I recently saw Dr. Blatt when I was experiencing severe pain in my back that ran up to my neck. I was unable to sleep comfortably, sit in a chair at work, move / turn my neck from side to side. Overall my body was in immense pain and experiencing extreme discomfort. Dr. Blatt was very thorough throughout my visit with him. He listened as I explained what I was going through, and actually took the time to explain to me what was actually happening and how it needed to be addressed so I could understand it, instead of just telling me what to do. During the entire appointment he made me feel like I was his priority, whereas at other doctors offices I often feel the experience is rushed and there is little interaction between doctor and patient. That did not occur here. The approach Dr. Blatt took with me was really different from other chiropractors I have visited in the past. What he did was much more calculated and specific, and it was very low force. It was called tonal correction and was something new to me, but the results I received were very effective and it actually made a lot of sense. Within 1-2 days my pain was gone. While it was not instantaneous relief, the results I received have been long term which I feel is more important that immediate relief that does not solve the underlying issue. I was able to sleep a full night of sleep, work out, turn my neck and sit comfortably though out my work day without feeling any discomfort. He was really upfront and honest with me about what to expect every step of the way and we mapped out a plan for me that delivered what I came for and then some. I highly recommend him, and plan on making him and his Tonal approach a cornerstone of my long term health care plan. read more

I recently relocated to NY and found myself with a pretty serious lower back injury. I contacted my previous chiropractor in Atlanta and he suggested Dr. Blatt, who was part of his extended network. From our first interaction, I was very impressed and already felt a sense of relief. The office was easy to get to (right off Union Square) and the office staff was welcoming. My initial visit was extremely informative and I left knowing exactly what the course of treatment would be. I have played the game of using a chiropractor that my insurance covered in the past and found that was a mistake in finding quality care. Filing a claim through my insurance to receive reimbursement was not an issue for me. I am so happy to have found Dr. Blatt! In line with your post, anyone who knows Dr. Blatt will agree that he is highly respected and the regular recipient of well-deserved praise. So it goes without saying that there is a method to the madness when it comes to the care recommended by Dr. Blatt, and the financial structure of Axis Chiropractic. Conventional chiropractors tend to manipulate the spine in hopes of achieving temporary relief and/or exhausting a patient's insurance. Dr. Blatt IS NOT a conventional chiropractor. Practices throughout the country (and the world), that are focused on outcomes and results, frequently recommend a plan of care that is in the best interests of the patient. Most insurance providers, who are primarily focused on symptoms, make it challenging for professionals like Dr. Blatt, to do what they know will most benefit the patient. Dr. Blatt offers a variety of payment options, and then provides the necessary direction so that patients who are typically able to seek reimbursement for care rendered by out of network professionals, are able to do so in an expedited manner. This allows Dr. Blatt to offer reasonable fees to everyone (regardless of their insurance, and regardless of their high deductibles). This allows the doctor to focus more on the care, and less on navigating the jagged landscape of what an insurance company believes is best. Most of Dr. Blatt's patients appreciate the financial structure of his practice, and believe the unmatched quality of Dr. Blatt's care is well worth a very minor inconvenience. Dr. Brian helped me get rid of my headaches! I first saw him after I had a whiplash injury in my neck. I was having terrible headaches, almost daily. After adjusting me a few times, I felt so much better! I now live in Florida, so I don't get to see him for chiropractic. I've only seen Dr. Blatt twice, once for a consultation and one adjustment. The consultation was extremely thorough, and I felt very cared for. It's clear Dr. Blatt is passionate about what he does. I am 35 weeks pregnant, and he was great regarding the pregnancy, as well. My only concern (other than the distance from my home) is the pricing. Because Axis does not typically accept insurance as an in-network practice, I will be out of pocket thousands of dollars in order to complete the recommended care. The fact I'm even considering it is a testament to how much I like and respect Dr. Blatt, but unfortunately it may still be cost-prohibitive. read more

I went to Dr. Blatt because I sustained an injury to my neck while doing martial arts. A friend of mine recommended him to me so I decided to give it a try. My experience was very positive and my symptoms completely went away. He also worked on helping me deal with some other symptoms such as migraine headaches and an uncomfortable left hip. Those discomforts also completely alleviated... I haven't had a migraine headache for many months now; I had been having them as frequently as once a week before that. Among the best chiropractors I've even been to and a genuinely caring, skilled and ethical healthcare practitioner. I have longterm chronic back and neck issues and have received chiropractic care on and off for over 20 years from many chiropractors, a few good ones, but mostly not so good. Dr. Blatt carefully diagnosed and got to the root of the issues. After seeing him for about 4 months, I am amazed at how much better I am. I'm not having chronic pain for the first time in years. I was a patient of Brian Blatt's for 4 years. He is a good chiropractic from a technical perspective. However I would not recommend him for anyone who is a trauma survivor. He is likely to re-traumatize and is not interested in learning what that means. Each time I confronted him after an incident, he turned it around and made it about his hurt feelings. These are things like losing my x-rays, and dropping a conversation to permanently ignore me after I told him that I was being cyber-bullied and afraid for my life. Brian had actually defined our patient relationship as a friendship ,which I agreed to when the conversations were still mutual. Later it became clear that this was a pretext for spending my adjustments talking about his own life. I think Brian would be a good chiropractor for someone who doesn't need to trust their bodyworker, or who is not engaged with the way personal history imprints physical structure. As he was gaslighting me, I stopped trusting him and ended the working relationship with him as best I could by acknowledging what happened and asking for a referral. I have a major spinal deformity and he knows how dependent I am on chiropractic care. He did not bother to respond. When we were still "friends" he gave me referrals while I was traveling so I know that doing so is not beyond his capacity. That he withheld this suggests to me that his intentions are not always in the best interest of the patient. read more

Wow, is all i can say about Dr. Brian. I came in with a list of complaints (low back pain, headaches and digestion issues) and he made me feel like I was in the right place immediately. The exam was unbelievably thorough and the treatment was painless and far superior to any chiropractic adjustment I've ever received. No popping, snapping or cracking was needed and after only a few visits, I felt better than I've felt since I was a teenager. I've even been to chiropractors before, but none like this. I spent a year searching for a chiropractor in the NYC area that truly understood the body from more than a physical aspect. I had been battling severe, debilitating back pains for about 5 years.
