First station after entering from France, Ventimiglia was the station where we switched from the French national train line (SNCF) to the Italian national train line (trenitalia).
We arrived on Track 3 from Nice, France at 8:40 AM on a Saturday. We intentionally planned a longer layover of almost two hours, so had plenty of time to figure out where we needed to go next. There is no wi-fi available, and the best place to wait is actually outside. We discovered that the track to go to Genova Piazza Principe was Track 2, which was on the same platform. We ended up getting some cookies to bunch on at the train station. Another thing that we noticed was that the announcements were now being made in Italian and English (not French).
The 9:57 train came to the station at 9:40, and we had plenty of time to board and choose good seats. There were overhead luggage racks for our baggage, and the seats were comfortable. Someone did come around and check our tickets.
The train left at 9:57 exactly and we had a comfortable trip to Genova Principe, taking a little under 2.5 hours. The stops on the way were:
Vallecrosia at 10:08;
Sanremo at 10:13.
Taggia Arma at 10:19;
10:29: Imperia;
10:34: Diano;
10:51: Alassio.
10:58: Albenga
11:05: Loano
11;11: Pietra L.
11:19: Finale Ligure
11:25: Spotorno Noli
11:33: Savona
11:50: Genova Voltri
11:58: Genova Sestri Ponente
12:11: Genova Sampierdarena
12:20: Genova Piazza Principe
