I'd like to start by saying I'm not a complainer. I understand stuff happens…read more But today we drove 40 minutes to get to Madrac Farms. The gravel road into it was blocked off, and instead there was a dirt road full of humongous potholes, filled with woodchips! I've never driven slower in my life....what the heck? There was a long line to get down this road....then when we get to the parking lot, after 10 minute down the drive, the parking lot is full. Probably 100 cars driving slowly around the parking area, hoping someone will miraculously leave, and hoping you're in the right place at the right time. There were no employees in the parking lot directing anyone. So rather than a corn-maze, we spent literally 30 minutes in a parking-lot-maze, trying to get the heck out of there. I understand people probably swarmed the place, due to the covid lockdown we live in. But we promised our two-year-old pumpkins and goats. Instead she got 2 hours in her car seat, and a trip to Walmart to get a pumpkin and a toy, for being so well-behaved during this waste of time. If the owners read this, I would advise the following: 1) get a proper road (gravel is great, not potholes and woodchips) 2) build a larger parking area 3) have some employees out there directing traffic 4) if you're over-capacity, turn people away at the main road!! I wish the owners success in their venture. Business owner myself. But I guarantee, we will not be back.

Upon returning to our Airbnb decided to go through our pictures. Initially I was sad because my stepdad was blacked out in the pic. We did some research and there were other pics online confirming of the same sighting. I think it's the veiled face!

Arriving in Savannah on Juneteenth, I realized some of the sites I wanted to see were closed. One…read moreof those sites was the Juliette Low Museum, the founder of the Girl Scouts. What I didn't realize was that the Andrew Low house was nearby. He, of course, became one of the richest people in Savannah in the 1800s and had this house to show of his massive wealth. We stuck around for a tour that lasted about 45 minutes. Was pretty informative and learned a lot of things about Juliette that carried over to when we saw the museum a couple days later. One of the cool things we saw was an upright grand piano, of which only 3 exist in the entire world. That was pretty cool. This was a fun respite from the heat and wasn't overly expensive.
