Hope Ranch Zoo is a great adventure! Staff was welcoming and helpful and there were so many animals!!! Was so surprising for a Zoo in the middle of Guyton! The gift shop was so cute and they offered a small amount of concessions type of snacks. The main building also had clean restrooms and an area with picnic tables. Birds... So many birds... More than Alfred Hitchcock could ever imagine!!! Our favorite animals that we saw were the camel, the many peacocks, zebras, and the prairie dog. Of course the miniature goats were also adorable. It looks like they are still building out the space for future animals and human guest. Excited to go back to see what is new in the future! read more

Today we took a little family adventure out to Hope Ranch in Guyton me, Jordan, Joel, and Olivia and wow, we were honestly mesmerized. This place is HUGE, and the diversity of animals completely surprised us. Everywhere you turn there's something new to see. The birds alone are incredible especially the peacocks. They were absolutely stunning, with so many different colors and patterns. We could've stayed there just watching them for a while. One of the wildest parts was the ostrich just casually hanging out without a closed cage you can get pretty close, which is both exciting and slightly intimidating at the same time They also have zebras, snakes, camels, and more. The camel, Camelot (yes, that's his name ), completely stole the show for us. Such a funny personality the kids and I loved him. It felt like a mix between a zoo and a ranch, but way more relaxed and interactive. The kids had an amazing time, and honestly, so did we. Now that I'm older, I'm able to fulfill a few of my own childhood dreams: learning to surf, writing a novel (still at the brainstorming stage), and learning to ride! Maria is a wonderful teacher--she knows when to push you and when to let you get comfortable. She loves animals more than I do (which is a lot!) and I've learned so much from her in just a few short months. She's been patient with me too--I've gotten injured (not from riding, from walking my dog!)--and she's been very understanding. She really cares if you become a competent rider and she ends every lesson with a hug and a compliment, even if I feel like I didn't accomplish much that day. Her rates are incredibly fair as well--I still can't technically afford riding lessons (if I listen to Suze Orman), but the rates of the lessons make it so that I can keep coming back to learn more. If you want to learn about riding, support a local businesswoman, and gain incredible skills and memories, M & R Ranch is the place to go! My main tip, however, would be this: DO NOT PURCHASE SEATS IN ROW F, which is the first section in the back portion of the theater. What the online ticketing wont tell you is that these are partially obstructed view seats due to the "clear" railings. Although the railings are indeed clear plastic, they are about 5 ft tall and therefore directly blocking your view while sitting down. Instead, I would recommend purchasing seats either towards the front in rows G or H or all the way towards the back of the theater. It will be a much more enjoyable experience, especially if seeing a 2.5 hr or more movie like we did.
