd size), this tour delivered...over delivered actually.

My friends had chosen this tour and we booked in advance, and I was having second thoughts about it, thinking it may be boring or tiresome. I was wrong. The tour took us to Cannes, Gourdon, Grasse, Saint Paul de Vence and Loup Georges. Every stop was better than the last - we toured a candy factory, a perfumerie, saw the world-famous Cannes red carpet, walked the cobblestone streets of Saint Paul de Vence, ate lunch in a gorgeous village overlooking the Alps... I couldn't possibly ask for more in one lovely day. Our tour guide, Thomas, was fantastic. So nice, full of info and a great sense of humor. To top it off, we actually saw U2, the ENTIRE BAND, in a restaurant in Saint Paul de Vence!!!!! Seriously, it was the cherry on top of a magnificent day. Take this tour - you won't regret it.

I saw a few posts raving about SeaZen in a travel group I'm in and it did not disappoint! This was by far the most reasonably priced boat experience I saw, and we had such a great time. The boat was really easy to find in the Marina in Beaulieu-sur-Mer (we took an Uber from Nice but you can take a train as well)- they provide clear directions to the boat at booking which came in handy. We met our captain and guide Guillaume who was amazing. We booked the 2 hr trip and he gave us some options of what we wanted to see. He took us up the coast around Saint Jean Cap Ferrat we were able to get pretty close and we were able to see all the stunning villas and views up close. He pointed out and share some really fun information about all of them. Then we anchored for about 30 minute where we were able to jump off the boat and swim in the stunning blue water. He even had pool noodles and goggles onboard for us to use. After swimming we took a ride around some of the insanely large and expensive yachts out on the water. We were even able to take turns driving the boat. The boat itself is super cool. It is solar powered and completely silent, which was really relaxing and made talking and listening to him point things out so much easier. The deck of the boat was cork so it was not slippery at all after swimming and the whole boat was very comfortable! I would highly recommend booking SeaZen (we used Get Your Guide to book)! I'm so glad we decided to add this to our itinerary!

I was fortunate to have found Riviera Premium Tour online, and began communication through the internet with Jerome. We used Liven Up a few years ago and had a great day. Loved meeting Yann this time. He was an amazing host. Enjoyed how he shared his passion for art, history and local trivia. He was so patient as he changed the itinerary based on traffic jams and road closures to create a very personalized day. Tried to walk the Red Carpet in Cannes, but it was closed for the Cannes Film Festival which started the next day, so we headed to Monaco instead. Cleverly, he exited the highway due to heavy traffic to take us through small French villages on the way to Monte Carlo. Along the way, Yann shared stories about the royalty, artists and movie stars that have lived and worked along this part of the French Riviera. Especially loved hearing about Princess Grace and the royal family. However, passing by where she had her tragic fatal accident was so sad. Once in Monaco, we bought tickets to explore the Royal Palace and were treated to the Changing of the Guards. Timing is everything. The view of Monaco and Monte Carlo from the palace is stunning. Next, Yann drove one lap of the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix. Interesting to hear about the race, including cars flipping and crashing onto yachts over the years. Scary! The grandstands and safety barricades were already set up along the course as the Grand Prix starts two weeks after the Cannes Film Festival. As a huge fan of Marc Chagall, Saint-Paul de Vence is a must see for me. Such a charming town. It is one of the oldest Medieval towns on the French Riviera. It was nice to stop along the road to get an overview before entering the walled city and climbing up the cobblestone walkways to check out the church, the art galleries and the cemetery. (Though i've met a few really nice people) What I'm talking about is fly in helicopters, go across the French Riveria in fast boats, and drive fancy cars. That's what Liven Up provides for people visiting the area of Nice, Monaco, St.Tropez, etc. I assume "Liven Up" is bad English for "living it up" like John Legend's song. But I'll let them slide on the name because the excursions and activities they provide are really fun things to do. I've been to many beautiful places in the world but I have to say this part of the world has the best weather I've ever seen. No humidity, around 80 degrees everyday, water as blue as Megan Fox's eyes. Which brings me to my Liven Up Driving Experience. The hotel set up an appointment for them to come meet me at Novotel at 10:30am. The driving instructor/guide was punctual, right at about 10:25am he showed up in front of the hotel. The driving instructor explained the paddle shifting on the Ferrari f430 Spider. He has a video camera set up to film my whole driving experience. Then he directed me to some really awesome curvy roads at the border of Monaco and France. Definitely should be on every guy's bucket list. Drive a Ferrari in France. Check. Next on the list, run with the bulls in Spain or meet Juan Valdez... Using Liven Up is helping me to abide by the customs of society in Monaco while visiting.
