We are incredibly grateful for Ms. Ashley and everything she has done for our son. Teaching…read moretwo-year-olds takes an incredible amount of patience, compassion, and dedication, and Ashley brings all of that and more into her classroom every day. She has been such a positive influence on our son and has played a huge role in helping him grow more confident and independent. One of the biggest milestones she has helped him with is potty training, and her encouragement and consistency have made such a difference. She knows how to teach responsibility and independence while still making children feel cared for, supported, and safe. What stands out most about Ashley is the heart she puts behind everything she teaches. She doesn't just tell the children what to do--she helps them understand, encourages them to try, and celebrates their progress. She has a wonderful way of holding children accountable while still making them feel loved and capable. We have seen our son grow so much under her care, and we truly believe Ashley has helped give him the confidence to take on new challenges. Knowing that he is spending his days with someone who genuinely cares about him means so much to us as parents. We are incredibly thankful for Ashley and the positive impact she has had on our son's life. She is the kind of teacher families remember long after their children leave her classroom, and we feel very lucky that our son has had her as part of his early childhood experience.

After taking one step on campus, I knew that Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) was the right place…read morefor my kids. Living in the area, we are fortunate to have many options to consider: from public, to charters, to private faith and non-faith based schools. And, although my husband is an alumni of OLPH, I did not want that to influence my decision. However, I simply could not deny how comfortable I immediately felt and how impressed I was with the tour. It started with the kindness that I received as I walked into the office to start my tour. Another parent overheard that I was touring and welcomed me and told me about how happy she was with the school and the faith community. My tour guide Maria was so patient and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. And let me tell you I threw a lot at her as I'd done my homework! One thing that struck me was that no matter where we went on campus, there were connections. It became clear how much teachers and staff truly love what they do. Multiple teachers have 20+ year legacies, while others are former alumni, and still others started as homeroom moms and are now on the administrative staff! What makes them stay? Their dedication to educating children and providing a faith-based environment, their devotion to their teaching ministry, and the amazing staff they work with every day to shape our children into kind, responsible young people. It isn't just the teachers who have this legacy, but it's also the parents. In fact, there are some families who have sent three generations to the school! Like my husband, many former graduates send their children to OLPH. This is what makes the community unique and special. Then, there is the academics. With small class sizes and highly qualified teachers, your child will be set up for success. Besides the core subjects, every class from K-8 learns Spanish. Additionally, the school has a Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) room where creativity blooms. Lastly, as a faith-based school, religion is interwoven into the curriculum. The day begins with morning prayer and students volunteer to do readings over the loud speaker for all to hear. With weekly Mass and Sacrament preparation included in the day, children become full members of the church by the end of the third grade. Not Catholic? No problem! Although religion is a required part of the curriculum, receiving the Sacraments is a personal choice and many families choose our school with different religious or non-religious beliefs. We have a great sports program, wonderful pre- and post-school care, after school homework help, and so many fun enrichment programs to extend the day. We even have a Transitional Kindergarten program! We are a tremendous feeder into parochial high schools, with most of our 8th graders feeding into Brophy, Xavier, Notre Dame and others. Go take a tour today. I promise you won't be disappointed!

He was being teased for playing with a little girl and after so many days, he defended himself saying to his friend "girls are dogs and dogs drink out of toilet bowls" When I picked my son up from school he was crying, devastated, saying that he got written up. He told me what happened and what was said. We talked why he did it and why it wasn't ok. The teacher messaged me on class dojo explaining what happened and that my son was very honest with her immediately, she talked to him and she could tell he was genuinely sorry. That he chose to make a difference by writing an assignment on anti bullying, I explained that he was sorry and the he said he wouldn't do it again..and that was the end of the discussion. I though it was over and dealt with until I picked my son up the next day and he was devastated crying AGAIN.....Nobody there with him to explain why he's so upset. He told me that he had to stay in a room and eat his lunch while writing an assignment on what Sousa's Expectations are from him, for using unkind words AND then had to sit on a bench for recess while everyone else got to play! That was his punishment for the rest of the week! Mind you, nobody ever informed me of him getting this kind of treatment!! I thought it was dealt with the day before! When I called the school to understand the situation both the principal secretary and principal were incredibly rude to me, pretty much called me a liar at one point. The principal said things like "you must feel like you guys are higher and above everyone else to think he shouldn't get this kind of punishment" (even tho my son was the only one punished in this "incident") and "if he was using kind words, he wouldn't be in this situation" instead of trying to make the situation better and being on the same page. It was their way or find another school! This school since then has deleted my reviews and won't even reply back to my emails. I've never dealt with something like this before and wouldn't wish it on anyone. The lack of respect is unreal. It was the first time he was ever in trouble! The punishment was too harsh for something so small. I was understanding the first day but it is not ok to treat any child this way and/or any parent for that matter. I have gotten plenty of advice from plenty of mothers and also see other ratings that state almost the same things to know my feelings are also justified and that this is not ok and they are perfectly fine with showing they DO NOT CARE!
