Dr. Adamo's practice is like no other I've seen or experienced. The addition of Dr. Dan last year was a true Godsend as well. You don't have to wait long. You feel cared for. You get your money's worth and so much more. I read all the other reviews about the atmosphere, chatting, joking and general casual nature of the office. I compare that to the regular Dr's office I go to from time to time (also in Bay Ridge): the receptionists don't really care about you. Get ready to sit for at least 2-3 hours. The Dr'. s are nice, but you can almost taste the greed and overall lack of concern for you and your problems. Contrast that to Adamo's holistic healing. My conclusion is I'm glad to hear about his house, vacations, whatever because he hugs me if he hasn't seen me in a while. I was married on the 1st, He hugged me again when I told him. The open arena concept threw me off a little at first, but now I crave it. Confidentially I don't believe the issues someone spoke about in their review are caused by chiro. Other GPs and surgeons don't understand chiro and are quick to point fingers that they cause medical problems. The science is badly maligned and has been for years. People are ignorant and love to place blame on such a visible target. I too, used to have incorrect perceptions about the treatment, blaming the chiropractor for something he had nothing to do with. Regular western medicine is all about pills and surgery, followed by more pills and more surgery to fix what the pills and surgery caused. Americans are fixated with the short attention span/quick fix to everything. They say why do I have to keep going back so much? That's akin to saying, why do I have to breathe so much or why do I have to eat every day? I can only speak for myself by saying I stopped going for about 2 months while I got my insurance together and changed jobs. At my age, everything was hurting. Nothing serious, just stiff and tired. After returning to Dr. Vincent's office, I'm back to 'normal'. My mobility is back better than ever, my neck feels better and so on. No pills, no meds, no surgery. 3yrs ago I met Dr. Adamo one day while I was working. He had a table set up in a nearby store across from where I worked. I was having back pain so I stopped by to talk with him. Instantly he found out where I was having the back pain and made an appointment for the next day. Im super bad with directions so I called to find out how to get there and the receptionist not only knew my name but guided me step by step on how to get to the office. Needless to say the office was very clean, organized and the staff were and still are very professional. The visit went well and he was spot on with his full diagnosis of my condition. I have scoliosis and lumbar degenerative disc disease. For me to find that out was very discouraging, I am in my mid 20's, workout 4 days a week am very active. I was on disability because the pain was so bad, but I literally thank god for Dr. Adamo he encouraged me all the way through, he promised me the pain would go away after some treatments and my spine would straighten. After 3yrs of natural nutrition treatments, and health seminars I live pain free, my spine is almost straight, and not only have I changed career paths, I workout 6 days a week and practice gymnastics once again. First, I would like to thank the receptionist (Ally) for her efforts in assisting me to get the right help because without her my quest for finding the right chiropractor would have been very stoic. Another of her many qualities Ally has, is a very keen sense of character which is also shared with the rest of the staff members including Dr. Adamo. She is courteous and always greets you with an attractive smile, and is willing to go the extra mile to assist you. Another staff member, Christina who is brilliantly talented as well as the well-rounded beautiful person has enormous care for the patients in the office. her memorization of dates and appointments is simply, "Genius" Zabar's restaurant critics, would highly recommend her organic food menu descriptions. Her passion for cooking healthy foods is salivating. Dr. Vincent Adamo expertise, techniques and devotion would have been admired by Dr. Daniel David Palmer who is the ( father of chiropractic medicine) he would have eagerly have taken lessons from Dr. Vincent Adamo. Dr. Adamo runs a well structured practice his patients are treated with care, "it's just like it a family" I the (patient) suffer from a hip injury that left me nearly immobilized, after receiving 21 adjustments I can say that I'm rapidly recovering, while other physicians told me it wasn't possible. My daughter was 3 years old when she had a strange onset of symptoms. Allergic reaction to heat, sweat, sun and all antibiotics. You can only imagine what a nightmare this can be for any parent. Her sweat was like acid on the skin. Doctors and specialist were puzzled and recommended out of state facilities that deal with rare cases. Obviously this would cost a tremendous amount of money which we did not have at the time. I've been a patient of Dr. Adamo for almost 4 years and I can truly say that he and his staff are one of the best. When I 1st met Dr. Adamo at a fund raiser, he noticed that I was hunched over in some much pain and advised that I make an appointment to get checked out. The day I went to my appointment my lower back was killing me. Dr. Adamo took x-rays and the x-rays showed that my spine was completely out of alignment and the curve in my neck was gone. Dr. Adamo advised that I come in 3 days a week for adjustments to correct my issues. After a few weeks of adjustments, I started to notice a change in my posture and the pain in my back was getting better, so Dr. Adamo introduced me to his wife, who is the nutritionist and she was got me on a nutrition program that has helped me, considering I was always tired and fatigue. I have been going to Dr. Adamo's office for over 5+ years now. I had back, leg and neck pain lingering for a long time due to back surgery many years ago. Dr. Adamo took x-rays, looked at all my surgery chart, examined my back and did the necessary adjustments needed 2x a week in the beginning. In the past few years I have been going for maintenance adjustments with Dr. Vincent Adamo and his colleague, Dr. Dan. The front desk with Christina and Marianne are a welcoming sight and make you feel like family, as does Dr. Vin and Dr. Dan. I was always very skeptical of chiropractors. I have went to several in the past and never saw a difference, so I just succumbed to the fact that a bad back would be the cross I had to bear in life.
