This review reflects our experience at the Val Vista campus only and is specific to the current administration there: We enrolled believing a small, faith-based school would provide stronger leadership, accountability, and a more protected learning environment than public options. That was not our experience. Beneath the polished tours and Christian branding, leadership at this campus proved ineffective, dismissive, and unwilling to meaningfully address serious concerns raised by families. Many parents are drawn to a Christian school hoping to shield children from age-inappropriate influences; ironically, in our personal experience, our children were exposed to more inappropriate language and behavior here than they had been in a Chandler public school, with limited administrative response. Administration frequently emphasized high demand to attend, yet from our firsthand experience and conversations with other parents, just as many families appeared to be leaving. Academic quality and classroom professionalism raised serious questions about how teachers are hired, their qualifications, and why turnover seemed high. Tuition and a Christian label do not automatically guarantee a better education, stronger values, or responsible leadership. This review is shared in good faith to encourage families to look beyond appearances and ask direct questions about leadership accountability, discipline policies, teacher hiring practices, and retention before enrolling. read more

Very exclusive, it feels like you are trying to hand pick your students and exclude anyone that may not be an "A" student.

I have three kids there, one at the Greenfield Elementary location and two at the High School. While they have only been there less than a full year (starting late this year) we are very happy with the experience, the level of care and concern, and the curriculum. Catholics: I'm writing this review to try and save you the frustration we felt when GCS emailed us to let us know they will not be accepting us to their school because we are Catholic and they prefer "Protestant and Evangelical" applicants. I asked during our tour if there were any Catholic students and what the general attitude is toward Catholic applicants and I was told they have Catholic students but they do not teach Catholicism. I was not seeking a Catholic education for my kids, I was seeking a Christian education with focus on the Bible and scripture. I feel as though we were mislead and I wish GCS had been upfront regarding this stipulation for acceptance simply so they wouldn't have wasted our time and gotten our hopes up. I understand they cannot accept everyone and require certain metrics to funnel the right applicants, I just wish they would have been upfront and honest with us. read more

We couldn't be happier with our choice to attend Gilbert Christian Greenfield. I have a first grader, and a pre-k student. When we made the switch, I was worried that we wouldn't fit in, or keep up with the academics. I couldn't have been more wrong. The teachers and principal welcomed our family with open arms, in a genuine caring way. Our first grade teacher took extra time with my daughter to catch her up, and she is thriving! She's exceeding expectations in all subjects. As a parent, your ideas are supported and your involvement is wanted and appreciated. It's the perfect balance of professional and academic, yet loving and like a family. My first grader has maybe 15 minutes of "homework" every day, which includes reading and review. Totally something we can handle. My pre-k student is reading and doing math, and I'm blown away! The love of Jesus is shown through every person you encounter here. There are many service projects, diaper drives, and encouragement to be involved in the community. Our school supports the local Gilbert PD, and does prayer and the pledge every day before class begins. The after school clubs are awesome. Baseball, golf, drawing club, chess, stem, cheer just to name a few. I can't even force myself to find a criticism of this school! We are so incredibly happy, and are able to attend for NO money out of pocket, thanks to the private school tax credit. Mrs. Wilson, the principal, is always smiling and the students and staff respect and love her so much. A true leader in Christ! Very thankful for GCS Greenfield! read more

For those looking to enroll: if you belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you may not enroll. This isn't listed on their website, so for those if you who read reviews, I'll save you an hour of enrollment time. I've heard great things about this school and was surprised to be discriminated against. Just as a suggestion to the school: it would be wise to list which Christian religions are not permitted to enroll on your website so there isn't confusion. read more

We love Gilbert Christian Greenfield. As a mom with 3 kiddos at the school from kindergarten to 7th grade we couldn't be happier. The teachers love the students and keep Christ at the center of the teaching. It is so comforting knowing that the teachers and staff are praying for your students and care about their education and character development. I'm so glad we are at GCS! read more

The principal at this new campus is very unprofessional. We had a meeting with her about accelerating our son one grade (doing the proper testing) and she said that she only did that for a girl and since my son wasn't enrolled at this school his case was going to be reviewed last. She told us that she would get back to us on about a week and we never heard back from her. I was surprised that she was the principal since she comes from a mostly LDS charter school. We were lucky to find another Christian school with a very experienced Christian principal who is willing to accelerate my son to help him succeed. We'll be taking our son, faith and money there. read more

Gilbert Christian offers students an opportunity to experience a personalized learning experience, smaller class sizes rooted in faith and guidance, and an inclusive environment we didn't find at our local neighborhood school. We have had nothing but positive experiences and the staff and instructional leadership is outstanding. I would highly recommend this school to all. read more

If 10 stars were an option, I would happily give Gilbert Christian, Greenfield campus that rating!! We love this school as a whole, the campus, the teachers, the support staff and best of all we LOVE that our children can pray and learn more about Jesus Christ!!!! My family has attended GCS for 4 years. Our children began at the PreK4 level. They are excelling in all subjects. They love their teachers and are excited for the 'Special' classes, to name a few: Piano, Godly Play, Art, GEAR, and computer. The support staff at this campus are impeccable! The principal, Mrs. Wilson, is by far one of the best principles I know. She is compassionate, God-loving, and she genuinely cares about the students, teachers, and parents. We were so excited to relocate to the area and find this school with stellar recommendations. However, we have been disappointed with how the principal conducts herself. She seems to want to be in control of everything which has caused more problems then letting her teacher's handler situations. She is grumpy in the morning and yelling through the traffic line, where you have the Vice Principal out there every morning with a smile greeting all families and students. We also loved GCS because the Vice Principal, Mr. Thomas brings diversity which is rare to find in Gilbert. But the Principal has been unprofessional and created unnecessary dramatic environment between parents, teachers, and administrative staff. We have an elementary student and middle school so we have experienced both sides. Middle School is more handled by Mr. Thomas which everyone adores because of his young, vibrant personality. Not to mention Mr.Thomas handles every situation with class and does not bring his emotions into it. I hope that administrative staff can see the issues that Mrs. Wilson creates and hoping we can end the year better. read more
